A real lol moment!

I would go with this as well. Have Morgan holding, with Guly and Hammond trying to get up alongside Rickie as much as possible going forward giving plenty of height in the box for crosses from the wings.

Just watched it and was very impressed. He is obviously very proud to be our manager and you can the hunger he has to be a success here. As others have mentioned I liked the fact he said straight away that: he wants a win tomorrow night; he wants us to be the best team in the league; that it's war and he will use everything in the arsenal to win it; that he is sure he can improve the players; that it came across that he will be able to bring 2 or 3 new faces should he want to. Also, having watched the Kelvin interview as well, it seems the players are happy to have him here and are all in a good frame of mind.

Great post. Very well put. As the days have gone by I have been thinking more and more that if NA wasn't appointed we would be missing out on him. I'm glad he his here. Come on Nigel, show us all what you're made of!
-
As you say he got Scunny out of this Division twice, and the reason he had to do that was because they did not have the resources to cement there place in the one above. On the first occasion he got them up there this meant they came straight back down. At his 2nd attempt he managed to keep them there, with still very limited resources. Again, as you point out, this would not be the case with us. Therefore, I am also of the opine that he will serve us well once he does get us up. How he would cope in the prem is, of course, totally unknown to anyone at this time.

Below is exactly what I posted last night. I stand by every word of it: ^^^^^^What a bunch of fekin drama queens ^^^^^^^ I honestly feel sorry for Adkins if he does come here. There are obviously a number of 'fans' who clearly don't want him to come and who will be on his back for any perceived reason (to them). It is also no real surprise that many of those who do not want him are also the ones who don't like NC much either. Pathetic. If he had signed for us this afternoon Wilkins would have still been in charge for the match tomorrow. There is nothing NA could have done in ways of preparing the team. They have trained all week with this game in mind. Him coming today would have changed nothing about tomorrow. So him sticking to his contract and doing his job today, and probably tomorrow, means he isn't interested/doesn't care about us? What were all of your guys thoughts of Kenwyne when he spat his dummy out over a move? I honestly hope Adkins does come here. I believe he would be great at SMS and that we could win the league under him. If that were to happen I wonder how many of the drama queens will post apologies on here? (I certainly wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them).

Les Reed - has and will have NOTHING to do with the first team
Minsk replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Seeing as you haven't bothered answering my question I will ask again...... Where/when did Pardew say anything about a text? Or do you admit that was, in fact, a false statement on your behalf? To my mind, failure to answer this simplest of questions is confirmation that you posted a fabrication because it suits your agenda. Over to you.......... -

As others have asked, please point me to where Pardew has ever mentioned this text. As far as I'm aware the ONLY mention of it was from a journo who has ALWAYS slagged off Saints. AND, even there was such a text, how do we know in what context this 5 minutes was mentioned? It could have been NC wanting to learn a managers thinking in such a situation, or that as we were well in control of the match that maybe 10 mins would have been more useful for the new guy, or that another player (a tired Rickie, for example) could have benefitted from 10-15 mins rest at the end of a match we were in so much control of. Most certainly, the text COULD have begun, 'Well done. What a fantstic result! As an aside......' Neither you, nor I, nor any of the others who are so quick to try and beat NC with any vague rumour, know the truth about this. I await your 'pointing me to where Pardew stated the above' or 'your retraction of this statement' with total disbelief that either will happen. -
Well..... this is the first time in a loooong time that I have tuned in expecting to hear Saints lose. Lets hope this means they won't!!!!!!!!!

Another totally baseless pop at NC................ Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............................................................

All of them. Probably about 50% in the Archers though.
-
I think he always on the gin, judging by his one dimensional posts.
-
Gain Kindles That should should raise some emotions and put fire into the players' performances.

Excellent! Cheers!!

Mowbray or Adkins for me (in that order).
-
Having watched the Plymouth match on that site, I think I might not bother......
-
So you would be absolutely livid if any of the following were to be our manager: Maurinho; Wenger; SAF; O'Neill; Bilic; Strachan; etc; etc? I guess you never, ever, cheered Marion or Killer or Claus or Bale, etc? And this also goes a long way towards showing why you dislike Cortese so much. You must also be disgusted that we are owned by a German/Swiss family. Come back Rupert and the PLC, all is forgiven!!!!!! Rolly eyed smillie thingy.........
-
Bugger, why did Swindon get the 3rd? I had lost out on an extra point in the prediction league. No great surprise that we lost. The players were never going to be up for it. No great surprise at the 'Only one Alan Pardew' chants (I would have sung it as well if I were there). I only hope that we play better on Saturday and that we get a GOOD manager in ASAP. N.B. By good I mean O'Neill, Mowbray or O'Driscoll. Oh, and Barny is going to be a big loss for the next 3 games, especially with AL missing and not having brought in anybody else.
-
It'sworking great for me. 2nd game in a row. Wots happening???????
-
I think the only (0.01% probability) reason that O'Neill could come here would be the thought of a totally different challenge. There is no doubt that he is an excellent and could walk into most jobs (he is, IMO, far better than Benitez and look where he ended up......) I sincerely doubt he will come here, but will hold onto this dream until we are told the underwhelming truth of who our new manager will be. As others have said, O'Neill apart, there is no-one out there at the moment who I would have picked over Pardew. Certainly now Zola, Coppell, Wise, or any others touted on this thread so far.
-
I am astonished by this news. What crazy timing: directly after an incredible 4-0 win and performance away from home; and the day before the transfer window shuts!! It reminds me of the timing in our prem relagation season of when RL sacked Sturrock. To all the NC bashers out there, I am starting to think you are right. Madness, complete madness.

Bristol Rovers (0) V (4) Saints,Post match wooting..
Minsk replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
That sounded like an excellent game. Great result. Fonte and Barney notch their first for the club abd first for the season respectively; Lambo and Lallana also on the scoresheet; Guly sounded impressive in his short time on the pitch. Plus, Poopy losy (again) and Bompey threw away a 3 goal lead. And, SainstPlayer worked trouble free for the entire match. What a fantastic day! -
Well, that's the first 3 points from the 21 available.
-
According to 'Soccerbase' Harte is only 5'7'', not exactly the height of a dominant CB to play alongside Fonte. Also, at 33 it's hardly building for the future. I would be VERY surprised if this were true. Le Fondre would be a decent signing, but would still leave Rickie as the only big CF.
