Agree at his worst he was 6/10 performer but showed elevated flashes of brilliances sometimes which made him 8/10 in some games, but never consistently. Way above some of the rubbish we’ve had in recent times.

Just to add some weight behind the pound for pound stuff, Anders Svensson today would cost £1.275m with inflation.

Obviously, no real set rules here but I was just thinking who pound for pound has been Saints best and worst players in the last few years? (Free transfers included, as wages were still paid!) Aside from academy players, what’s the best and worst value we’ve got with some of our signings? They’ll defo be some positive and negative suggestions here I’m sure. First couple - Lambert, 2m. Schniederlin, 1m. Would even say players like Bertrand too; had his best years with us and really, was bought for a snip. On the negative side - Hoedt, Vestergaard, Carillo, Elyounoussi. Theres plenty more, but I’ll hand it over so everyone can have a turn!
