  1. One of these goals was disallowed for impending the goalkeeper the other one was given. If you didn't know better which one would you think was given?
  2. hmm, not sure i agree with you about signing players in the championship good enough for the premier league. In the championship we signed Jack Cork, Steve De Ridder, Jos Hooliveld, Billy Sharp, Danny Fox, Tanadari Lee, with the exception of Jack Cork the others were all very much top/good championship players but miles off it in the premier league. The first year in L1 we made some brilliant signings, Lambert, Fonte, Hammond, Jaidi, Puncheon, (although a bit of prick for a while was clearly capable of playing higher up) to add to the quality already here, Lallana, Schniderlin, Ox, so had a really, really good base to go the the championship. Even our signings when we went up weren't that great, Clyne, Davis were good, Rodriguez has a slow start but did well after about 6 months, then there were Mayuka, Yoshida, Ramirez & Gazzaniga. We had the goalkeeping debacle where we started the season with Davis, quickly became apparent he wasnt good enough so slung in Gazzaniga with the same result and ended up scouring the free transfer market to find Boruc who thankfully worked out brilliantly. It certainly wasnt a conveyor belt of brilliant signings following a superbly executed plan that's for sure.
  3. Elon Musk has it so i'm against it.

but threads links are fine, yes?
  5. If its not broken consider breaking it.
  6. get a 17 year old kid to carry a coffin?
  7. wasnt relegation meant to be our reset? You know it's bad when our recent signings make Ross Wilson look like a genius. I'm sure it's all part of some genius long term plan that us mortals are not understanding. I think Rasmus should whiteboard it live to the fanbase.
  8. Dont forget some of the players we signed for our Turkish cousins are doing VERY well, they are 4th in the league.
  9. Is it time for someone to write an open letter to the club?
  10. You remember incorrectly. Ralph’s first gave was a poor defeat away at Cardiff who eventually went down. Pochs first game was a 0-0 home draw with Everton a few days after we’d drawn away at Chelsea under Adkins so hardly an improvement with either from “literally their first game”. I know how you love to compare squads so Pochs team that day contained Luke Shaw, Schniderlin, Lamert, Steve Davis, Rodriguez. Clyne and Jack Cork, who would all walk into this team.

    Lack of fitness

I don’t see where Archer would go, another move to a promoted side maybe? I think he’ll still be here Midfield even if we are the same personnel wise Charles had never kicked a ball in mens football when he joined us, he’ll have had a year on loan playing every week this season, he’ll surely offer more than he did. Manning, Taylor, Bree, Suga gives us decent full back options, Wood doing okay since he’s come in anyway it’s a pretty futile discussion as we’ve mo idea who will be here and who won’t.

    Lack of fitness

I’m not so sure. A lot can happen between now and then. Pretty clear THB and KWP will go from last seasons squad but can’t see anyone else being wanted. Which mean with Archer, Armstrong, BBD and Stewart (lol) that’s better attacking options than Armstrong and Adams. midfield if Charles comes back he’s by all accounts having a great season so that’s midfield stronger defence possibly weaker depending on who comes in but even with KWP and THB we still conceded a bucket load of goals, a manager with an idea how to defend might compensate for a potential downgrade. Even then though with Wood, Edwards, Manning, Bree, Taylor, Suga, dare I say it even the Cornish beckenbaur that’s a decent core of good championship defenders, plus whoever come in im going to say it’ll be par, maybe better.
  13. One of the lads 🤣🤣

    Lack of fitness

No one ever said it was easy to bounce back up, it isn’t. However Martin had one of the three best squads and biggest budget in the division so promotion isn’t the work of a genius like some on here seem to think.

Id say an average championship manager could have got that squad promoted. Martin’s records proves that assessment to be correct
  18. Villa qualify for the champions league but have to sell to comply, Chelsea don’t but can still spend £200m this year £400m the year before and £550m the year before that. Make it make sense
  19. Sums you up to a tee
  20. The benefits are incredible aren’t they, as we look up at the rest of the league from The basement. The loan of Lis was an incredible success for us for example
  21. So you agree they’re doing well out of the arrangement 👍
  22. Our Turkish cousins seem to be be doing rather well out of this relationship don’t they. Having their best season for ages with a load of players on loan from us. Who’d have thought the multi club model was to domainate the minor leagues by owning a premier league club
  23. We don’t buy success we breed it
  24. Incorrect. Both were signed in the summer 2018 transfer window when Hughes was manager. Ralph was appointed in December 2018

    Lack of fitness

Yep, modern players are athletes. Back in the era some are harking back too most players weren’t. They’d be on the piss most weekends and on their days off, eat like shit and many would could back to preseason a stone or two over weight. Now it’s a requirement to be fit all year round. I know of a current championship player who has run a sub 3 hour marathon, can bench 120kg and deadlift 200kg and would also be a competitive sprinter in 100 metres, not Olympic level but a decent national level. to have that level of all round fitness takes years to develop. Some shite written on here by people who probably can’t even run 5k or never touched a barbell is highly amusing. Even at non league level fitness standards are really high, my son is coached on a Wednesday by two lads in their early 20s playing northern premier league level so one below conference north. Brilliant, lovely young lads, neither of them drink, they do their club training and matches plus their own individual strength and conditioning stuff 3 times a week. even during their summer holidays they were going out for runs on the beach every morning with their mates one who plays for Burnley the other for Barrow. they say if they didn’t do it and let their standards drop they wouldn’t play even at the level they’re at. Simple as that.
