However if a champions league side comes in, or even Liverpool as he's on record as being a Liverpool fan and he wants the move, then rather than having an happy player desperate to stay we have an unhappy player who wants to move and who could blame him? I would imagine his performances this season mean he would be on a lot of clubs radar, they certainly wont start the bidding at £20m because you say so!! List the players in his position, with zero international caps that have gone for £20m in the past few years. Defensive midfielders dont attract the same sort of fees as attacking players.

Utter nonsense Colin. I've said many times i'll praise him when he deserves it and cristise him when it's warranted. I've always been very consistent on this from day one. It does seem that all manner of excuses are made when anything negative comes to light and people cant bear to hear a bad word spoken about him, it is almost hero worship. i'll speak as i find and having had some inside information as to his behaviour and how he can be that is why you wont find me blindly defending him or making excuses for him like some do when there are negative stories about him. Sorry if that doesn't sit well with you and you consider it to be trolling but that's how it is.

No he was signed after we stayed in the same hotel as Barcelona in preseason, Eklund was signed then and started the season with us IIRC. As Sour Mash says, it sounds like you never saw him play for us. IIRC correctly he needed an operation as he had problems with his back, the player didn't want to have it and believed he could carry on playing with masages and injections and the club and players could agree on it so he wasn't able to be signed permenantly. Was a fantastic player and made a real impact in his short time here. I'd go as far as to say one of top 5 players i've ever seen wear a Saints shirt.

As i said on another thread a post of "hats off to Cortese, well done" on a thread full of gushing praise isn't going to attract any attention. A thread critisicing him for things done will do as as you can see on here the overwhelming are in support of him and will leap to defend him, which in turn will provoke reactions, so it's not a case of he who shouts loudest.. There seems to be a view on here that you aren't allowed to critise when deserved and if something he has done is questionable it's always going to be someone elses fault.

Only the utter helmets on here think that as they are the ones who claim this if you critise him.

Why does it surprise you? it was always going to be an overwhelming majority that want him to stay. he's done a good job overall.

It wont effect if he stays or goes or not either.
