Interesting that the players you note as having eye catching debuts were Walcott (now playing for Arsenal and England), Bale (one of the best players in the PL) and AOC (transferred for 15mil to Arsenal). Surely this proves that you can read something into a young players debut.

The ticket information area of the website is terrible.

Trying to carry favour with Dune? Don't be an idiot. I was taking the **** out of his ridiculous views. -
What the fek is a woman doing presenting MOTD?

At least she isn't looking across the camera, with Hansen sitting above her. That would make her look REALLY weak! -

Yeah, I reckon I could have scored 9-10 goals in this team this season. The advantage with me is that I'd look like I was trying really hard so the fans would love me. Guly is sh*t indeed. Funny. -
Wierd sentence. You have no idea why, except for here is the actual reason.

It's not news of a confirmed signing, it's news of a likely one though. It's still news. If the 10 o clock news announced that there is was a very high chance of a hurricane hitting Austria tonight, would you sit there moaning that it wasn't actually news, just a heads up? -
I appreciate that we lack quality in depth to an extent, I've been watching the same team as you, I would LOVE for us to make some quality signings. What annoys me though is the foot stamping that goes on demanding that we buy RIGHT NOW without any understanding of what this involves, or any thought put towards the financial implications.

Here's one for you. "What if" we spunked all our money and more on players we couldn't really afford and then didn't get the promotion? Oh wait, we've been there before and we all know the answer. If it was as easy as you make out, every bloody club would be doing it!
-
Surely the phrase 'affordable price' is only usable if you actually know how much money we have.
-
Do we have to go through this argument EVERY transfer window. You are talking about multi-million pound business deals. It would be lovely to think they could be easily wrapped up on our terms ready for January 1st, but like most things you have to wait for a good deal if you aren't going to just chuck money at it.

I don't understand what sort of "gimme" it is to other clubs. Please explain.
-
I'm afraid to say, we are normal supporters. Look at Paul Lambert having to tell the Norwich fans to get off the teams back following two straight promotions and sitting comfortable in the prem.

What a load of sanctimonious guff. It's not always possible for people to check the website every day, there wasn't even 24 hours notice so you could have checked the day before and still missed out anyway. It really isn't too much to expect the ticket office to give a few days notice of tickets going on sale, especially given that's what people have come to expect. I couldn't go to Brighton anyway but it's reasonable for people to be annoyed at missing out.

I honestly don't know. Promotion would be great, I want to see us in the best league possible, competing with the best teams. But to win the FA Cup from this division would give an absolute lifetime of memories, it would be astonishingly good. I think I might just opt for the trophy. Obviously it's not a choice we can make, and we aren't going to win the cup, so it's a fairly silly argument.

http://www.joysandsorrows.co.uk/2011/05/carling-cup-or-premiership-survival/ How about the person who started this PLUS the first 5 to reply and another 3 on there? Must've been that good luck you wished me.

A friend of mine struggled because it was advertised and then put on sale immediately the next day. The 'on sale' date wasn't advertised for any period of time, unlike normally, meaning that many people didn't even know they were available.
-
Is that true though?

Let's hope Turkish doesn't see this...

Totally disagree. Hammond was immense at Pompey.

I did think this upon watching it back. There's a couple of defenders in the way and they're all in a line, he would've had to dink one over the top or something. Certainly wasn't as easy as many made out at the time.
-
In my opinion, it's a bit of a waste to put a "proper defender" on the post when for 99% of the season all they do is stand there or occasionally swing a leg at a clearance. I would much rather have Richardson marking somebody in the box than wasting his defensive skills on the post.
-
But if you had aspirations of playing in Europe it would potentially need to support both seats AND standing.

Barnard is a class finisher. Could really have done with him this season.
