Crab Lungs? I didn't know you had a sense of humor, I'm sure many don't when you bury your talent in the thread equivalent of the Bermuda triangle

Hardest ****ing Years/Schools in Southampton...
farawaysaint replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Lounge
Side note, being schooled in Africa our teachers used to tell us horror stories about the English public school kids. If it makes you feel better you're all very hard and the teachers at least hated you buggers -
I'm a fairly young man so this isn't one of those "when I was a young lad we used to walk 50 miles to school in 6 ft of snow" posts but is it just me or is all modern music really awful? It seems that every song released recently has just been a remix or cover of an older, (and often far superior,) version. Can anyone really say that they think that in 50 years time people will still be listening to this music as it has stood the test of time? Personally I don't think there are many bands around now that have any real staying power whatsoever. For curiosities sake; I'm not a music nazi and will happily listen to just about any genre, (except House which is frankly pants, a 10 minute loop of the same drum track does not a song make.) Can anyone give examples of modern music which they think is truly revolutionary? Educate me if I'm an ignorant heathen by all means.

SFC Facebook page relaunched - bit of a cockup

Credit where it's due, the skate that managed that at least has a sense of humor Of course considering the joke of a club he follows that's a given. Liven up though guys, I think the sabotage was pretty funny and it was fixed sharpish as well. -

Erm what are you all talking about? It all looks fine to me? -
I think we're longer than the bible now.

Exactly! It's now an expensive leisure pursuit

Cold reading is a simple tactic that they use to f with your mind. It's easy enough and I've used it a few times as a party trick, you'd be amazed at how a few general statements can make you seem like some sort of insightful guru.

Right, for those not ITK someone care to tell me the credentials of the russkis?

FFS, it's all very well and good America and Britain playing world police but there are far worse regimes in power, particularly in Africa, but nothing is done about them barring a few meaningless sanctions. The only time they get off their arses and do something about it is when their is an important resource at stake.

His dad is Mark chamberlain, of course he doesn't want his kid at Saints. He's stated before that the only reason Oxo is here and not at Pompey, (whose academy wanted him,) is the standard of our youth setup. Of course the first chance he has to get Oxo moved on he'll take, I'd do the same if my kid was coming up through the skate's academy. He did what was best for his kid but he has no love whatsoever for us which is his right.
-
Oh noes one of our players got called up for international football! The horror! Frankly if anyone wasn't already aware of Oxo I'll be surprised so I'm not all that fussed, a good performance may do wonders for his confidence anyway.

Barcelona tonight - an insight into our future?

Jaidi is a freaking redwood, I'd hardly call him a sapling -
Who's going to be supporting United tonight?
farawaysaint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Man U are the most obnoxious team in the entire world. The only reason to hate Barca is that they're far too sodding efficient; so yes, I was supporting Barca thank you. -

Dear god people Turkish is dicking with you, I believe the term for what he has achieved here is a "poe". -

What is your ultimate of ultimates, your funnest of funbags, your most melancholy of melons, your most explosive of bazookas? In short, what is your best of the breasts? I'll get the ball rolling with a personal favorite modelled by one of my ex's, the 32 DD.

I let the first team play a 5-a side in my back yard. It was apparently the best quality pitch they've played in for years and there's talk of building a new 100 million pound stadium around my house as soon as the new takeover goes through.

It gets even more complex because players signed from the academy don't have a value due to the fact their contracts are internally generated intangibles and hence cannot be amortised as they have no readily determinable value. Thank you IFRS for making life unbelievably complex for everyone I don't see why Man City would have problems? The last set of financials I can find shows that with the projected prize money and television market pool of the champions league next season along with the allowed owner equity contributions with a little bit of tweaking they should manage it. Of course, I haven't seen last year's financials, and to be honest haven't been following the club so if their costs have gone up significantly they could be screwed.

I'm only a trainee accountant but I hope I can shed some light. This isn't a balance sheet it is a trade ledger and as such shows trade income and expenses for the period. Player purchases would not be included as they are solely an asset and liability transaction and there is no corresponding expense. Agents fees are included as a line item at 180000 pounds. Player loans are in essence an operating lease for football clubs and as such loan fees would be included in wages as an expense, salaries and wages are indeed net of tax as are all items in the statement. A more telling accountant would be a full income statement as well as a statement of cash flows. Player sales are an income transaction however and will be represented, if they sold any player for a loss on his book value then it is very possibly just netted off against player sales income.

I don't see it. Liquidation law is brutal, if pompey don't pay the CVA they'll be right back where they started and a winding up order is sure to follow.
