I agree. We need our signings in place by the time preseason starts to hit the ground running. There has been a lot of talk, a lot of links and a lot of speculation. It seems just like last summer and in the January transfer windows we are fannying about and struggling to attract players. Here we are preseason only a few weeks ago and only one unproven striker signed up. Our squad has already been significantly weakened by the release of players or outward loans. A bit less talking to talk and a bit more walking the walk from Cortese and Adkins please.

Agree with you on the transfer market though. There are some key areas we need to strength. I don't want to see any fannying about this summer like we did almost signing so many centre halves last year.

Agree with this. Whatever people say about Allardyce he makes teams hard to beat. Look at Blackburn when he was there, midtable. He goes and virtually the same players get relegated. Tactically he's good as getting teams not to lose rather than having to win. See their 6 home draws in a row this season as evidence of this. I think we'll be fine if we add a bit of steel and leadership to the side and we need to improve defensively. We are great defensively when we are dominating possession and steamroller sides, its easy to be a good defender when you're dominating matches but that won't happen as much next season. We gave away a lot of sloppy goals and many times when put under pressure last season we conceded. We didn't get many points last season with great, backs to the wall, gritty defensive displays. That is going to have to change this season, especially away from home.

I expect a lot of you are soap and water merchants but for those of you that have a bit of pride of your appearance what do you go with? I've recently switched to the clinique range after years of being l'orell. Got a couple of testers a while back a although you pay a bit more for it my skin feels much better for using their scrub and facial wash. Pardew made Hammond captain for that reason. I think Lambert should get it. He seems to be a big influence on and off the pitch,has been here a while and if he doesn't play well we usually don't.

Yep, I agree. Until his injury in our L1 promotion season he was arguably our best forward at the time. Good finisher and a good attitude. He'll make a decent Championship striker.
