I said this the other day, those stats were ridiculous, i remember us missing 4 good chances and had one off the line. I fully agree, any team at this level would be better with Lallana in it but he is not the reason we lost against Tranmere and drew with Notts County. We should have won both, it came down to defensive mistakes and bad finishing.

He did this really well, always an outlet and got in some really good positions, his delivery was indifferent and gave the ball away a fair bit but he also did some really good things. he has clearly got a great football brain and intelligence. Unfortunately some of our fans dont seem to understand this and want him to run around at 100mph and play defence splitting balls everytime, unfortunately L1 level "flair" players aren't brilliant everytime they get the ball, otherwise they wouldn't be playing in L1.

On paper you might say it appears weak, but we had 3 of our 4 strikers playing, usually we only have two with on on the bench, in our back 5 only Fonte is a regular starter. The only questions marks i have are over Gobern and Doble, the rest are decent enough and Jaidi was rested all together. Adkins has never thrown Doble on so clearly doesn't think he is up to it yet. Gobern is young and our 4th choice CM player, as i've said on other threads i dont know what sort of player people think will be a L1 one 4th choice midfield player but they wont be much better than Gobern. Not sure where COnnolly is as i thought he was fit but when Lallana and Hammond are back, which shouldn't be to long we are in good shape.

A win or a draw and you could bemoan our extra game (s) and the impact on promotion chances and the risk of injuries, get "thumped" as you put it and you could complain about the impact on moral as according to you if that happened we would lose our next two games and you could also complain about the weakness of our squad. However an unlucky loss and a good performance is In many ways this is probably the worst result you could ask for,we played really well and matched if not better than Man U, unlucky to lose and came through it with no injuries. It shows we have a decent team and squad, and i for one am bloody proud of our performance today, it's diffcult to find a negative, although i am sure you will.

That is right, if Man Utd play well they will win, we need them to have an off day and for us to be superb. In case you haven't noticed Utd are unbeaten this season and top of the PL, we are 4th in league one. We are that far apart for a reason.

I think the club has got it spot on. Linking it makes it a decent crowd for Carlise, ensures Man U fans are kept to a minimum on the home end. they did the same thing for the Pompey game last season and i dont remember too many complaints then. I Dont understand what people are moaning about, saints fans, those who aren't going to watch Man Utd would be going to the Carlise game anyway so it just means buying your ticket a few days early.
