Hat tip to the optimists. Didn't see us completing this deal. An incredible coup. Hope it pays off. Can he play on Sunday?
-
Likely £20m in this transfer window. And roughly £10m in the next. So, £25m ish. I'd be interested to here what Turkish thinks on this existential issue.
-
we shouldn't sign him. Keep the money -£15M?
-
Based on my sense of smell. If you want actual stats from Football Manager, ask MLG.
-
Don't get me wrong. If we sign Ramirez, I'll punch the air. But I'm starting to hope we don't. Smells like Delgado triple plus. I'd be happy to be gazzumped...and even happier to be proved wrong!
-
Are Brum still in the financial mire? If so, they seem to be very tough negotiators....
-
Please close this thread. Mental.
-
But you have already decided our finishing position as you did last year? What a fool.
-
Pretty much agree with this. Put out the reserves - I won't care about the League Cup unless we get to the quarter finals.
-
I think we're about 50-50 to go down. But I'm relaxed about it tbh.
-
If he does sign, can someone clarify where he plays? Have seem him variously described as a midfielder, winger and forward (not necessarily all mutually exclusive). If we get him, who gets dropped from the starting XI?
-
Well, that reflects badly on the league then. The longer the season goes on without teams knowing who gets a penalty and who doesn't, the more absurd the competition. E.g. Playing all 38 games in the Premiership and then deciding "Man City lose 1 point, Man Utd lose 0 points, Chelsea lose 5 points" would slightly take the shine off the competition. At this early stage - and with only Porstmouth in the frame - it doesn't much matter. But the longer it drags, the more it matters (when do fellow relegation candidates start to play for a draw rather than a win etc)
-
That was not what he said....he said the new owners wld have to accept -10 or lose the golden share. If that were to be true, the CVA is an irrelevance re: points, surely?
-
If that is the case - and I have no reason to doubt you - why not just apply the penalty right now?
-
I also think you're failing to grasp the price mechanism. I think Saints could probably get 50K+ to every league game if the price of entry was, say, 10p. But that isn't a great business model.
-
That's a slightly weird argument. Man Utd is an outlier. Virtually any decent club in the world could probably sell 50,000 for a Man Utd game. It does not follow, of course, that virtually every club in the world needs a 50K stadium! Because that club may also face a long stretch in the lower divisions playing teams like Stevenage and Dagenham in the JPT on wet Tuesdays in a cold February.
-
The ticket systems may be awful. But it did look like about 29K to me. (from the mid of Itchen, it looked pretty full in Kingsland, Chapel and our slice of Northam)
-
Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with 29K. If we have 23K season tickets and 1K away fans, that means the uptake from other members of the human race was pretty thin tbh. Reaffirms my gut view that a 32K stadium is almost exactly the right size for Saints. We'd need at least an extra 10K people to be desperate to get in every week to make expansion worthwhile.
-
I didn't think we were too bad, tbh. Utterly sh1te result, obviously. But a just about okay-ish performance. On another day, with the same balance of play we wld have won that 1-0 or 2-0. No need to panic (yet!) Agree with those asking (a) what are we doing with Jay Rodriguez and (b) how do we get some pace on the pitch?
-
Lol. What a screw up.
-
This thread is going well then. We should all be proud.
-
That ain't a great website is it? At least they translate the words "we're fu cked" into the mother tongue of the various crooks who have been in control. A nice touch, I thought.
-
Mark Littlewood @MarkJLittlewood3mI'm pretty sure Chanrai only interested cos 17K "packed the park". If it had only been 14k, he'd have given up. What do#pompey fans think?
