Was he the one who told you the bench mark of a teams performance and ability if not results, league position or form but shots at goal?
-
I'm not saying i think it's a good thing, but some people on here were indignant that if we were near the top of the table and challenging/in Europe coupled with the FACTS we live in an affluent area and will attaction zillions of casual fans from all corners of the country then we need to expand the stadium. If just doesnt seem to be panning out like that.

aren't Garforth Town now only 10 years away from the Premier league?
-
Quite. As for judging him on his playing abilities England caps and Champions league football suggest he wasn't a bad player, the usual "he was crap" banging of the drum from the Talk Sporters. As a bloke he is as you describe him, He's also a good lad, lives in the same town as i do and a nice chap.

Good to see Danny Mills on there, international ex pro with champions league experience and used to working under pressure and achieving high standards as his performance on celebrity master chef proved. Addressng flaws in the game doesnt get tougher than this.

Ticket Details: Sunderland Away - League Cup
Turkish replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
fair enough, it's just a bit wierd that's all. You're not alone in doing it though, i know another bloke who has to appease his missus by buying her presents everytime he wants to do anything without her, he's a right dweeb though and clearly greatful just to have a women, the sort of bloke you'd find at Chris De Burgh concerts. -

I don't get why you feel the need to buy her something because you want to go to the football, why do you? -
Don't forget we can also ignore the first 12 games of Adkins as that was when were adapting to the premier league so hey dont count. Its only fair to compare his 13 games after that as we'd adapted by then.

its probably best you don't go if you're one of those blokes that has to buy the missus a present everytime you leave the house without her. -
Well they better get used to it as if we achieve our stated aims then Sunday kick offs will be the norm.

2nd best defence in Europe (Top 5 Leagues)
Turkish replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
2nd in L1 2nd in the championship 2nd in the best defence in Europe table Nicola Cortese, the perennial runner up. -
What about our bread and butter of league football? We are top 4 now and getting low crowds for attractive games. Of people can't afford it now surely this would only have a negative impact on attendances if fans were asked to stump up for at 3 more midweek games too.
-
People are already whinging the cost is too high and the kick off times don't suit them. What will they say when we are playing European football and most kick off times are moved to Sundays together with regular midweek games and the additional cost associated with this? If we make the champions league and people have to stump up £45 for Napoli followed by £40 for Swansea at 1.30 on a Sunday in 2016 would we expect both games to sell out as they should do for a top 4 club playing champions league football?
-
Set up a Facebook group to protest but go anyway.
-
So why are the club charging £35 a game? Surely if the revenue didn't matter then they'd let people on for a tenner.
-
You better get used to them, if we make it into Europe 3pm Saturday kick offs will be as regular as striped shirts.
-
I don't buy this Sunday lunch time excuse. This is the premier league, 3pm Saturday kick offs every week are a thing of the past. Are attendances going to go down if we achieve our stated aims of European football?
-
Well 3 games in our average is lower than last season despite us doing much better.
-
Do you think it's a good business model to spend say £18m on expanding a stadium and then reducing prices? Why would this make any sense?
-
Sundays low crowd seem to suggest so. This one had all the ingredients of the matches we were assured we'd need an expanded stadium for. £35m invested in the summer, a team full of internationals challenging at the top of the table and attractive opposition. Indeed the various radio pundits were raving about how much they were looking forward to the game. This wasn't the view of saints fans though as we only sold 4,000 tickets to casual fans with the same amount of seats remaining empty. This was one of the games we were assured we'd need a bigger stadium for yet we got a crowd only sightly higher than our championship average. People have said it's too expensive on here in the past so perhaps the cost is now starting to see attendances dip and talk of expanding the stadium which we were told was desperately needed a year or so ago was premature.

And to think some on here wanted him thrown out of the club........
-
You need to look up what the word supporter is. HTH
-
Here's an idea, how about you back the team and who picks the team whilst you're at the game and berate their performance after it, in the pub, on here of wherever you want away from the ground.
