Macienne has been on loan in the championship for the last 4 or 5 seasons up until this season, he's only played a handful of times for Wolves this season in the Premier league, i cant imagine there will be a host of premier clubs desperate to sign him, he was great in the championship for Wolves though, when they played down here a couple of season ago he was the best player on the pitch.

I am and not by sniping at everyone else.

ssshhh dont let Super mikey or the other lounge superstars hear you say that, i have been reminded on a few occasions that this is not just a football forum all manner of subjects are open to discussion on here.

why are you being a bellend and bring up all the negative threads this season? Get over yourself, it's boring. After going to the Wallsall game and seeing us huff and puff to break down the team who at the time were the second worst at home in the whole country i didn't think we'd make promotion. Did anyone really think we'd then win 13 of our last 15 games? Anyone that says they did is a liar. We needed that incredible form to stay ahead of Huddersfiled who themselves were on a great run, because of performances like Wallsall, like notts County & Brentford at home. We've achieved promotion but your constant "look at me, i was right" is getting f*cking boring.

What exactly is genuine pace? Johnno Quick pace in a centre back is very very rare, in fact i cant think of a single centre back that been known for their pace since Des Walker.

What do Davis, BUtterfield, Jaidi, Chaplow & Connolly all have in common?

for a CH how about Micheal Mancienne? Been on loan for the last 5 season, 2 of them at Wolves, looked great at Championship level but not played for them much in the premier league. He'd be a great addition to the squad.

If he is still with us, next season will be a better benchmark of this, IMO. Lets face it most home games this season it's not been a case of if we win, but by how many. It's easy to come into a team that is smashing everyone in sight and look good. We wont dominate teams like we do in this league with players who are head and shoulders above most others in this division. It'll be more of a level playing field and he'll come up against a better standard of defender. Plus he'll be playing at the same level as Theo did for us, lets not forget Theo has never had the honour of sprinting at Carlise, Wallsall and Dagenham & Redbridges defences week in week out.

At 22 years old, Walcott has played and scored in a Wembley cup final, finished every season in the top 4 of the premier league, scored a hatrick a played regularly for England, been to a world cup finals (admittedly as a bit part) played regularly and scored in the champions league. Not bad for a sprinter who cant cross. You simply cannot compare him to a 18 year old playing his first season two leagues below and say he will become better because he uses his brain and can cross, the gap between league one and the top four of one of the best leagues in the world is immense. Loads of players are hyped up at a young age, Jermaine Pennant was supposed to be the new George Best. Others look like world beaters in the championship yet cant cut it in the premier league, think of Koumas, McSheffery, Earnshaw, even our own Gregorz Rasiak. I dont understand the logic in saying that a player will become better than another player who is already an international and top 4 club standard because he looks great against the likes of the mighty Gary Borrowdale of Carlise, especially when you take into account at the moment he isn't even the best player Saints have.

oh right, must have been reading a different forum 3 months ago.

hang on a minute, i thought he was absolutely sh*t, shocking first touch, couldn't finish his dinner and the worst brazilian since Jordans bad day at the beauty salon.

There is nothing more cringeworthy than the Sky cameras pointing at some overweight middle aged fella in a replica shirt, crying because his team have just lost and means they wont win the league or cup.

I think you'll find a lot of people on here pay a great deal of attention to the championship manager game. My success and signings proves that you can be successful without spending millions and only a £5.5k per player wage cap. Barry Bannan is proving himself to be an excellent signing, i think we should look at him for certain.
-
TO be fair he was always going to be on a hiding to nothing following on from Lawrie who did an unbelievable job in terms of league finishes and players he attracted to a club of this size. Looking back it would have been better to get an experienced manager in but under Nicholl we played some great football, that 89/90 season where we finished 7th was a great season, a team playing great football, scoring loads of goals.
-
We had our highest finish since 84/85 season McMenemy under Nicholl??? 2 cup semi finals as well. We went backwards a bit towards the end but he generally did okay and we played some great football.

I hate to be the one to point this out to you, but she probably doesn't read this forum.

I've just got Wycombe Wanders promoted to the championship on FM10, second consecutive promotion after winning the L2 play offs last season. I've added Barry Bannan after he was released from Villa, Craig Mackaill Smith, some Serbian striker and a Tunisian international left back whose names i cant remember but my marquee signing was Corry Evans from Man united reserves, a talented defender/defensive midfielder who had no less than 7 clubs chasing him and had offers from Nottingham Forest and QPR and according to my scouts would make a good premier league player but was delighted to sign for Wycombe and is desperate to prove himself to his manager. They were all on frees and only had a £50k transfer budget which i have adjusted for better wages and crowds of 8k. The greatest achievement IMO was promotion meant that Nathan Porritt and Tristan Plummer, Wycombes Lallana and Lambert who both wanted to move to bigger clubs during the season both signed new contracts on promotion. Make of that what you will.
-
I agree, in fact going to the game is pointless. You just sit/stand in the stands, cheer a bit, moan, then go home or to the pub aimlessly. What excatly is the point of that?
-
I bet they hope he is only Johnno Quick on the football pitch.

The Villa Pina in Masa Labrense Italy, fantastic. Local Italians travel up from Naples and Sorrento to eat here and every night is full of local wealthy Italians with views across the bay of Naples to Capri. Apparantly Pavarotti was a regular there. It's also a hotel with rooms across the road from the restaurant. In this country l'ortolan in Reading and in Southampton probably Ennios.
-
Why dont you think we've deserved to? We've got 89 points which would have been enough to finish 2nd every season for the last 10 years, win saturday and 92 points would be the highest points total for second in the last 10. Given out shocking start that is a good effort. We have played some decent football as well, admittedly not been brilliant every week but who is?
-
They are nothing like Bolton. Bolton have a bit of history and fill their ground now and again. WIgan are where they are because one loaded fella pumped a load of cash in. Their crowds are embarassing, 14-15k and about 200 away from home. A town and club like that doesn't deserve premier league football, a truely pointless club.
-
I'm going to get there late, have a burger before going to my seat. At 35 minutes go down for some food, drink and a ****, come back up on 55 minutes, leave on 80 minutes to beat the traffic and spend the whole match screaming at our players to get it long when we are playing posession football.
-
I go in the Joshua Tree pre game, just look for the best looking best dressed chap in there, that'll be me.
-
I honestly think we are only 2 or 3 signings away from challenging for the play offs. Millwall, Leeds & Norwich proved you dont need to spend millions to challenge and in Norwichs case succeed.
