  1. Yep, apparently so.
  2. Because omicron is highly infectious and the vaccine is not a guarantee of not catching it.
  3. Hmmm. See answers 4 and 5 here: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/health/how-effective-are-covid-19-vaccines-against-omicron Given the enormous lengths footballers are expected to go to in order to maximise their chances of playing at peak performance, it’s beyond absurd that players paid millions a year - often equating to several thousand pounds per minute on the pitch - wouldn’t take 3 jabs.
  4. Covid overall is worse. But this latest variant seems much milder than flu. Think it's caused about 5-10 deaths in the UK (the number of people dying "with it" rather than "from it" will be much higher, of course). It's about on a par with the common cold. Which makes calling off matches because a few very fit men in their 20s have a bout of the sniffles even more absurd. But, as has been said, that's the government's fault not the clubs.
  5. Yeah, I like him. He’s passed his peak now, but he harries brilliantly
  6. Championship “at best”. You think his natural level is basically Third or Fourth Division?
  7. I hated the starting line up. But we were excellent until the red card and defended very well in the 2nd half. Got a bit of fortune, but deserved the point. Had Salisu not given away the penalty and got sent off, we may well have won. Spurs are a pretty disappointing outfit.
  8. I’m already assuming he’s unaffordable- £30m+?
  9. What a miss from Walcott...gees
  10. Utter shambles in this half. Abysmal.
  11. KInd of weird that we wil be up against the same manager in 2 consecutive league matches, wonder if that's ever happened.
  12. Table sorting of taking shape now. I’m feeling more confident than a few weeks ago for sure. I think the teams below us are all worse than us. Good news that Arsenal’s suicidal efforts didn’t stop them defeating Watford
  13. There were a few empty seats in the corporate area and I'm not sure the Villa end was totally sold out, but it definitely seemed 90%+ full
  14. I get that. As it happened, I don't think we got KWP or Tino to be more aggresive, I think we just went deepet. Then Diallo coming on was even more defensive. It worked cos we won. But felt to me like we should have been out of sight in 30 mins...and ended up defending the 1-0 very hard in the olast 30 mins.
  15. Yeah, you may be missing the point. We were 1-0 up when the substitution was made. We ended up winning 1-0. I understood that from watching the game at St Mary's. My question was what was the rationale for the substiution. S Armstrong off for a central defender seemed like a very big tactical call.
  16. Only watched the game live at the stadium, so am still scratching my head on Lyanco on for Sarmstrong. Any insights in what happened there? I assumed 3 at the back to release Timo and KWP down the flanks? If so, it didn’t work.
  17. Fantastic atmosphere this evening. Solid performance. To pick holes, I guess you’d say we struggle to ever score more than 1 goal, but that aside it was a bit like the Leeds win. Oddly comfortable even with SEVEN minutes of stoppage time. Romeu and Salisu were the stand outs for me. Salisu is starting to look like the perfect genetic merger of Virgil VD and Wanyama!
  18. Terrific three points. Am just daring to look up the table a bit, not just down it
  19. Harsh. We've played well.
  20. Appeal that?
  21. If only we had 6 of the Burnley players in our team - the sort of footballing legends that Turkish, for one, is clear are far better than the current Saints players - I'm sure we'd be safe already....
  22. Robbed. But great point and truly excellent performance.
  23. How does the company liquidate then if needed?
  24. I guess at some stage, he'd take a haircut. But that probably presumes a death spiral in a post-relegation world.
  25. If I was Gao, on purely selfish terms, I'd probably hold out. I want £200m. Not £100m. Or £125m. I also have a large tranche of cash in a real UK asset. If it falls in time to £100m or even £50m I still have a good retirement fund in Western assets. Everythign else I have is dependent on the CCP's behaviour.
