  1. We should try and win the competition. I think we've proved that with our squad we are capable of finishing in the top 10. A few extra games in a cup run shouldn't prevent us from finishing in the top half
  2. Tough one to call. We were well beaten there last year, although we were we certainly helped out by Fox that day, and a wonder strike by Cisse
  3. For me, it's just praising our players, we'd all be moaning if Savage came out with an article saying none of our players are good enough for United. Personally, for some reason I'm not worried about any of our top players leaving. I think the players are aware of what we're trying to build here, and whilst we're not going to become a Champions League side overnight, our progress for the last 5 seasons shows Cortese is a man with big plans. And so far he has executed them almost perfectly.
  4. That team is weakened, but good enough to do the job. Attacking options on the bench too
  5. We really couldn't be playing them at a worse time. They're unstoppable at home so we have a glimmer of hope. It seems such a nailed on City victory that we might just pull off a surprise result like last season
  6. He'll be in the squad just for the fact we have so many out. Can we afford to play him? No. Need 100% work rate and commitment today against the best side in the country, he's not the man to do it
  7. Very worried about the right back slot, hope MP doesn't try playing Yoshida there, was disastrous last season. I've never been convinced by Yoshida at all really, think he's one who's very much overrated on here. Things could get very messy tomorrow
  8. Sadly for us it looks like I only might end up a point off with this prediction
  9. So no Wanyama or Schneirderlin. Who exactly is going to stop Yaya Toure????!!
  10. Feared this would happen with our line up. I was expecting it, we've had lots of good results and we're going through a tricky period. I think the bottom line is that we have a starting 11 that is good enough to finish 7th to 10th, but beyond that there is a lack of strength in depth. Tonight has further highlighted how far behind we are in terms of trying to get to the next level. Still, I made a few hundred quid, but onwards and upwards for the team hopefully. The next few games look really tough though, we're going to have to stay positive and try and pick up some points
  11. It seems the team are just trying to wind up everyone on this forum by conceding poor goals then scoring! Still think we can win this, certainly making hard work of it though! It'll go awfully quiet on here though, especially if Osvaldo scores again!
  12. Benteke dropped for Villa, they shouldn't carry much of a goal threat. Think we're in for a low scoring game
  13. From a neutral perspective it's a massive price. In my mind it should be around 11/10 Saints and 5/2 Villa.I've had a nice lump on. Villa also 11/10 with a one goal start which covers the draw too.
  14. I think we've done as well as anyone could have possibly hoped for. We've had a bit of luck with injuries (up until now) and the fixtures, and it's going to start getting tougher, especially with all the Christmas and New Year games. Personally, I can see us losing the next 4 games, which is a shame after such a good start. I still think at the end we'll be looking at 9th/10th place. As has been mentioned, Cortese might not be happy with it, but it really will take a lot more just to even get into the top 6, the last two games have shown us how far off we still are. However, this is as good a team as I have seen us have for the last 20 years, so let's be grateful for that and hope we can continue to pick up some more good results.
  15. A fair summuray, but more possession and shots is a bit irrelevant when you lose 2-0. We were well beat yesterday by a better team, but I was disappointed with our attacking threat, Osvaldo in particular. We defended well enough first half, but I always felt we would go on to lose the game. Some really tricky games to come this month, I think we will have a better idea of where we are at after the home game against Chelsea
  16. 5/1 on Villa is massive, have invested profits from today on it. Without Boruc I would be very surprised if we get a result. 2-1 Villa
  17. We were actually poor and showed a lack of bottle. Osvaldo was Anonymous

Seems to have been at Wednesday for ages whilst being consistently poor. Not quite sure how he has managed to keep his job
  19. 2-2 I believe. Completely irrelevant to tomorrow
  20. Will be another defeat, we will start to slide down the table. As long as everyone keeps some persective and realises we won't finish in the top 6 it will be fine
  21. Not so exciting now that number one football pundit and expert Mark Lawrenson has made us 'dead certs' for a top 10 finish
  22. It was a definite shirt pull, not the first time Fonte's done it. It was a penalty by the letter of the law, it's just referees seem to be rather selective when deciding to give them
  23. Just another money spinner. It actually looks really nice, but those just aren't Saints colours to me so probably won't be buying
  24. Here's a more simple way of looking at it, would we have conceded more goals this season with Davis or Gazzaniga in goal? IMO yes. Boruc is a bit of a nutter, we know that, but on the whole he has been one of the best keepers in the league this season.
  25. About 10th. Would be very surprised if we get more than 2-3 points from our next 5 games. Looks like our toughest set of fixtures and the games will come thick and fast in December
