  1. Tend to agree - but feel a little sorry for him as he sort of 'fell' into the job. Mind you everytime I see hi interviewed on TV I think he looks like the rabbit in the headlights. I fear that he is about to burst out crying. How many more positives can he pull out of the hat given his record and Blackburns current position. Well out of his depth and the sooner he goes the better.
  2. Not strictly true - yes he did take some time to get back into the first team flow of it with WHU, but that's only to expected when you have been out for so long. I did see him perform for West Ham last season - he won man of the match. Perhaps football has given up on Wayne Bridge.
  3. I can see some play off agony for us. Start of the season I'd probably have accepted as much, but given where we are now it is going to be a bitter pill to swallow.
  4. Exactly, while we were all creaming ourselves over the thought of Michael Owen and John Arne Riise, NA went out and got Jos and SDR - not a dickie bird on here about them anywhere.
  5. Personally Id've left Tim and got rid of Ross. Grade A knob.
  6. 6 quid for a sraight haircut, always give the guy a tenner - he always gives me a fiver change. Every other cut I tell him to keep the change. Real complicated over here in NI.
  7. This. The sooner the 'football money pump' is turned off the better. Stupid contractual arrangements are the problem, not the players. Hands up all of you who, in WB's shoes, would walk away - right, not many then. Wayne may well have been offered other opportunities, but if they didn't suit him - then why move. The sooner football sorts out it's wage structure, where players are payed in line with actual appearances or /and service to the club, then this scenario will continue. 90k a week while you're doing it for the 1st team son, after that the going rate is 15k - take it or leave it. When a player falls out of favour, he has incentive to leave and try again elsewhere and smaller clubs may be able to compete in gaining good players signatures. Bridgey was discussed on TalkSport today, but if you look around the top flight teams, it would be interesting to know what is the wage bill for those squad members who never make the first team. So has WB lost motivation, probably a little - but then again, wear his shoes, and tell me whether you would of too.
  8. Ummmmm, you may have a point there.....!
  9. He will go to TESCO's. Or, The Ex Saints Club for Overthehillplayers, which of course is more commonl known as Stoke City. Trust me - I know...!!!
  10. Good ol' Gus - he's beginning to loose the plot now. Apparently ****ed off to the stand of his own volition as well. C'mon Gus - keep up son....!!!
  11. I dispair of such stories - fairly soon people like the child in the story will be dictacting us. Should have battered 3 bales of shyte out of the little tyke and sent him home to his parents with a bill for the damage.
  12. Divets..... fukin' divets....... on hallowed SMS turf........ Cortese out FFS.
  13. I'm a big pixie mix fan, their albums are right up there with the classics.
  14. Post 33 and I think it's probably a prudent time to consider renaming it '1000 Saints' - there are probably at least 150 names already on most peoples list....!!

Not a chance. I'll stick to my Taylors (only ever Taylors) Port and stilton if it's all the same to you - can't beat it.
  16. At last - a decent thread. No. We have made a great start, but I just can't see us maintaining our form throughout the season. We have dipped the last couple of games, and the pressure is only going to get more intense as the season draws to a close. Very, very difficult to win it from the front (unless you have a massive points advantage early on - which we don't), somebody is going to come from the pack and nick it at the last.
  17. + 1 me too.
  18. We dont have a best player - it's a squad game - ask NA.
  19. I really dispair of some fans - the guy had a shocker granted - but really, are all of these different threads really necessary. Player low on confidence - the fans get straight on his back, tell him to go back to his own country and generally give him a hard time. Top of the league - How much better could it get. Great set of fans.
  20. Somebody is watching over us - but if we get through this sticky patch unscathed, we really need to pick it up going into next year. All of that said - I really wasn't expecting to get promotion this year anyway, nor do I particularly want it - so I'm pretty much like a pig in shyte right now...!
  21. Don't worry about it mate, it's just Dune going back to his stanley days.
  22. Made me lol, as a beginner/intermediate I know how he feels - currently 'Classical Gas' is the holy grail for me, but at 350 quid a throw I can't afford to trash my guitar every time I cock it up...!!!!
  23. At last, hallelujah to that. Yeah the Turks got his winding gear out but for me he makes sence. Sit and talk about individual games all you want, speculate about the 'thousands' of fans who have been disappointed each week because they have failed (again) to get a ticket for the game. But, if this was the reality, especially in this day and age - it would be all over these boards. We just don't know how many are being turned away at this point. But one of the biggest indicators available right now is our season ticket waiting list. Do we have one, how many people are on it? In my view, expanding a stadium and expecting it to be regularly filled by 'casuals' and 'jcl's' is toutamount to a business plan disaster.
  24. I really don't see how your history alone is going to make any difference whatsoever to be honest. Yeah we can sit and argue about trophies and honours that each of our clubs have won, but at the end of the day neither of us is Manchester United or Liverpool. We have both had the odd occassion when we have been successful here and there (yeah - your history will tell you that you are much more successful than us - but relatively - whoopeebloodydoo). Last week was history, as was yesterday, as was the past hour. My point being that what sticks in the mind most - is recent history, and even with your Cup successes in there - your off field problems are also very prominent. When you look at the amount of money that is required to really just get you stable (what circa 50 million) - how many buyers are going to splash that cash based on current history? I don't really know that much about football - but how your couldn't see that your last set of owners had 'issues' was quite amazing. I mean how many club owners use facebook as their main interaction with the fans, how many clubs announce trivia such as new loos, running water and a new clock as though it were a major issue, how many links to 'dodgy deals' thrown up by a quick google did you want to or choose to ignore? I'm not actually in the 'Pompey to die' camp - I want 6 points and I'll be happy, but I do fear that you wont find what your looking for very easily. I honestly think that you are damaged goods, and trying to attract a decent buyer could well be very difficult now - and if 'your history' is your ace in the hole then I don't think you have a cat in hells chance.
