    Loan Market

Forgot to say in the OP: the other FL clubs without any loanees are Forest, QPR and Swansea in the Championship and, surprisingly, Hartlepool.

    Loan Market

Now that we have signed Guly, Saints are 1 of only 5 FL teams without a player on loan. On top of that, over half of the PL teams have players on loan. Therefore, I think a rule should brought in immediately whereby every team is deducted 3 points for each player it has on loan. Seriously though, I have mixed emotions about the loan market. I can see it's value for sending out promising youngsters to gain valuable experience (as we did with Lallana, and so many others) and as a 'try before you buy'; possibly also to help out financially to get high wage earners of the books (ala Rasiak) but then again one could say it is the club's fault for giving such players too big a contract. I certainly believe that it is crazy when clubs like Citeh have 12 players out on loan, and especially so when they include the likes of Bridge and Santa Cruz. I definitely do not think players should be loaned to teams in the same division as this does give an unfair advantage. (i.e. Bridge and Santa Cruz can play against all their title rivals but not against Citeh.) All in all, I think that loans should be restricted to players aged 21 or under, or those which have a set in concrete 'option to buy'. What are your thoughts?
  3. Don't be so sure....... if we sign Rooney before mid-day today, and Drogba in case he gets injured, and Teves in case he gets injured, and Torres in case he gets injured, maybe one of those will make the starting XI; unless they are all injured of course.
  4. I think we've concluded that it's either the ones with bibs that are playing, or the ones without bibs are playing, or a mixture of the two. In other words, haven't got a clue mate!
  5. Were either or both of them wearing bibs?

    Legal Blurb

Thanks guys. Passed on all comments and recommended she speaks to a local lawyer.

    Legal Blurb

Thanks. I'll put this to them too.

    Legal Blurb

That would be the most sensible thing. They are probably being tight and thought they would phone their local 'native English speaker' instead of an expensive call to some legal eagle in the US. However, I will put this to them. Thanks

    Legal Blurb

The only other thing I was told during the phone call was that there was pre-amble about not being allowed to use it WITHIN the United States. This is also why I believe it is okay for them to use it OUTSIDE of the U.S.

    Legal Blurb

Anybody any good at understanding legal blurb? I've just had a phone call from a local friend asking me whether the following means they can or can't use a certain product lable: 'not withstanding anything to the contrary the product lable may be used outside of the United States' I think it means that they CAN, however, if I'm wrong they might get into serious legal difficulties. How do you understand the blurb?
  11. At the very least players shouldn't be able to be loaned to teams in the same division. To the OP: Bent is a full international with years of experience in the prem; AOX is a 17 year old with half a season's experience in L1. Based on that 1-2m, at best. However, there really is no comparison. 2 totally different players.

  13. A J.Wright in a Saints shirt? Shudder!!
  14. Apart from the 2 goal-line clearances you mean?
  15. ....and when you consider that the players don't perform for him...... imagine how good we'll be when they do I agree with you TDD, he has got the team playing excellent football. Very happy we have him (as I always have been).
  16. I was at that match too. Stood behind the goal that MLT put 2 into; could have sworn it was The Archers though. Maybe my old memory aint what it used to be?
  17. Happy with that! As others have said, win-win situation. Just go at them: if we manage to beat them great; if we lose it won't dent morale and we can concentrate on promotion. Will TDD or Dr Who be attending I wonder?
  18. And the excellent start to 2011 continues. 3 Saints wins; 3 Poopy losses What an wonderful feeling to be able to replace the MoM, the amazing Lallana, with someone like Guly who then scores a cracking goal. I hope the press realise that we made only 1 fewer change than the 'pool. I want another home tie next round, and don't really care who against (although the winner of ManUre/Scousers would be nice).
  19. That sounded like a cracking first half. More of the same please, but with goals, in the second.
  20. I'm about to go stick my toad-in-a-hole, as soon as the half-time whistle goes.
  21. Nice one Dave: 'our forwards are doing well, pulling off the cb's and getting in behind the fb's'
  22. Kitson sent off (early) today. I guess a straight red, so he will be unavailable another 3 games - whilst still picking up his HUGE wages!
  23. From the pics on the OS it looks like Lallana will be rested/on the bench for this one. (That's if you are a believer of the bibs being the starting 11 theory.)
