  1. One of the issues is that diving has become acceptable provided there is contact. Commentators condone it saying "if there was contact he has a right to go down". Referees have contributed to this as they no longer give a penalty unless a player goes to ground.
  2. I had a Liverpool supporting mate along with me for this one and he was MASSIVELY impressed.
  3. I wonder if that's the incident mclaren was banging on about?
  4. To be fair, we thought he spent most of the game doing a man marking job on Greening, leaving Hammond free to boss the midfield. I think he took one for the team in this respect. He does need to cut out the occasional sloppy passing in the centre of the pitch though.
  5. Who would you have played there?
  6. He was at fault for the first goal (although he wasn't the only one)as the man who put it in the net was his man. I did though feel that his seeming out of position wa largely down to the system we were playing leaving him vulnerable.
  7. To be fair to Morgan, it looked to me as though he'd been asked to mark Greening out of the game, which limited his opportunities.
  8. If anybody here is into pavement, they are another great example. Stephen Malkmus spends most of the time out of tune but it's still bloody genius somehow.
  9. yre I wonder if anybody has ever had a member of the ticket office staff just say they have no idea about the attendance. It's almost as if they're under instruction to just take a guess.
  10. If they wanted it to kick off they wouldn't have bothered with all that stuff at the Leeds game, just let it kick off then. Such a stupid theory. They are trying to tread the fine line between enforcing order and being accused of overreacting. An example of this was the Burnley home game where things were getting tetchy, so the police brought out the dogs. On that occasion they were accused of causing the trouble by being too heavy handed. They can't win.
  11. I was quite aware of your 'clever' play on words. Just pointing out that the phrase "he's born by the sea" makes no sense.
  12. How far from 'your seats' did you have to move?
  13. And it makes no sense.
  14. and therein lies the problem. Police take strong action to avoid trouble, police critisised.
  15. Bloody loved him when he first joined. We used to bet on him every game as he always looked likely to score cutting in off the right.
  16. Who won the match?
  17. I've not seen anybody say it's "fantastic", but lots of sensible people happy to take a wait and see approach rather than assuming he's sh*te.
  18. I would quite like Saints to sign me up, but I can't see it happening.
  19. I'm pleased the bubble burst. It felt uncomfortable. Winning runs just ain't saintly.
  20. Nobody is saying he's not allowed to be as good as le tiss, just that he isn't.
  21. and what do you know about it?
  22. Not massively exciting but a good chance to progress if we beat Swindon
  23. I just download positional schedules from the sigames site, assign players, and then ignore it.
  24. I do have some sympathy with the police. There are a lot of people on here with the mystical power of hindsight.
