  1. Today is evidence if any where needed as to why we should never take any cup competion lightly.
  2. Dreadful wasn't it. So much better when its the crowd singing it.
  3. There was a story we failed with a late and very large deal for a centre back right at the end of the window, who it was no one knows. Presumably the player wasn't available in January either. Also heard we bid for Martin Olsen as well.
  4. Correct. The FA were sucking up to FIFA at the time to get the 2006 World Cup. United were on holiday out there, remember lots of pics in the papers of their players shopping and sunbathing.
  5. Javier Hernandez might be on his way out of Man United in the summer. Fits our profile
  6. No need to apologies, most people would agree.
  7. You recall wrongly. People slammed nixon on here as clueless asking how he would know what we were up to, when he'd got most of our business correct. I used it as evidence that a week before the window shut it was a shambles that we didn't know which centre back we wanted, not that we didn't want one. Didnt Adkins say we wouldnt be signing Yoshida when asked only for him to sign a few days later? seems like it was a shambles and not everyone in the committee knew what was going on. Nice try though.
  8. Do you mean the guy that was dubbed clueless on here when he said a week before the transfer window shut said we could t decide what centre half we want? What would he know about how much we have to spend Krackers? His track record with us is awful as the centre half statement showed.
  9. Banning Nick Illingworth for his perfectly valid article on his website criticising the club for removing the installment plan was utterly ridiculous and a disgrace.
  10. So the players can keep a copy of their FM stats to hand as a reminder to the level they should play at.
  11. The whole away end singing 'make a sub' and doing the hand signal for a substitute was funny.
  12. I see they've gone with Cisco, good win for them, not the cheapest but arguably the best available at the moment. Will be a very good reference site for them. You say SMS needs it and I don't disagree, but this won't be cheap, as well as the wireless APs and controllers they'll also need to upgrade their wired network and backplane to cope with the hugely increased demand, will cost a lot of money.
  13. Didn't we try and sign Tripper at the same time as we got Danny Fox??
  14. Stop being paranoid MLG, you haven't said anything wrong in this post, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  15. I'm not sure what position I regularly adopt that you're referring to. Whenever I post anything positive it won't elicit a response from here and why would it? It'll just be one of many positive comments on a positive thread. However when its criticism of the club or chairman then the 'anti saints agenda' brigade pipe up. Only this week you told me i was 'talking sh*t as usual' on a comment which most other people seemed to agree with, maybe its the position you adopt against me that clouds your judgement? The posts will provoke a debate and the usual trolling, anti club, anti Cortese comments are made, so naturally a supposed negative post will get more of a reaction from the forum and from me in response. Obviously the 'negative' posts will outweigh the positive ones by a large margin purely for this reason. What sort of a debate is a 'hats off to Cortese for sorting this out, great news' post going to create on a thread full of gushing praise? A lot of people on here cannot bear to hear anything negative said about the club and if it does then they react angrily to it. I don't like seeing my club portrayed negatively in the press like it has been and involved in court cases. I really don't understand what is wrong with that position I regularly adopt, how is it a good thing? rather than blaming everyone else other than the club for it, the media, the courts, the big mouth ex players, the anti Saints agendas and only believing what i want to be true, ill look a bit closer to home and believe that maybe, just maybe, it isn't all everyone else's fault all the time.
  16. Really? Even the stanchest defender of Cortese on this one accepts that Benali was entitled to something, be it £3 or £300,000 it seems that it seems that it the amounts which are in dispute. If Benali was owed, even a pound, does that not suggest something was wrong? As for the other case I linked, well the judge ordered the club to pay up and slammed them for waiting until the day before to reveal they wouldn't be attending court. I take it you don't consider this wrong doing either?
  17. If you care about how the club is perceived and its reputation these things are important. If you want a club that tramples over everyone then they don't matter.
