Beat me to it. What is a long ball and what is the difference between playing a long ball and a "hoofball" as some on here like to describe it. Surely the best teams would be able to mix it up, play it short at times and play it long at other times. I've certainly seem Man United play long balls regularly over the 20 years or so they dominated English football, yet some people seem to think there is something wrong with it. Does anyone believe that premier league footballers simply hump it high, long, hopeful balls looking for the flicks from the big man onto the little nippy man to pick up? Or that they play 1980's "get it into the mixer" football? Despite all the bile aimed at West Ham for their supposed "hoofball" the way they play is nothing like 1980s Wimbledon. As a premium club offering a premium product then i am glad we are not devaluing the overall quality of the said product by giving away some pathetic, fatuous gesture like free coach travel. Given that when in 2012 MLGs explained that him expecting the ground extension to be announced "relatively soon" could be any time in the next few years, i'd imagine MLGs assertion that Targett is "getting closer to the first team" means that he is now only several years away from breaking into it.

Maybe he was and personally i started to wonder this a few games into the season, however the guy got us two promotions and we were 15th when he was fired, making the club millions on the way, he did eveything that was asked of him and then some. In many ways he was a victim of his own success. Had we done what was expected of us in the championship and consolidate the first season and push on the second then he might well have grown with us. It probably was the right decison but the way it was done and then to not even give him a word of thanks was a disgrace.

And in 2013 WBA finished 8th, Swansea finished top half. Where were they in 2004? As for your hilarious dismissal of Arsenal winning the league, this would be the skin flint policy which saw them win the league with Dennis Berkamp, Tierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Freddie lujenburg, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole all in their prime.
