  1. "He's different, and they (Beckford and Lambert) would actually make a great pair. He's a real handful in behind the defence and if you give him space, then he will expose you, so we will try to limit the space that he operates in, but that's easier said than done. "He's just a very, very good player and it's good for Leeds which is a club that's always been big for names, but they've managed to get one from within so to speak, so power to them" Interesting comment...!
  2. At half time, my mate actually turned to me and said 'I bet you we'll lose' I laughed at him and told him I'm not taking his bet because he was being ridiculous. There was simply no we'd lose, I told him. I don't even think he thought his prophecy would come true, but...
  3. Awwww, this exciting I'm going to be on a plane during the game though :-(
  4. LMAO, even neutrals are taking the **** out of them.... Gutted you skate f...ckers, we'll see you very, very soon.
  5. THE game that got me back into football again after Italia 90. That day I played it at school and thought 'wow, this is good!' and then decided to stay up and watch Saints with my dad. And that's how it all began..
  6. Haha, I was 11 then and I remember sitting in my bedroom listening that thinking - no, knowing we'd win! Amazing... I went mental when we scored and punched the bed infront of my ma, who told me off and told me it was 'only a game'
  7. Oi fishy, we're 2 leagues below you and we're playing even closer to Xmas than you. And it's freezing. And we're still taking 2000 odd to Leeds.
  8. Which didn't fix it for me. Oh well, I can try... fingers crossed... it's not easy living without FM in your life...
  9. Any news on the memory crash fix???
  10. I don't think so stink-fingers. And there go the excuses. 80 odd miles away and you can't even take 1,000 fans. In the Premier League. I'd expect it from a smaller northern team, but from a team as close as you lot are? Pathetic.
  11. In the Premier League at The Dell the 'yooooof' used to be cosigned to the reserve games (anyone who went to reserve games at The Dell will know what I mean!) but now we're lower down, regularly have tickets and seats available its all changed.
  12. I was just looking for the Derby game online! Has anyone still got it? I think I remember texting about 20 people a profanity laden 'Get In!' message on every goal that night, not to mention all the ones I received during game... Amazing night, shame it ended so badly but thats what this thread is about, the emotions, the feelings you get. It was definitely charged that night... As for the Derby inbreds.... they are from the same school of delusions of grandeur as Charlton and Pompey fans. It was hardly an isolated case of complete buffoonery - they were complete dickheads when they came down to SMS on both ocassions..
  13. Not necessarily related to being at a football match, but I remember scouring teams message boards for hours before ther Derby away game and seeing that practically the whole country wanted us to beat them after their kick-anything-that-moves tactics of the first leg....
  14. Would have loved to have been there for that one!!! I suspect Camara's v Naaaarwich will come up somewhere on this thread...
  15. Yes mate, this thread was with reference to you and our conversation! I think it may have been just after that Skacel missed.. Oh, what could have been The highlights... the commentator saying "It just had to be him!" as Rasiak slides along the turf... brilliant... the only time I'd ever joined in with the rather mundane 'Yellows!' chant...
  16. Steve, I never knew you switched across to Mac and, because I value your opinion (and not Essruu's, lol) I would like to ask you for it: So, do you much prefer Mac to any Windows setup now? Any drawbacks, limitations in your opinions?
  17. I'd recently had a conversation with a friend regarding those moments, as a fan, that are simply irreplaceable. The moments of pure ecstasy (or agony, if you're a masochist) we endure as football fans. THAT feeling you get (or got, especially when we were at The Dell) for an evening game... the smell of the putrid fast food, the icy air or perhaps the smell of the grass. For you, what memories (good and bad) do you remember the most? And of course, what are your favourite recurring feelings attending and watching football matches? I'll kick things off: Fondest memory in recent history - The Derby playoff final, away when Rasiak slammed home the winner (or equaliser on aggregate.) Tumbling over bodies, people you don't even know hugging and embracing, screaming at the Derby fans and giving them the obligatory (and deserved) ****** gestures. Worst memory in recent history - Any of the humblings from last year with a team full of youngsters blessed with technique but not the necessary guidance to succeed in a tough league, capitulate. Recurring Feelings - Like above; the icy air and the whole 'pre-match' routine (that said, the pre-match routine differs from person-to-person.) Conversely, some of the balmier, early fixtures at the end of Summer too. The smell, the sounds, the familiar sights... Gah, you can probably tell I'm looking forward to coming home this Xmas and watching the Saints at home for the first time in ages, freezing my arse off and paying out of pocket for refreshments in a packed, shivering concourse)
  18. I would estimate we would take 3,000-4,000 to MK and stand a very good chance of filling SMS if scores are balanced and the pricing for the home leg is reasonable.
  19. I'd imagine we would take our full allocation, regardless of the price and the festive season - likewise at all the big teams we would. We'd struggle (all things considered) for games at Stoke, Hull etc but I honestly don't think we'd take less than 1,000 to a Prem game if we were up there. The good news is we'll be able to my theory soon "Sleeping Giant" LMFAO.... I remember the Skates using that turn of phrase.
  20. I'm with 'The 9' on this one. Whilst it doesn't affect majorly effect anything, to have someone continuously run onto the pitch after every game will lead a group of rather less-than-endowed-in-the-brain-department-mongers to think that it is acceptable and, undoubtedly, they'll copy. In turn, another group of less-than-endowed-in-the-brain-department-mongers will probably copy them and eventually, the club will be fined because of it. Oh, and its pretty ****ing pointless if the game is essentially meaningless.
  21. But surely being as deluded they are about so many things, then why are they so realistic about their **** team? Surely they think they can beat Chelsea?
  22. LMAO - I can hear the excuses now: 'It's xmas time' 'Just been to Sunderland away' (er, that will only apply to 150 of your fans then, LMAO) 'Chelsea tickets are expensive' blah blah blah - The fish fiddlers should be enjoying the Prem while they're still in it - they ain't going to be seeing it again any time soon....
  23. Makes sense, coming from Naaarwich. I bet all of their squad are called 'Martin'
  24. Bart :smt055:
  25. Anything but the regurgitated X-factor crap for me. I don't even like RATM but I'm putting a tenner in. X-factor stands for everything that is wrong about the music industry.
