  1. No, he is in his 70's and retired. Ex-railway.
  2. It's okay, but don't think I'll buy it. Mrs Minsk doesn't like it very much. My almost 7 year old daughter thinks it's great. Hope the Northam remember to sing: we are the boys in the white, and red stripes!
  3. My father always comments on how impeccably dressed the women over here are, especially when compared to those in the UK. I have to agree with him. Not only are the women here (on average) far better looking, with much better bodies, than those back home - they also take great care over their appearance too. One of the best things about living in this part of the world!!!
  4. I can only reiterate what others have said: very promising to see Chamberlain get the number 11 - a good indication that he is staying vacant number 5 - hopefully a sign that we have a new CB coming in obviously no numbers for Puncheon (good) and Fish (bit of a shame) mean they will be far from SMS come the season's start Adam obviously wanted to retain his number 20, just as he chose to do last season Nice to see a RB with number 2; a LB with number 3; CB with 6, 15 & 16; attacking players with 7, 11 & 10; midfielders with 4 & 8; and a striker with 9. All sensible squad numbers for a change. Happy with that!!!
  5. Good post Adrian. However, you will not convince Lardy, Doody, et al, that he did well last season. As soon as Adkins was appointed they made it perfectly clear they were not happy, and that anything bar auto-promotion would have had them calling for his head. I fully expect them to start doing so if we are below mid-table a couple of months into the new season/more than 10 points from the play-offs at Christmas. P.S. I believe Lambert took over at Norwich only 1 or 2 games into the season. I know for certain he was the opposition manager who gave them a 7-1 drubbing, at home, first game of the season. If I remember correctly, he was their new manager only a few days later.
  6. 15 + the 5 allowed loanees (in a natch-day squad) = the minimum 20 they have to have in order to get the golden share. Expect 5 loanees from the prem just before the season starts. Quality over quantity again - I hope this time around they suffer from many more injuries and suspensions than they did last season.
  7. Which is exactly what he should be doing at this stage of pre-season. Then get closer to his actual preferred starting 11 as we get closer to the start of the season. Given that we have only brought in one new player, so far, I recken Nige has a good idea as to what his preferred starting 11 would be (given certain player's fitness levels, the opposition, tactics being empolyed that game, etc - which is why it is all about having a good and fit SQUAD not FIRST 11). P.S. What time is kick-off today?
  8. It's a shame he was bailed to complete his exams, and it's a shame he wasn't sent down for longer.
  9. This thread is crazy. Why do so many people want to sign a player who cannot get into the starting 11 and is occasionally on the bench for a rival team in this division. Others feel he is better than Forte, who has way more experience and YES who regularly played/plays out wide. Mind you the chief advocate of this is a person who has rarely said a good word about Adkins. Yes, we need to improve our squad. But the way to do this is not the Lowe way, buying lots of fringe players; it is by doing what Adkins says he wants to do - buy players WHO ARE BETTER THAN THOSE ALREADY IN THE TEAM - not the squad, the team!!!
  10. “When the police officers arrived, one of the girls cried her eyes out and the other just laughed.” We need to know, which one was crying? The muffer or the muffee??
  11. Wot you talkin about Willis?
  12. methinks a few on here don't get sarcasm.......
  13. No Kelvin, no Barnard, no Cork........ having to play Harding in CM.......... our season is over..... FFS!!!!!
  14. I'm in 2 monds about a possible transfer embargo. On one hand, if they can't sign anyone they won't be able to field a team and so won't get the 'golen share' - i.e. no Skates in the division. On the other hand, it would be great if they were only allowed to sign frees who would be paid less than 1k per week. That would give them an epic squad and us a fun-filled season seeing them bottom of the league throughout it. Of course, we all know this is just dramland and that really they will be allowed to sign whoever they want at whatever crazily high wages they demand.
  15. Gibraltar was the destination of my first ever flight. It's fun!!
  16. Yep, all of those, although not necessarily all of them on every woman there!
  17. This. A much wider age range in Benidorm. No excursions. You make your own agenda and fun. Plenty of loose women around though.
  18. Loads of times, my parents lived there for 7 years - at the Poniente end. It's okay, if you like being surrounded by pi.sed up Brits on your holiday. Personally, I depart on Tuesday for 3.5 weeks to the Crimea and southern Ukraine. Starting in Yalta and ending in Odessa, with a few other places - including Balaklava and Sevastopol - enroute.

  20. When they show the crowd there is one guy almost p...ing himself with laughter. Absolutely fantastic. The 'keeper must be gutted.

  22. And on top of this there would be costs such as transfer fees, signing on fees, agent's fees, etc. As rallyboy keeps teling us, the sums just don't add up!
  23. Being ex-Quilley myself I can only add that it wasn't any better in the mid-late 70's either. As for the other 2 'schools' I've quoted, my brother was expelled from Barton Peveril in the early 70's for slapping a couple of teachers. Upon expulsion he was sent to Toynbee (this was when it was still in Toynbee Road). I think they didn't want to send him to Quilley in case he walked across the field for another pop or two.
  24. I think he would be decent cover for Lambert, especially if signed on a free.
  25. Maybe it's time for to either a - stop posting on this thread or b- move back to the UK I think I may be a bit too close to Poopy's new owner's friends for comfort. Oh, and I agree with you re the FaPPT. What a complete non-entity that is. Firt they pass a person who doesn't exist and then they pass someone with numerous allegations of money laundering....
