I am in positions like keeper and centre back. I think for a club like us you need an experienced spine and blend in young, hungry, guaranteed to improvers around them. For example we’d been crying out for an experienced centre back for years before our relegation someone to organise the back four but instead of bringing one in we wasted near on £60m on crap like Vestergaard, Hoedt and Salisu hoping one of them would become the new Van Dijk.

I agree. It didn’t feel like it at the time as it was so tense but in hindsight apart from the shot against the bar they threatened little, I always felt we were in control, disciplined and organised. Martin has to take huge credit for that as at times we’ve looked like a disorganised rabble this season but today was the total opposite of that.
