God 4years ago? Remember that game. I went into the rugby club next door and blagged loadsa free sarnies!! Didn't Radi get our goal with a header in virtually injury time?

Just met Kevin Davies tonight whilst he was presenting the new kits to my lads football team at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. Remember him so well when he played for us and his crucial goal v Millwall in the 2003 cup run. Not to mention the great goal v Everton at Goodison Park. I'd like to say what a great ambassador he is for football and professional footballers. He interacted with people, had his photo taken with all the kids and watched on for over an hour as they trained and played. If only more players were like him.

Appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I have been trying to join NS and have found their website. Only problem is I can't seem to get anywhere through Google Groups. I'm using an ipad so is it this? Is it me? Or is it the site? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers

You make a fair point there re Lovren and again you're correct in sayin it's complicated. The thing is though I've been supporting Saints for 40 years and watching them for probably 35. In that times homes, girlfriends, jobs etc have all come and gone but the one thing that has stayed has been SFC. I got the same joy from the difficult times more than I do now...........that's just a personal thing, for others it may be different and I accept that. -

I think you make a fair point. I love my club and seeing them play. The joy I get is seeing them play and then hopefully winning. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it more when we were in the Championship and League One. I was able to get tickets, it wasn't a rip off and the fans that went were the ones that really wanted to see their club. The Premiership is sheer gluttony and is way out of touch. I enjoyed seeing players like Sharp, Barnard etc who came to us with a real point to prove and were English. When I look at the likes of OSvaldo, Wanyama and Lovren they may be better but they don't care about us or the league it's just money. To me football at this level is losing its appeal. -
Clueless as usual. The way the club treats its supporters is shocking.

Ward-Prowse snubs party lifestyle as he eyes World Cup place

Steven Gerrard??......come on. If he's serious about not being a playboy Gerrard is not a role model. He's had plenty of off field grief and how he wasn't locked up for that Southport scuffle I'll never know.........oh that's right it was at Liverpool Crown with a Scouse jury! -
Ha! Was just about to post the same..........unfortunate place for the camera!

Was he sitting with an older bloke, quite high up?

I can't PM you but I have a suggestion that may benefit both of us..........do you have an email?

Cheers all. Will do likewise

I think you are probably right. Once apron a time I was in Bangkok. Unfortunately now I live in the soggy NW. Oh to come home to the south one day................
-
Ok this is a long shot.............been away on holiday and was unable to get a ticket. Has anyone got one? I live in Cheshire and if necessary will try and get one in home end but if anyone has one............?

I have just finished it. I enjoyed it and I thinkin fairness he tried to be balanced in his views but it wasn't a explosive read. If he hadn't been a Saints stalwart i wouldn't have bothered so between us and 'Boro he has a limited market. It's sad he's disabled though bearing in mind what a player he was.

Duncan This is what I mean. We appear to be waiting for the masses with the attitude maybe of 'we'll get it right then'. For me we should be saying 'we've got everything you want in whatever size, bring ye kids along, kit em out and they're sorted' it's not good enough. My lads desperate for a keepers shirt.he eyed up a United one with De Gea's name on. It had nothing to do with United or him supporting them he just wanted a kit. Now I steered him away from it but if I hadn't and he'd got it then that would have been the start of him possibly looking at United as a team to support simply coz he has one of their kids. Maybe a little simplistic? Interestingly City change their kit every game. The old ones go out to 3rd world countries and are distributed to poor kids. I worked it out at around £65k a season based on rough estimates at retail prices. Small fry to a club like City but something that is very clever and has massive potential. We just can't as I say get the basics right.

I love my club. There is a special feeling whenever I see us play or someone mentions them. I live in the north west and my 6 year old wears Saints kits day in day out. Going to see them though now has just become too expensive. We go when we can but everything about our club is being lost to the runaway train that is The Premier League. It's no good harping on about loyalty etc because it has nothing to do with it. I remember only three seasons ago going to places like Tranmere, Oldham and Walsall. We didn't win em all (Infact out of those we only won one - battering Oldam) and I got as much enjoyment there as I do from Prem football. For me seeing Saints win is what means most and if I can afford to do that then personally I'd prefer lesser opposition. But I don't want to lose football and I want my son to grow up watching live games, smelling the freshness of the pitches and feeling the cold of a January night as many of us did. So what have I done to make sure I can give him this experience? Well we've joined Crewe Alexandra as members and we go there. We sit in a nice stadium, we have good seats and we get a live game for the princely sum of £21 for both of us. We will never desert Saints but we just have to pick and chose now and not go as often. I just wish the powers that be would wake up and smell the coffee because if we're not careful there will be a lost generation who don't go to live games and get their experience from Sky.

I find the whole thing with our shop and merchandising very amateurish. I have the unfortunate pleasure of living in the north west and have recently undertaken the stadium tours at both manchester clubs and liverpool. I hold no candle for these teams and only went to take my little boy. Having said that when it comes to merchandising and marketing they are light years ahead of us. You look at their set ups and realise its things like this that mean we will never trouble the top four no matter how much money is spunked in our direction. Now marketing isnt my thing but we can't even get the basics right and it is so frustrating. With our kit just being launched we should be awash with it and in every different size but instead we have to wait like its us doing the, a favour.

Am I correct in saying you can't book by phone for these tickets?

It appears that my purchase and subsequent sale within 24 hours has caused some questions to be asked. I understand that and pm'd Trousers my reasons. To set the record straight I will make it public. I live in the North West and my intention was to take my 6 year old to his first home game. Like many I spent a while trying to book them. Thanks to the post from Warsash Saint I was successful. In the early hours of this morning I had one of those horrible moments.......you know the type where you realise you have made a right cock up. I realised the game was a 4 pm kick off on a Sunday and in view of the fact we would have had a very late night it would not have been particularly beneficial lot my son to be up that late before school. Also and unfortunately for me completely unreversable was a work commitment I have on that Sunday which I knew about and stupidly hadn't put on my calendar. In view of that I took the decision that I would give the tickets to someone I considered a worthy cause which hoepfully I have done. So no profit making, no doing others out of deserved tickets just an honest mistake. FWIW I think the system of how they have sold these tickets stinks and some quite deserving people have lost out. I'm sorry if that is the case but its not down to me. Simon.
