  1. pay your fiver you tight arse. The mods dont do this for nothing, they've got a curry night coming up. Unless people stump up we wont have anyone deleting random posts.
  2. And West Ham fans still moan about him. I sat next to one in bar on holiday in October he spent the whole game moaning about Moyes and even though West Ham won even at the end of the game he was moaning they were lucky and it was boring. Plenty of fans sneered at the idea of us getting him. to be 2-0 up with and XG of 0.69 shows how amazing he is
  3. I have no idea why there is this obsession to be next to the away fans particularly in today’s climate where even making a gesture towards them can result in arrest and a ban. A big home end with singers stood would make for a great atmosphere rather than what we have now with the small pockets in different parts of the ground. Saints have never really had a proper home end, even at the Dell the singers were split between the Milton, lower east and west stand benches.
  4. Neither in some of those seasons
  5. Yeah but if you take out games the 12 games they've only won by one goal then they've only won 7 games, those 12 games could easily be draws which would mean they'd be 15th just above Blackburn, they might have even lost all of them and if they'd also lost the games they'd drawn then they'd only just be out of the bottom 3. fine margins. They really are struggling if you look beyond their wins, goals, defence and efficiency.
  6. what's the Painted Wagon like on a non match day?
  7. When we got relegated in 2005 away fans were in the Northam. When we got promoted in 2011 away fans were in the northam. when we only won 3 games at home in a season away fans were in the Northam. When we went a year unbeaten at home away fans were in the northam. When we won 6 home games in a row in 2023 away fans were in the northam. When we got relegated in 2009 away fans were in the Northam. when we got promoted in 2012 away fans were in the Northam Make of that what you will.
  8. took it home from prison?
  9. No but i use a thing called common sense. Why do something completely pointless, like posting on a football forum, if it was making me depressed and my family was noticing? I'd ask myself if it was all worth it and stop. The fact that you've taken this very simple guide as to what is important in life as some sort of personal attack on you kind of sums up why you, rather strangely, consider it brave to post on an anonymous forum where nothing you or anyone else posts matters one jot.
  10. ignore the haters Trousers. This is beautiful, so brave of you.
  11. talking of nicknames hows Wankersen these days?
  12. To be fair we were shambolic in that 4 game run, after all the #scartissue from previous seasons you cant blame people for knee jerk reactions. If i remember rightly if we hadn't beaten Leeds we'd have made a worse start than the season under Portlvelt when we went down and were skint, not having more resources than most other teams in the league. Martin has proved everyone wrong, he's turned it round and we look a really good side. Lets see if we keep it up
  13. funny you should say that the low block + the matador + the double pivot + the inverted full back has seen a direct attack drop by 0.79 to 3.13 this season, with a reduced speed to 1.41, i'm a huge fan of the matador but i'm not sure that with a double pivot is great for attacking football, but how was to be excited by that when there is so much else to analyse.
  14. I think set up asymmetrically they'll go for a high block and try to get more turnovers in the red zone. They might utilise a number 10 in the offensive press then revert to inverted full backs with a low block when we have the ball in their half. This would be counter weight to when our full backs overlap. I expect them to try overloads where possible using a double pivot although i noticed when analysing Plymouths last few games they've gone for the matador approach in midfield which has created nice third man combinations. Whatever happens it's going to be one hell of a tactical battle.
  15. last time i vouched for something Franniestache said i was accused of "arrogantly giving him my stamp of approval" so i'll chose my words carefully. FranniesTache is known and trusted to the CoT personally with good connections in the football world. If he says something is happening it usually does as has come from a very well placed source. He broke the news of the SR take over before it was even in the media for example. He is in the elite group of posters where we have a 100% hit rate on this forum with ITK news. We have a great chance now to create the mythical Kop end. Now watch all the Northam lot move to the chapel so they can be alongside the away fans again.
  16. depends how you look at it. We’d have stayed up that season whoever was manager. I think we were 15th when he was sacked and finished 15th. Pochetino then only did one full season before fucking off for a better offer. In his only full season We finished 8th but got knocked out early in the cups. We might not have finished higher in the league and Poch is obviously a better manager but Adkins wouldn’t have fucked off to spurs and he also wouldn’t have told senior players to leave because the chairman was and he knew he was. Pochetino is obviously a better manager but what he achieved with other clubs is pretty irrelevant to what he did with us. there is a clear argument that Adkins was replaced by a better manager, you can’t argue that, but what’s arguable is long term did it really make that much difference to Southampton FC? Possibly only a few league positions. Also let’s not forget it was well known that Cortese tried to replace Adkins that summer with Di Matteo who has an a pretty unremarkable record despite winning the champions league being Lampard and Terrys and cos puppet at Chelsea. Again I was pretty well connected with Chelsea at the time and it’s fact they did well despite Di Matteo not because of him
  17. I reported on here exactly what was going on behind the scenes at the time of course I got sneered at but it all turned out to be true. Adkins was a dead man walking soon as we lost at home to Reading in the championship. He knew, everyone at the club did too. He didn’t need to make silly quotes to show he was vulnerable, he I was probably the most popular manager we’ve had in 40 years, all except for one person who ultimately made decisions ruled by his ego
  18. I agree. Just Martins comments about him and Fraser fighting if he doesn’t start soon made me think he’s planning it.
  19. Looks like Fraser will start, same back 4, maybe Alcarez in for Armstrong; Fraser for edozie
  20. When you say interesting……
  21. Behave, I loved Adkins as much as anyone but that man in glass nonsense was cringeworthy
  22. No, that was weird
  23. quite an appetite you've got there chap.
  24. i expect he cares about as much as any senior employee at a business anywhere in the world where they have zero connection too. He might like the owners, the colleagues and his staff, the ethos of the club and desperately want to do well. However he'll be here until gets a better offer from a better employee or wants a different challenge, or he gets sacked. He loved it at Swansea too but left when he got a better offer, that's how it all works. It doesn't make him a bad guy or disloyal, but people shouldn't really expect anything different to that.
  25. dont luk sick on insta bruv
