Nope, didn't expect that at all. Didn't expect us to get promotion either. But expectations change. Over the course of the season, so far, we are the form side, quite simple really. Therefore it's not unrealistic to have expected to get something from a game against one of the lower sides in the league. I am more than happy with our current position - but I still think that yesterday was a lost opportunity.

Absolutely awful news. He was on Football Focus this week with his mate Gary Mac - looked and seemed in great form. Had the pleasure of meeting both of them a couple of times during their Leeds playing days - both great guys. Stunned and shocked by this, condolences to Garys family. RIP.

The groundsman where I play always goes ape if he catches us washing our boots and balls in the showers after the game - so I don't think I'll be able to try this.

Not to mention thier new highly paid manager, Mr Appleton.... oh maybe not then - two portions on chips perhaps...!!! Seriously though - when you look at the figures (even though they are 'finger in the air' good guesses), it does look pretty bleak for them trying to run solvently. Not even considered other running costs such as non-playing staff, match costs, policing and the like. Personally I think they will be fine this season, look at Birmingham - thier owner is in the clink and it hasn't derailed them at all. Come next season though - the fat lady might start limbering up again.

Quite suprised that people are so blase about it really. Let's be honest our away form is cack, should we be beating relegation form teams on their own patch - if we are serious about our own promotion credentials - too right we should. Yes our home form is faultless - but that can quickly change (and will), therefore we need to be capatilising on opportunities - not squandering them. Today was an opportunity lost - WHU have taken their opportunity and now are within touching distance - they could overhaul us this week. We will not go through the season unbeaten at home - we will lose. Our away form could well be the achilles heel that, at the end of the day, sees yet more seasons in the Championship.

Stunning piece of journalism - everything you would expect from the Sun. The headline bears absolutely no relevance with the actual story - classic.

My preference is for the Sun, I can complete much of the x word, Deidre is great and it has lots of pictures in it as well.

Disagree once, twice and thrice. Never is it an overrated effort, his execution was pretty much spot on, and it get's remembered because it was a damn good effort - not because if was Keegan. Yes there are probably better efforts out there - but the one you talk about is not all over youtube because it was overrated. How many other non goals are played so regularly?

The blue few down the road - Its not getting any easier

Mate, given what they are worth, YOU could buy pompey. Unfortunately though, you would also have to pay the wages, which is a different matter, and probably where the last 5 or 6 owners have got it spectacularly wrong...! -
Agreed Charlie - these sports lend themselves to the use of these systems, by the very nature of the sport. The 'in or out' call will be debated numerous times in probably every game / match. Hence is makes sence to make use of such systems. But I'd be surprised if the system is tested more than once in most football league grounds. Perhap they should be installed for major world / european competitions - but I'm not convinced we need them at every league ground.
-
This struck me as well - although I'm assuming, that what we saw in the clip was merely a prototype of the finished product. If it's not then I could see it both taking and giving some serious damage. I'm not convinced that we really need these systems, yes over the course of the years there have probably been a handful of blatent 'goals' not given, and vice versa - but it all adds to the game. If this technology is used more than twice in a season in the same stadium - it would be unusual. It's probably going to be one of the redundant peices of equipment ever installed into football stadia.

Report from Sky here: http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16116528 Quite interesting - we get 5 sec mention at the end of the clip.

I turned my guitar amplifier down to 8 so I would only annoy the immediate neighours and not the whole street.

Absolute bollux. I know at least one kid on here who had a bike and bloody remote control car as well.... For the record, I spend loads on my kids at Christmas - they are spoiled rotten. I love Christmas, it's a time to separate the men from the toys.

This. We did what we had to do. To say that we made appalling decisions is easy now - try making those same decissions when the writing was on the wall - not now we have a wealthy benifactor.

Watch it tonight - you'll love it.

Ahhhh I might be sad, and I might be a mong, but I don't do facebook - that is well over me, as is twitter and bebo.... etc. Electronic socialising for me is pretty much done exclusively here. (How sad am I)....!
-
Thanks for that Lighthouse - this mong will be watching The Gestapo tonight, hoping against hope that they take out Sinita on IACGMOOH.
-
So you watched it then.....

I think there is immense pressure to go up this season for WHU. They are due to move to the Olympic Stadium and they also have high earners - another season (or even longer) in the Championship, could see them in dire straights as well.
-
Which if you look around only goes to show that the guy really does have great talent. Unfortunately for us, he got it wrong, these peices never look like going togeather very well - Ted looks better without a head...!!

Le Tissier,Beattie and Lambert as penalty takers

Exactly, I don't think there's any competition here. Comparisons, maybe - but competition - no. -
It would appear that TCWTB ruined it for some of them though, not particularly popular with a lot on there: "That sounds like a great song and we would have loved to join in. But sadly we were stuck 20 or so rows in front of JPFCW & the drummers. What a bunch of mouth breathing, atmosphere killers they really are. How does anyone in the Fratton End put up with them? The real downside of the alcohol ban was that they stayed in the stand at half time pretending to be "jazz drummers". W**kers!"

At the end of the day, it's all about balls.
