  1. So realistically, what is the likelyhood of this game going on general sale? I'm only usually in the area around christmas and easter time so didn't bother becoming a member this season. Although even before the United game was drawn I had said I was going to go to the Forest and Reading games during the Christmas period. Grrr grumble grumble and all that....
  2. I can't help but laugh at this elf!
  3. I agree with what you say about Wiggins, and about Cavendish. But I think Romero dceserves to be there (perhaps in the top 3 although probably not), because of her transition from winning a medal in Rowing at Athens to being and olympic cycling champion. Not many people have done thatin history! Personally I think Ben Ainsle deserves a mention. He's achevied just about everything possible in his sport, not just over the last year but over the last 12 years. Steve Redgrave didn't win it because of his acheivements over 1 year, but because of them over 16 years, so why shouldn't Ben Ainsle. Having said that, he won't win simply because how low profile Sailing is.
  4. Ridiculous question. Win of course. Get back in the global spotlight, bragging rights over lastics, advance a couple more rounds hopefully against smaller teams and perhaps another big team away later in the competition (Arsenal away would be nice). It would also be a massive bosst for confidence. Having said that I would take a draw any day of the week.
  5. There have been so many annoying gits (not just Pompey fans....but people who support teams all over the country), going on about how good Pompey's support was against AC Milan. Wouldn't you just love to show the world in a televised match against the European Champions that we can be louder and better?! I dont care if that means we get some of our less regular supports of late coming along. They still pay, they help the club, the support the club, and they'll make us look good. A fan's a fan! COYR!!!
  6. Can some of the super fans let me know if its acceptable for me to go or not? I'm not a STH or member and I normally only go to a few games a season (it was like that in the Premiership, it's still like that now), but I haven't been to a home game yet this season. Although I have been to a few away games (Cardiff, Swansea and Reading....and even Weymouth pre-season-beat that you super duper fans!). This is nothing to do with Lowe or anything, it's just that its difficult to get there usually. I was going to go to the Forest game because I'm a cheap skate, but now not sure which of the 2 games to go to. Would I be hated by the vast majority of Southampton, Hampshire, Manchester and Britain if I attempted to get tickets for it? I really am desperate to know, and value every one of your opinions.
  7. He's not great at centre back apprently.
  8. Jermaine Wright.....should have got Ian.
  9. Well I think thats about as close to optimism we'll ever get on this board! I rekon it'll be close but we'll survive with a couple of games to go. I really hope its not between us and forest on the last day. My heart wouldn't take it this time round!
  10. ...
  11. Oh this has to be your best quote ever! Seriously, I think that sounded like the loudest chant of the night from what I could hear...says a lot about you lot! Exactly. Didn't they finish 5th in serie A last season. That's our equivilent of Everton. Although the Premiership is the best league in the world (apparently), so 5th in serie A is more like about 10th in the Premiership. So AC are more like our equivilent of West Ham. So, from what I can conclude from this is that, Pompey's draw with Hull, was in fact their biggest acheivement of the week.
  12. I think you missed a decimal point in there somewhere.
  13. lol@ the channel 5 guy "Fratton Park is absolutely bouncing, but hopefully not too much as i doubt this portakabin will hold it" That's the kind of comment you'd normally expect to hear from a UEFA cup tie in somewhere like Estonia.
  14. I speak German, and I can confirm that's not what's being said at all  Funny though!
  15. I'll go out and make friends with some tonight. I do. It's not really a lot of effort. Where I live (Dorset), they're actually very good. We've all been given brown bins for food waste, a bin for paper, and bags for plastic and glass as well as a general bin for waste which can't be recycled. As much as I think the council are pretty useless with most things, they've actually made a real effort when it comes to recycling. As for washing out your baked bean tins, is that really difficult? Just hold it under a cold tap for 2 seconds and rinse it out. You're not expected to scrub it clean with fairy liquid! Putting it in my green bag as opposed to my black bag takes no effort what so ever. If it's really that difficult for you, how about you rearrange your rubbish bags so that your recycling one is closer to you than your usual black bin liner. It's crazy, but it just might work... So I've been told...
  16. Surely going out fly tipping takes far more effort than simply recycling though?
  17. I've just noticed that only Wolves have won away from home more than us this season. If only we could sort our home form out now....
  18. Hahaha lol read the post before you say anything next time lol :smt042
  19. I actually think the Charlton game could prove to be one of the most important of the season. No doubt we won't do things the easy way, but I'd give anything for 3 points there!
  20. Ouch! Out of all the insults you have thrown at us in the past, this one hurts the most.
  21. Which goal? The good one, or the one the cheating bastard threw in the net? No, I don't think he's the best either. Maybe top 10, but definately not the best.
  22. I know most of us believe it was never a red, but if you had never seen that before, and only had one chance to see it (i.e. if you were the ref), I can understand how it looks bad. Never a red though. Also on that page (seeing as I can't start threads), theres a thing about the worst ever top flight goalkeepers, and Jones is one of them...seems harsh to me! http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Galleries/0,,12555~1453294,00.html?imageNo=6
  23. Alan Blayney without a doubt.
  24. SaintsWeb says their will be almost 4,000 Saints fans there. I know they're not too far away from us (geographically I mean), but surely we won't be taking that many will be. Of course it'd be great if we did, but I thought only about 2,000-3,000 tickets were being sold to Saints fans? Anyone want to shed some light? Also are any tickets left?
  25. Jeeeez, get a room you 2!
