You very rarely get players staying anywhere long enough to earn one these days. Wasn’t there a bit of a scandal down about a year ago down the road that a player had had a testimonial but 6 months later still hadn’t been paid the money by Pompey.

100% true. He was that mental he even employed spies round the club, offering people pay rises and promotions if they grassed other employees for saying things about him. I said all this at the time and got laughed at, I’ve always maintained he did a reasonable job in league one but half way through our championship season things started to unravel, he started thinking he was infallible and knew more than everyone else he started to dictate to Adkins who should and shouldn’t play, Adkins knew he was on borrowed time from the reading game we lost which cost us the championship. All in all there will always be some who think he could do no wrong but our success was inspite of him not because of him

100% true. He had a personal cutlery case only he was allowed to use, a spoon went missing and he took a load of staff off their jobs to look for it. Plus other weird stuff he also had his own personal toilet, made the staff address him as Mr Cortese and everyone had to leave a corridor if he was walking down it, he was mental.
