Likewise... last thing I heard about the Filadelfia was the repeated utterings of the local council saying that they would refurbish it over and over again yet nothing ever happened to it... The two books on Italian football from John Foot and Paddy Agnew give a good insight into these things. On another note, I remember 'managing' Torino once on FM and resurrecting the Filadelfia. Oh good times

There is quite alot that could be regarded as a quick **** round here, to be fair. I do concede though, the passion is really still with Saints but like anyone, I do need a football fix and that's my local team, so....
-
He did. They've got Tommy Mooney at the moment, but he only played 3 games last year. They've got another two young english lads on the books I believe, understandable, there is a sizeable ex-pat community. One of the youngsters who goes to Aloha College is also going on trial with Fulham... can't remember his heritage though, think he might be Scandanavian. Just missed out on promotion to Liga Adelante last year, lost in the playoffs. Know that feeling oh too well! Looking forward to prospective trips to Spanish Morrocco again though this year.

Desperate call for players in Leeds this weekend
Crab Lungs replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
I am one of the gulity parties still unsure of my attendance at Leeds tomorrow. Kinda difficult to get the time off at this very moment... So, I apologise for the uncertaintity with me at the moment, Steve. -
I have to say, I do like reading these threads. I was considering following Malaga whilst I was over here but the nearest club is UD Marbella so I will prob buy an ST there for next season. But of course, however much it pains me, my true love is still SFC.

My first initial reaction was £35m However... Benzema, £35m too? Hmmmm

Haha oh dear Portsmouth, must be quite tough on you boys... two leagues above us and we are still laughing AT YOU. Hows your new german superstar Eugene Bopp doing? Ha, ha, ha. PS: See you in 1 or 2 years time... if not, be sure to wave to us on your descent.
-
LOL at Portsmouth trialling a 3rd division French League player and Eugene Bopp - not good enough for CREWE. Lol, i think the wheels have well and rtruly fell off the Portsmouth bandwagon. See you in a year or twos time, fish boys...

Well worth a look around if you've got a few minutes and fancy a lol http://improveverywhere.com/

Stallone was the perfect actor, I counter. I mean, who else could have delivered such performances in that style? He cast himself perfectly IMO.
-
Barca must be so stupid. Hmmm.... time to get in contact about a swap involving Xavi and Iniesta for Wotton and Pulis?
-
Have to agree about Rocky all of a sudden becoming capable enough to be a diplomat for World Peace. And whats this? Surely not... http://www.themovieblog.com/2008/05/rocky-7-may-happen

Thing is, up until Davenport 'meeting' Jakobsson, Davenport was a superb centre half at Coventry and showed a little promise for Spurs. As soon as he met Jakobsson, he want to tosh. Much like everyone else in our defence. Nilsson is still the only footballer I have seen bottle a 90-10 in his favour challenge.
-
Nilsson and Jakobsson were two of the worst players I have ever seen for Saints. Davenport isn't even close to those two bottlers.

Seriously, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed watching through them again (though I missed out V, which was a tragic mistake of a film.) A few minor flaws though 1. Apollo should never have died 2. Paulie was continuously a ***** and should have been laid out. 3. He should have fought Drago again at somepoint, or Clubber Lang 4. V was appalling. 5. Paulie was continuously a ***** and should have been laid out. 6. The Robot in IV shouldd have been dusted off for Rocky Balboa. Graham Opinions?

Isn't his boyfriend from around here?

Please explain to me how that displays a lack of ambition? He's 36 and will get plenty of opportunity to move on in the future. So, by your reckoning, Matt Le Tissier was someone who 'lacked ambition' too, right? Or was he simply comfortable where he was, loyal and appreciative to the club and it's fans?
-
Some great comments on there from Skates, I particularly liked (and lol'd) at 'the most loyal fans in the world' lmfao.
-
lmfao, scored twice for them when they drew with Havant. released by .... CREWE. LOL, oh dear, Skates.
-
Sorry, seen this on another thread too...

It's gotta be evil - look at these poor Turkish sods 'celebrating' Darius Vassell's transfer to their club ;-) http://video.turk.net/video/izle/17374/Ankaragucu-Darius-Vassel-i-Ankara-ya-getirdi---ANKARA/ 3,000 of them, apparently.
-
I echo that sentiment. He is ****ing abominable at RB, truly terrible. CB he is very good. I wonder if Kelvin would like to see him again though...
-
Ahmet Brkovic David Connolly (on trial at QPR though) Ugo Ehiogu Jon Fortune Stephen Foster Ryan France Keith Gillespie... Ony looked through a few pages..
-
Makes sense IMO... Why spunk cash on transfers when there are equally capable players available on free transfers???????? Natural thought process of any good manager, I would have thought :S

Woah!!!! Carberry.. he's right under our nose and I missed it too! People keep saying 'its not a time to experiment' but **** that, this is exactly the problem in the first place. The selectors never deviate from their chosen pool. How do we know if anyone can do any better if we only select from the same 14-15 players all the time? Regardless, it's gonna be Bell, whatever we say. Shah and Key will probably be sniffing around, so we'll have 3 players who haven't cracked it at Test level on our shortlist, whilst the likes of prospects like Denly, Moore and Carberry etc miss out. Again. Someone on BBC suggested bringing Ramprakash back by saying 'if you're good enough, it doesn't matter how old you are' Whilst I agree with the point, hasn't Ramprakash got a poor Test record? Granted, he's been continously prolific at County level, but for Test? That would be interesting though. Can't stop thinking.... Come on Tresco, just one last hurrah....
