Manning needs to get some studs in his boots. Two slips now, one leads to a goal, other could have done but he got away with it. Not impressed with him so far - certainly no better than Peroud…
-
No chance of a clean sheet so we win it 3-2. Che and AA both to score again 🤞

Well that was exciting! Eight goals and we didn’t lose - I think a draw was a fair result overall. As mentioned our defending was terrible, we have got to sort out our dead ball defending - we look like conceding at every free kick/ corner around the box. Our side is physically small, we don’t have much height in the side and we struggle because of it. No height up front at all - we get into some nice wide positions around the box in attack, and then have to play it along the ground as there is no physical presence at all. Oh for a Pellé type attacking focus. I though Norwich broke at pace and looked dangerous, we always looked vulnerable to their counter attacks. Bazunu could not be blamed for the goals - terrible defending for all of them. I really don’t know what the solution at the back is other than replacing both CB’s which isn’t going to happen. No pace in them, poor positioning, non existent marking we will concede a fair few goals. Definitely going to have some high scoring games - could be a long wait for our first clean sheet! Enjoyed it, nice to rescue it at the end (kudos Adam Armstrong) kept cool with a good pair of pens, good atmosphere - dare I say it was exciting?! Certainly better than the turgid dog turd we played at home last season. Get a big centre back who can organise, a DM who can get stuck in and break up play, and a focus upfront with some physical presence and we will do ok.

COYR! Saints to win 2-1. Alcatraz to score. For a change a good start to the season 🙏🤞

Salisu is to centre backs that Lemina was to midfielders for us. Talented, but terrible attitude. Could have been great, but as others have said, only great when they felt like it, total waste of space when they didn’t.

Leeds for me.

A more defensive, deeper back 4, quick break style I’d suggest. We have pace on the wings and up front, to get behind sides. Win the ball in midfield, get it forward to the wide men/through ball to a pacy forward. Adam Armstrong scored his goals for Blackburn played through in that style… We have never played him like that - probably why he’s looked like a fish up a tree. Play to a players strengths and they may just work better…

I can see this too. I’m expecting another frustrating season - can’t score goals to put a game to bed whilst on top, and then concede absolute gifts by playing out from the back and getting caught out. We simply don’t have the quality in defence to play this style. Teams will know what our aim is - so they’ll press us at goal kicks and we’ll get ourselves in a right mess at the back playing out, and then they’ll play 9 behind the ball knowing we can’t break them down. My concern is RM will keep playing the same way with no plan B. We are not Man City and never will be, so trying to play like them with inferior players (even against inferior teams) is doomed to fail. It’s as if Sports Republic demand football played in this style, got a manager who fits the style, but has a team who aren’t equipped for it. Make much more sense to play in a way that suits the players you actually have, rather than a style we aren’t equipped for. Cue a season that promises much but fails to deliver.

Exactly like Mario Lemina - could have been a great player for us, sadly he mainly couldn’t be arsed.

Kulusevski Aged 23 and a very decent player has signed for spurs for £25 million. Can’t see JWP being worth double that 😬
-
It was a terrible challenge and very meant. Yellow all day long. Martinelli gets his come uppence by getting a cynical chop also no yellow. Strange reffing.
-
He’s deluded and useless in equal measures. Typical Saints really - trying to be clever and it doesn’t work. Goes for the transfer policy, the signings we’ve made, the managers we’ve had this year, the bullshit PR the club churn out, the lack of Sports Republic outing this shower of shit, the whole lot are rotten to the core. Believed their own bull shit, now they can drown in it. Bye premier league, nice knowing you, we won’t be back for a long while…

Walcott has been one of our best players the last few games…

What on earth is he doing. Totally and utterly mental decision. 😧

I must admit he does have shades of Martin Stekelenberg about him - rarely made a save and almost everything on target seemed to go in! I don’t think a young inexperienced keeper is helped by the defence being different every match either. No understanding develops, so he is always unsure of who is doing what, so I think makes more rash decisions. Bednarek should never have come back, he was a poison we didn’t need, and not one manager of our three could stick with a settled back four (or three or five!) But notwithstanding that, yesterdays first goal was his fault entirely - a strong punch eliminates the threat He meekly patted it down into the danger zone instead. Poor. Leeds away, Spurs away, Wolves at home etc etc all mistakes leading to goals. Not up to scratch. Feel for him, he must know he’s performed way below average, along with most of his team mates. That’s why we are going down - too many poor players, coached in a non suitable style. Sad times ☹️

Not trying to defend Bazunu here but if you look at any keeper they all have a horror game in them every now and again. Think Allison at Liverpool last year (I think) where he gave two goals away in one game in a horror show, whilst trying to pass out from the back. Fabianski v Newcastle last week. All players make mistakes. Keepers errors are magnified as it is a goal resulting. If Aribo and Walcott could hit the target from 8 yards we’d have won. But they didn’t. If…the biggest little word 😬
-
If we could shoot, we’d be 2/3 up. But we can’t. You can see Palace breezing up the other end and scoring, whilst we huff and puff and achieve nothing. 45 mins to get a win now. Not that the first 45 gave any hint of urgency, need, desire or passion. Sigh.

Absolutely nailed on penalty for Brighton ignored and Spurs break and score the winner…. How on earth has var not pulled that back for a Brighton pen? As you say, highly dubious goings on 😮
-
Because better teams leave space to play behind them. Our fellow shite teams don’t and know we can’t break them down. Hence losing 1-0 so often. We are not good enough and will go down without a whimper. Sadly ☹️
-
0-3. City really NEED to win this to keep their winning the league attempt viable. We will be put to bed early and then they’ll be nice to us and possession us to death. Can’t see any other outcome sadly than an easy loss…
-
Ooooh what was that whimper I heard. Oh Saints giving it their all in a must win game. Totally and utterly clueless up front. West Ham one up after more car crash defending just sat back and knew we’d never score. Possession means sod all without purpose or intent. We piss about with side ways passing, allow the opposition to amble back and reset, and then we have no clue how to get through them. Players make runs and nobody tries to pick them out with a quick through ball. It has to be the manager wanting them to play ‘safe’. Pants 🩲. Deserve to go down and will do so. No fight, no clue, no hope ☹️.
-
God how many times do we just give the ball away. No quality at all. Everything is slow and allows West Ham to get everyone back. Tedious and predictable Saints. ☹️
