  1. I've tried googling this but no luck, wonder if anybody can help... I had a random memory pop back to me yesterday, it's of being at a game at the Dell, I was with my Uncle so probably not that old. At a guess it was between 1990-1994. Pretty sure it was the last game or last home game of the season and I think we might've been playing Man City. I remember a bloke turning to my uncle and saying something like "it's all about to kick off, best get him out of here", and then remember us leaving pretty bloody quickly. So, for those with good memories, can anybody remember this game? Did we play Man City in the last home game one season? Any memories of the match or if things did get a bit lively at the end? Of course, my memory might have just made this up.
  2. and Sunday also showed that he can't rugby tackle for sh*t.
  3. I think the whole Cortese thing is just a reflection on Football itself. So Cortese worked in the financial industry right? Well in that industry if you say to your team "I expect better, we are not doing well enough" then that is a kick up the arse and the team think they better buck their ideas up. However, you say that in football and everybody assumes the manager is about to get the boot, rather than taking it as the kick up the arse it was intended to be.
  4. No no no no no no no no no no no no. I can't believe we are all having this conversation again. Ricky Lambert is a Saints football genius, but he is NOT better than Carlton Cole.
  5. Me too, I was ecstatic at getting my seats in block 134 as I thought thats where the Northam was heading. Was looking forward to an amazing atmosphere. In the end it was just us and a few lads around us singing, I did get a bit frustrated with the silent majority eventually.
  6. My mate Joe has scored 47 goals this season in his Sunday League. I bet Heskey wouldn't have scored that many. Joe for England!!!
  7. In block 134 area I was really really impressed that I didn't once have to queue to get a beer. Unfortunately this was tempered by the 20 minute queue for a p*ss. They got the bars/toilet ratio slightly wrong methinks.
  8. I was in the Sports Bar just off Wembley Way, great atmosphere, great day.
  9. As it fell to him and he turned I thought he was taking too long. I wanted him to take it in on goal. Then he just slammed it bottom corner, which is probably why he's the best player in league 1 and I'm a right back in a crap sunday league.
  10. Alpine, chill, enjoy life. Nobody thinks it's the Champions League. It is however a good day out. If you can't enjoy it because you are too worried about it not being the FA Cup then that is your loss. Personally, the last 4-5 years of watching Saints have been for the most part utterly miserable, so I am going to bloody well enjoy the moment.
  11. Whats the second verse?
  12. Really??? Just recently I've been noticing him all the time, amazing the number of times I think he's in trouble and is about to get caught in possesion, only for him to cleverly turn and suddenly be in acres of space... Pardew has done a brilliant job with Schneiderlin.
  13. When Puncheons shot was cleared off the line I briefly looked away, and had no idea how the ball ended up at Papa's feet. That is seriously comical defending.
  14. Strange atmosphere. Tried to join in with the songs in the Northam but for the most part there was silence around us and it was hard work.
  15. Spooky, mine ended up with the top 8 in the same order, with Charlton on 81 and us on 78.
  16. Nonetheless, it could have been a lot lot worse.
  17. Wierd article. No quotes.
  18. 134 row 24. Almost the exact equivalent of my SMS "seat", result.
  19. My personal opinion is that if managers and players want to moan about the refs they should stop ****ing cheating. I get frustrated with refs a lot, but being a ref in the professional game is a tough job, made infinitely harder by the fact that the players are waiting for ANY opportunity to fool them. In the case of Mascherano/Valencia. Whilst Liverpool might have a case, at the end of the day Mascherano was dragging him back having been beaten for pace. If he hadn't have done it there wouldn't have been a penalty, he's only got himself to blame, end of.
  20. Why on earth don't they at least group their fans together? Better to have oe packed block than 5 almost empty ones.
  21. Fair play to anybody who can sit in their end. I honestly think I would rather watch it on TV :-)
  22. I know, I know, but there's something strangely compelling about it. I know it's very easy to say as my tickets came monday, but I really really really don't understand what the panic is. I think you all need David Luker to give you a big hug and tell you everything is going to be ok
  23. Why do I keep reading this thread? You people are doing my head in!
