Will be decent back-up to Scholes.
-
Must win game, IMO! If not we might only just scrape into the play-offs, FFS!!! When all is said and done, there will be nothing more to say or do. When all is done and dusted, it will be nice and clean. Come the end of the day, it will be night. If Daggers get a draw away to Posh, and we win 4-0, Walsall will stay up on goals scored. I don't think Daggers will win away at Posh, so I'm going for a 5-0 win to keep them up.

Wigan and Blackpool for sure, undecided on the third. Would love to see Avran get back to back relegations from the prem, but think West Ham would have a better squad than Wolves should they go down.
-
Yes, for all clubs relegated from the prem who aren't the Skates the parachute payments are: 2 x £16m (1st 2 years) 2 x £8m (3rd and 4th years) However, the Skates received thier first payment - of £11m - in the January when they were still in the prem. They used part of this money to sign the players who dumped us out of the cup. Now, with almost the 1st year over since their relegation they have used the first 2 year's worth of parachutes - £32m. So they only have years 3 and 4 left - £16m - which they shouldn't really see any of for at least another 12 months.

I was one of the 438!!!!!

Well said Wes, as per usual. I also recall certain posters saying things like, 'Adkins has no respect from the players', 'Adkins hasn't got any tactical nouse' and 'Saints are only picking up points because of the players, despite Adkins NOT because of him'. Well, if all it takes are the right players and no instructions from a manager then EVERY club in the football league is making a mistake. Why are Chelsea, Man City, etc, wasting good money on high wages for their managers? Surely, if these fonts of all footballing knowledge are correct, these clubs should just sack their managers and let the players get on with playing. Or maybe they were wrong and that really Adkins has done a great job; and it's just that they aren't man enough - as OldNick clearly is - to admit as much.

The "Big" News - free "All Star" match on Sunday: K.O 3pm
Minsk replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
I would love to go to that one. I hope all of you who go along have a great time! -
1st choice - Huddersfield 2nd choice - Bompey Really don't want it to be MKD or Posh.
-
Thank you Marcus. Well done Nicola, Nige and all the players and coaches. Looking forward to an interesting summer, and doing the double over the phew next season!!
-
This! Previously I would have wanted Bompey to go up but after the run Hudders have had, and the carp I have heard/read from Bompey fans this season, I shall only be supporting one team in the play-offs. Come on the Town!!! Mind you, if they do fail to go up I wouldn't mind taking Pilkington off their hands.

When doing the prediction league this morning I couldn't decide on the result, let alone the score. So I asked my 6y.o. daughter to do it for me. She put it down as 4-0 to Saints. If she's right I'll give her double pocket money this week!
-
MODS tactic...... Locked the thread moaning about the carp, slower than a dead slug, forum....... and then lock the other threads that we might mention the same thing on........ i.e. the 1st and 2nd half match ones
-
GET IN THERE RYAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 - and no match thread also, It took DM less than a minute of the 2nd hald to tell us that that 'what Saints don't want to do is concede a goal........'
-
I lost my innernet connection, rebooted to find out Ricky scored and it's half-time. Come on now Saints, let's have our usual better 2nd half. Score another 3 and I will feel so much beter!

I've been thinking all along that we would lose away to Plymouth. Now, come the day of reckoning, I am starting to believe we will do it. COYS
-
Quite right. I'll make do with Saints Player and whispering Dave.
-
Not all the rest of the world is at work. Today and tomorrow are public holidays here. Good idea about streaming possibilities. Although not sure if I want to watch one as everytime I have done so this season we have failed to win. Grrr!!! (Including the reverse fixture of this match.)
-
I think we will be mathematically certain of promotion after the Walsall game.
-
I used to do the Southampton/Plymouth run most weekends and that's the way I always went. I do know some who always preferred to do the A303 route though. Unfortunately I can't help the OP out as I never used to listen to Solent on a Friday afternoon/late Sunday night when doing that run.
-
I've always quite liked Norwich, and also don't think a WELSH team should be playing in any English league - let alone the EPL! So yes, I am cheering on the Canaries. Also, I want it for Drew and don't want Cardiff to go up after the Bellendamy incident.
-
I hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if Huddersfield beat Brighton.
-
I also don't think we will win all 3 of our remaining games. I think the one that we will will slip up on will be against Plymouth. We will get a 2-0 win this Saturday; with, of course, both goals coming in the 2nd half.
-
He clearly seems to be 4th choice right now, but hopefully his time will come next season - when (I predict) we will finish above WHU.
-
My prediction: Both matches will be drawn on Saturday. We will then lose to Plymouth, leaving us to clinch 2nd place at home on the last day of the season in front of a full house. Any other scenario just wouldn't be the Saints I know and love so much.
