This. I always say there’s a reason why someone would play for Saints for a number of seasons. Despite any talent, there also has to be an elite mentality to play for one of the big boys… which a lot of our squad simply do not have. Flipping form or performances on or off, or simply not being good enough to sustain a level is what sets those two types of players apart - and would explain us going from abject to sensational and back to abject again. Sadly, we’re now just consistently abject.

I would happily see them pay any sort of money to get Poch in, if at all feasible. But even if we could offer the money, can we align with his ambitions and give him the a sustained amount of transfer money he would want to ‘challenge’. Id guess not ☹️

Yeah, I’m swaying towards the players part. There’s some obviously towing the line, others that aren’t. Obviously the players brought up the formation change, which he was persuaded by - and listened to. He’s aware the fans brought it up also, but categorically has said he doesn’t listen to that (the outside noise). I guess we’re getting bizarre lineups because he’s ostracised those who aren’t on board. More Moi and Diallo it is then. Ugh, this is a horrible mess.

I think you’re spot on. It’s been alluded to by a lot that the players actually do like him so I don’t think he’d say what he said yesterday about interference if he didn’t think he had some sort of solid backing behind him. I think he’s gone to war with Sports Republic, not the players. And he’s thrown the gauntlet down, big time.

Certainly my fear is if they do appoint what is seemingly a competent manager and we still turn out the same dross then… it’d be fair to suggest that there’s a huge chunk of responsibility lying with the players and senior management - not just the coaching staff etc.

You can only read between the lines but we’ve seen Ralph and NJ try with 5atb, fail, bring it back, fail, revert etc. also the baffling team selections. All of a sudden, Moi is a starter? Does he genuinely think he’s decent (he did say he liked him) or is this an insistence from elsewhere? Damn, I really don’t know.

If we were to have any chance, they have to do it. If nothing else, it would be unifying.