  18. Well in the last few months alone I've given him enormous credit on here for the long term contracts signed by Our key players and for the FACT that players are treated like royalty meaning that they all enjoy being here, you don't hear many stories about unhappy players at SFC do you. When i spoke about the Clyne deal weeks before it happened and anyone on here knew about it or it was in the press last summer (and was told i never did later, but thats another story) i said, that contray to some reports about us, i was told and said on here Cortese and his team were absolute gents during negotiations and a pleasure to deal with. As I said earlier, the football side couldn't have gone much better since he's been here. What i dont want to see if my club treating local business and people with distain and in court and the media for these reasons. I cant see anything wrong with that and when it happens we should criticise. But hey, that must just be my anti Saints/Cortese agenda coming out again.
  19. You see that post above where I said that anyone who dares to criticise the club on here is accused of being Anti Saints, Anti Cortese etc? Well I rest my case, a typically idiotic reply from one of the forums biggest clowns, a man who has accused me of not rating Tanadari Lee because he's Japanese, ignoring the fact that im on record as being a yoshida fan, so forgive me if I pay no credence to any of the drivel you spout. Typical response from forum weirdos isn't it, say anything against the club you've got an anti Saints/Cortese agenda, you couldn't make it up, you know what, is almost cult like.
  20. Maybe you should ask the the judge in this case why he thought it wasn't a great thing we'd settled out of court so late. Read his comments here. He didn't think it was usual and a great move. I'm sure you know better though. http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10052525.Saints_ordered_to_pay___60k_debt_by_court/
  21. I'm not anti everything Cortese, I've praised him on a number of occasions and like everything in life he will do some very good things but also some things that are wrong. The football side of things couldn't have gone much better and for that I've dpgiven him credit on numerous occasions. There have been several court cases involving SFC which have worked out this way, with it being left to the days before to settle this and the general treatment of staff and suppliers is one thing he does that is wrong. Unlike some on here I don't blindly defend him at all times believing him unable to make mistakes or act wrongly, coming up with all sorts of fanciful excuses and reasons as to what might have happened when if you take a balanced view its glaringly obvious. Sadly some on here don't seem to possess that ability and think that anyone that dares to critise is anti Cortese. Praise when able. Criticise when nessasary, not difficult is it.
  22. Why didn't they defend themselves like they said they would then?
  23. Tottenham away 2001. It was at the height of our firm, the M-Kats, noteriety, we'd ironed out Chelsea a few weeks before so Tottenham away was going to be our next scalp and Millwall had threatened to come and put these upstarts in our place with an ambush at waterloo, but it never happened, word went round later than Millwall had spotters out but when they clocked our firm decided not to risk being legged all the way back to Bermondsey. We arrived at Seven Sisters with the expected heavy police prescence you'd expect from Europes most up and coming firm, it looked like our day had ended early as we were now wrapped up by the OB. a few gobby spuds gave it the big one at us behind police lines, giving it the old trampoline but were soon on their toes when they noticed a few of us had slipped the escort and got out. We made our way to the ground to avoid being picked up and decide to head straight the home end to see what the mighty Yid Army had to offer. All of a sudden out of no where a huge firm of Spurs came towards us at pace, outnumbered 5 to 1 and behind enemy lines all we could do was fight for our lives. We gave a good account of ourselves, held them off for as long as we could but sadly, Tommy J* was taking a hell of beating to my left, left hook after right hook, after uppercut, at one point the Spurs lad almost fell out of wheelchair such was the pasting he was dishing out to the lacklustre, beaten and bloodied Tommy J. By the time the Yids carer had pulled the vicious thug off him the rest of the carers had given us a pass and pushed the other tottenham lads away, we made our way from the ground back to find the rest of our firm to recount acts of heroism and bravery. We'd done what no other firm had ever attempted, we'd fronted the disabled section at White Hart Lane, not run and came out alive. Another chapter in the ever growing book of M-Kat success and our reputation around Europe showed no signs of diminishing. * names have been changed to protect the identy of those involved.
  24. What would this mean for Clyne? We ain't going to pay £5m for a reserve full back.
