  1. Can't argue with that. Only been to a couple of away games this season and but Swansea was the one I was most looking forward to. Was very disappointed....awful performance, terrible atmosphere, very over-zealous police, cold weather, not allowed to town for a drink and I felt ill.
  2. So am I. That 1% scares me though. We need a sell out!
  3. Good post. Quite agree! Also, good idea! :smt023
  4. I didn't ask, but I was on hold for about 5 minutes. Not sure if thats a good sign or not though.
  5. Just got round to buying some tickets. That's 3 that aren't usually there (not through protest but due to work and living oop north). I'm dragging a Liverpool and Man Yoo fan down with me (neither of which have ever actually been to a professional football match apparently, surprise surprsie ). You never know, a good game and a good atmosphere, we might even convert them both. We really need an absolute minimum of 30,000 I think. Lets hope we beat that (out-selling the Man Utd game somehow would be good, but doubt we'll manage it.)
  6. I think you've just answered your own question. People will go whatever, simply because it's the last game of the season (and who knows...maybe ever). There's still a small (very very very very very very small) glimmer of hope for survival too! I know I will do all I can do to make sure I get down there!
  7. I still rekon it will be close to a sell out for some reason. Despite yesterdays loss.
  8. What do people think the chances of being able to buy a ticket on the day are? (I know todays result could affect the attendance a lot), but I'm not going to be able to know whether or not I can actually make it until Friday evening by the looks of things. Also, I never get why you have to be a member to buy tickets online? I'm sure you don't have to be for most other clubs.
  9. The day we become anything remotely like Chelsea will be the day I finally give up supporting Saints. If I had the choice of Saints being more like Chelsea of Eastleigh, I'd chose Eastleigh. Of course, I'd love a billionaire to come in and secure our future financially, and lead us back to the premiership but I'd be embarressed more than anything else if we started winning (buying) trophies simply because of some new found wealth. If we ever got to the Champions League (Yeah right! ), I'd like to think we were there on merit.
  10. Has anyone suggested making this very thread a sticky?
  11. I'd say it's between Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid1, and MarioKart Wii.
  12. I'm in and invited everyone I know (regardless of whether or not they give a sh!t about football or Saints). Not sure what good it'll do but at least it'll raise a bit of awareness of the situation.
  13. I was wearing my Saints top today and went to my local newsagent. The guy who works there was wearing a Chelsea top and as he served me said something like "they're going into liquidation now aren't they" and he was kind of chuckling as he said it. Not wanting to waste my breath on him I just said "yeah sort of" trying to pay and get away from the footballing ignorance of him. Just as I was walking out the shop he went on to say how his son is loving it because he's been a Pompey fan since last season (Now's probably a good time to mention I live nowhere near Portsmouth.....and even further away from London/Chelsea). I literally just walked out without saying a word. Starting to wish I'd stayed and given him a right earful. Apart from that, everyone's been strangely nice to me about it too.
  14. Great start for Brawn but I can't help but think the dream is going to come tumbling down sooner or later for them. I hope it doesn't though! I've got a sneaky feeling that someone like Rosberg will in tomorrow though, not sure why. I found it funny reading the papers yesterday as Hamilton was all of a sudden saying he would be willing to listen to offers from other teams in the future if they wanted him....what happened to pledging his whole career to McLaren? Good to see the BBC finally gave F1 it's proper music back too in the opening title sequence: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7969481.stm Their coverage today was infinately better than anything ITV have given us in recent years (despite the slight loss of coverage at one point!). Glad it's back where it belongs! Now if only we could get all England internationals back to BBC and live Test Cricket back to Channel 4 I'll be sorted.
  15. There are quite a few posts which have been deleted in that thread. The fact that there is only 1 "sick post" if anything makes it worse, considering the ones left on there are supposed to be the nice posts. No one at all is saying you have to have liked her (I know I didn't, and neither did the majority of people on that thread), but surely people can have the common decency to at least have a bit of respect for the dead.
  16. Just out of interest, what notable things have you achieved in your life thus far? I understand you're still young (I think), and so was she (relitively). Her raising awareness of cancer (even if only just slightly) has been a million times more worthwhile to the world than you amounting over 6,000 posts on an internet messageboard. Of course I'd love you to prove me wrong and construct a whole list of your valuable contributions to society, but I doubt you will. It's easy to criticise people... Admittedly, I wasn't exactly her biggest fan (in fact she did my head in most of the time) but I admire what she was trying to do for her children in her final months. I know people blag on how thousands of people die of cancer everyday, but most of them are not in the position to get the publicity which she did...however I bet if they could, they would. Anyone who's been through, or known someone who's experienced cancer will know it's probably one of the most terrrifying things imaginable, and for people in this thread to be almost celebrating her death is disgusting, and I just pray you never have to experience it yourselves. I couldn't wish it upon anyone. She may have been a complete and utter retard, but all credit to her, she made the most of what she had on her Big Brother platform and launched a career out of it. Perhaps not exactly a worthwhile career in most people's eyes, but there is a niche of people out there who liked her as a celebrity, and it was that popularity which enabled her to have so much fame particuarly in her final weeks. I say R.I.P to her, and can only think of her children on mother's day. I'm not saying it's any sadder than any other death in the country, but that doesn't make it any less terrible.
  17. 45,000 seater.....still makes me chuckle whenever I read that
  18. A couple of cracking quotes on the BBC website made me smile:
  19. S*it we really can't afford to let Charlton claw above us at this stage of the season.
  20. Redknapp was just on Football Focus telling us that he joined Spurs when they only had 2 points from 8 games. That's awful...I'm surprised he's never bought that up before
  21. That was Google's first answer
  22. I think you'll find it is actually...by quite some distance. Believe it or not, I doubt the degree teaches you how to go on holiday yourself, as much as to learn how to manage other peoples holiday experience etc. There's a lot of money involved...I'm sure most people here go on holiday at least once a year. P.s. Just to clarify, I agree there are a lot of pointless courses at uni (Psychology, Sociology, Media etc. just to name a few), but I don't actually think Tourism is one those. P.p.s I do not do Travel and Tourism.
  23. Tourism is by far the biggest industry in the world. I'm sure that degree is useful to some people.
  24. Still cracks me up everytime I see this photo!
