well that was frustrating. There are goals here for us but we need to move the ball quicker. Some lovely deliveries from Ward Prowse but not really being attacked properly. So slow getting it forward.
-
Also Wanyama looked awesome, Lovern didn't give Anelka and Long a kick last week and doubted Bale was as good as Shaw at the same age.

Gushing praise on soccer Saturday and well deserved too, spot on what they are saying.
-
Good depth in the squad now, 7 decent subs too.

You have to say rather than spending 10s of millions and reducing prices to fill it Cortese will be congratulating himself on a spot on ticketing price policy. Keep the price high and sell out or just about. As some of the more sensible poster suggested that this would happen rather than the ridiculous easy jet, dynamic pricing and German models that banded about on here to justify stadium expansion. It means some people will have to pick and chose games but for the clubs perspective as long as there are near enough a full stadium paying as high a price as can be charges then they've got spot on.

I find it incredible that there isn't more interest. We've spent £70m in the last year, have a team packed full of internationals and exciting young talent and have made a good start to the season, yet still people can't get off their arse and attend.

Yep, three minutes from the end of extra time.

Lying, lazy scumbag journos! The daily mail is a vile paper. They are only printing this to emphasise the fact that this black African has taken the job of a good English pro like dean Hammond, disgusting paper full of hate.

Apart from it not being a near miss you're right the city was buzzing, a lot of history has been rewritten about that season. , we should have won the FA Cup that season, that was the one that got away, not the title.

It also doesn't include lesbians who might feel alienated by this chant that implies that homosexuality is a solely male dominated activity. I mean a lesbian wouldn't have a boyfriend would they, so not only is the chant homophobic its also sexiest. 'Does your partner know you're here?' Is much more all encompassing it applies to gay men and women as well as straight people, although perhaps single people might be offended by this chant, so we need to come up with something that includes them as well.

Indeed he was sir. And he one and only goal and appearance came against?????

Youve got good skin, you know how to dress Your stylish grooming, makes Beckham look a mess.

Was he offended? Did he comment on how outrageous and disgusting the chanting was?

As i said above, is that really homphobic? It's more mocking 99% hetrosexual people in the away end for a sterotype that is attached to their city. How is this any more offensive than calling people from Portmouth Skates? Do we think that everyone from Portsmouth is into beastility because of it? If there was a gay player playing and people were chanting about wanting to stab him to death because he's gay or if people were chanting at Brighton fans "Brighton are holding hands and we dont know why, ecause when they get outside the poofs are gonna die" then that's fair enough. BUt chanting about people holding hands is hardly turning a football ground into a cauldron of homphobic hate is it.

Just out interest, When was the last time anyone heard a homophobic chant at a football match?
-
Personally i hope they soon outlaw anti ginger chants so we never have to hear that bloody "look like a wotsit" song again.
-
It's the same every year though isn't it. We rarely sell out before November then all the fans that cant be bothered going in August and September come out of the wood work whinging that they cant get a ticket and we need a bigger ground.
-
Stoke fans ammused me with thier "i've got a shed that's bigger than this" chant, obviously forgetting that St Marys is bigger than the Britannia.
-
I thought you might pipe up on this subject young Andy.

Some perspective on wages and debt in the Premer League/at Saints
Turkish replied to ant's topic in The Saints
It's not just about us in the UK though is it. Whilst the huge Asian market is still obsessed by premier league football then there is a market far greater than the UK and Europe, then there is Africa. Anyone that has ever been there will know how obsessed they are with football, the American market still not fully tapped into. Whilst people continue to buy it so the revenue will continue to increases. People have warned for years that the gravy train is coming to and end, but is shows no signs of letting up. Remember how championship football was effected by the collapse of ITV digital? We'll that didn't stop TV revenues for the premier league contuning to increase, depsite warnings then that this was the beginning of the end for footballs popularity on TV. -
Is "we can see you holding hands" Really a homophobic chant?
