BUT BUT BUT, who will pay their bus fares?!!! What would your "friend" do if he got a job?
-
So like a lot of stats, completely pointless.
-
Do you really believe this? DO you really think that a premier league football team in 2013 plays long, hopeful balls all the time?
-
Beat me to it. What is a long ball and what is the difference between playing a long ball and a "hoofball" as some on here like to describe it. Surely the best teams would be able to mix it up, play it short at times and play it long at other times. I've certainly seem Man United play long balls regularly over the 20 years or so they dominated English football, yet some people seem to think there is something wrong with it. Does anyone believe that premier league footballers simply hump it high, long, hopeful balls looking for the flicks from the big man onto the little nippy man to pick up? Or that they play 1980's "get it into the mixer" football? Despite all the bile aimed at West Ham for their supposed "hoofball" the way they play is nothing like 1980s Wimbledon. Although we do have a fair percentage of "GET RID OF IT" "GET IT FORRWARRRRRRRRRRRRRRD!!!!!" "STOP MESSING ABOUT WITH IT!" merchants inside SMS who would like to see us play that way it would seem

Two unemployed scousers on BBC saying its a good idea to go to the job centre every day as its easy to get demotivated getting knock backs when you're sitting at home every day. BTF won't like that.

It does make me laugh how all the divvy Arsenal fans last season all over phone ins and twitter demanding Wenger be sacked and claiming he was past it are now claiming they are brilliant. The biggest helmet of all is Piers Morgan on twitter. I'm sure Norway Saint will appear soon to tell me that it only counts if it's exactly the same Arsenal fans saying Wenger should be sacked who are now claiming they are brilliant.
-
Yes I agree with the above, we need evidence otherwise this is a disgraceful piece attempting to destabilise us. How dare they say we aren't a brilliant free flowing side playing glorious soccerball.
-
He isn't though.
-
Very good and very fair. Yes, we should be doing this.
-
Exactly. Rate £25-£30m and it buys you a quality replacement plus one other quality player, stronger overall. although as we've been told tonight Matt Targett is ever closer to the first team maybe we won't need to replace him!
-
Which is what?
-
Yeah come on Jamie, they get paid big bucks they know the risks, that's life and that's football, surely?

As a premium club offering a premium product then i am glad we are not devaluing the overall quality of the said product by giving away some pathetic, fatuous gesture like free coach travel. Aligned to the fact that the club are thinking of the health of their fans by not offering free food to the already fat framed average football fan to gorge themselves on. Supporting Southampton is not something that is to be taken lightly and is an honour not right. The chosen ones should be happy to dig into their pockets to follow this incredible football club. I applaud Cortese for keeping this club an exclusive brand and not giving way to the pressure of the give it to me now, want something for nothing generation.

Given that when in 2012 MLGs explained that him expecting the ground extension to be announced "relatively soon" could be any time in the next few years, i'd imagine MLGs assertion that Targett is "getting closer to the first team" means that he is now only several years away from breaking into it.

Very, very well said. Pretty much sums up my views on everything perfectly.

Spade face or The Romsey Retard as he is affectionately known.
-
He's another labelled with the 'terrible manager' tag on here because people don't like him and he never took Birmingham Wigan or Sunderland into the champions league.
-
Why would we sell to one of our champions league rivals?
-
That part is the only bit that is true, apart from Dubai Phil talking sh*t of course.
-
This story is not true.
-
Maybe he was and personally i started to wonder this a few games into the season, however the guy got us two promotions and we were 15th when he was fired, making the club millions on the way, he did eveything that was asked of him and then some. In many ways he was a victim of his own success. Had we done what was expected of us in the championship and consolidate the first season and push on the second then he might well have grown with us. It probably was the right decison but the way it was done and then to not even give him a word of thanks was a disgrace.

And in 2013 WBA finished 8th, Swansea finished top half. Where were they in 2004? As for your hilarious dismissal of Arsenal winning the league, this would be the skin flint policy which saw them win the league with Dennis Berkamp, Tierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Freddie lujenburg, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole all in their prime. I wish we had that skin flint policy.
