  1. Oh god. Really? You want to have it explained. People found it funny because it was a response to the Steeeeeve chants, banter aimed at those who had been shouting steeeeeve. You may not find it funny, but quite a lot of people did and what harm does that do exactly?
  2. Can somebody help me out. I am genuinely confused. Although this sounds like a ****take I'm genuinely interested in which of the following are considered "mongish", and which are not. On matchday I.... Go to the pub for midday and meet up with my mates, normally getting through 4 pints before heading to the ground. I will also have a burger. Once at the ground we sneak in a quick bottle of lager and put on a bet between the four of us. Arrive in my seat as the teams are coming out. Stand throughout the game because everybody does where I am. Sing my heart out for the entire game (although I'm more of a joiner inner than a song starter). I will sing the Cortese song, and Barmy Army, I will chant Steeeeve and generally try to enjoy myself as much as possible, especially if Saints are winning but often also if they aren't. Clap quite a lot. Shake my head at people who hurl abuse at the players. Occasionally try to make a tactical insight, but more out of enthusiasm than any real football knowledge, so will often be wrong. Sometimes I will shout "switch it" or "close him down" although again more out of enthusiasm than any real knowledge.. Not boo. Shout SHOOOOOOOOOOOT even when I don't particularly think the player should shoot. Shout at the linesman even when I think he's probably correct. At half-time I will occasionally buy a hot dog or a pie if I am hungry. If it's busy one of the four of us will go down on 43 mins to queue for the beers, usually apologising to those in our row. Go mental and hug my mates and total strangers if we score an important goal. Get frustrated if we're not doing well but try not to get too moany. Sing "Nigel give us a wave" only if we're winning comfortably. Notice that Jose Fonte's song is not rythmically true to the original, but sing it anyway because I don't think it matters. Sometimes shout "who?" when the opposition make a sub. Will enjoy shouting this more when it IS a player I've heard of. Generally never chant "easy", the exception being that I did for the first time ever when we scored the third goal against Middlesborough, because it was seriously easy. Cheer if Pompey lose. Get slightly excited if I see a player outside the ground after the game. Pop into the pub for one last pint if we've won. Immediately start looking forward to the next game.
  3. I still like "I see De Ridder on the right" but we've tried it a couple of times and ended up on our own :-(
  4. At first I thought it was just a bit of fun for a one off dull game but after these threads today I'm going to be doing my best to make sure it REALLY catches on. In a similar vein I have recently made an extra effort to shout "BARMY ARMY" as loud as possible during the red and white chant.
  5. I'm sorry it offended you and your desire for football to be exactly like it was 25 years ago, but I enjoyed it, and should we start playing keepball and taking the **** in another match I hope we do it again.
  6. I liked it.
  7. They love him.
  8. West Ham?
  9. Actually the gist of it was that it's unfair to keep fans in the ground when there is no reason to do so. Against Millwall they believed there was no reason to do it. Clearly they were proved wrong but it is quite an important distinction. I don't remember him saying they were completely against the idea, just that they only wanted to use it when they deemed it neccesary.
  10. Absolutely. For so long we seemed to sign players who then got progressively worse whilst they were here. At last we seem to have coaching setup that noticeably improves our players.
  11. I bloody hate that.
  12. Why?
  13. I sing it. I really don't understand what people are getting so worked up about.
  14. We only have 1 away game each but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Have spoken to a lot of people who just don't fancy it.
  15. You would rather read a rumour made up by "the papers" than one made up by a Saintsweb member?
  16. No, I really don't.
  17. MK Dons at home last year, the celebration for our winner was bloody mental. This season I would say Leeds and Forest have been the two craziest in the Northam. I brought a mate along to the Forest game, he's actually a Liverpool fan but loves coming to our games occasionally. When we scored our third I turned to see him getting pretty much sexually assualted by the big ginger guy who sits to our left. I left them to it.
  18. Whereabouts do you usually sit out of interest? In the Northam the bottle bar has made a recent comeback and has helped somewhat, although it's still not great.
  19. Ok, as an example, where would the power for all these magical new tills come from? Are they networked? If so, where will the network connections come from? I don't disagree that it needs improving by the way, just pointing out that if it was that simple they probably would've done it already.
  20. It's pretty harsh to blame Guly for Hammond's sending off. Yes he played a loose pass but there was no need for Hammond to go in for it like that when already on a yellow. Hammond got himself sent off, Guly didn't do it for him.
  21. I think that just shows that you were either quite ****ed, have terrible eyesight, or just weren't paying attention.
  22. The trouble is it's always very easy to assume something like that would be "simple", but if the infrastructure isn't there for more tills then it becomes a huge job to do it all around the ground. The club will look at how much money they are potentially losing, and it's probably not much because most people do get what they want even if it's a bit of a rush at half time.
  23. Guly is a tough one. Can have a tough game as he did today, but always capable of popping up with some quality to win us points. Great pass for the goal today.
  24. Lambert? Really??
  25. But...but.....I thought the BBC HATED us. Why are they publishing this? WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT US!!! Oh wait, they are.
