We know Saints have a contract offer on the table to Koeman and Everton have decided to offer him a lot more money and he has chosen to go there. I would say those appear to be as factual statements based on what we know at this stage.

Seems reasonable with probably not enough emphasis on how much they are paying him and what that represents of their ambition in a world where ambition and money are heavily interlinked.

How many people can walk away from a double your money deal? Usually you have to go to China or the UAE for that. Double your dough and stay in the PL at a team that clearly want to spend. Its hard to resist that. He has probably increased his salary almost sevenfold since being at Feyenoord.

By all accounts though Koeman was happy to stay...until someone offered to double his money which is 1.) nigh on impossible to resist and 2.) nothing Reed can control Agree in hindsight its better to say nothing until its done. But then people would slag him for not saying anything. What he said was very likely true at the time. Then Everton's money changed the game.

Genuine question: we have been top 8 in the PL for the last 3 seasons. Do we act like we belong in that upper portion of the league? Or do we act like we are overachieving and are pleasantly suprised to be there?

It also shows they really wanted Koeman specifically. Which is fair enough, he is a good Manager. Lets get the one we really want.

Yeah they definitely did. Hopefully they have seen this situation with Koeman coming and can reacr quickly. With Pochettino we knew about 6 months prior that it was highly likely he would leave, from Guan's comments it sounds similar perhaps here. Hopefully so and they get their no1 choice regardless of whether that is a free agent. Also try and give them a 4 year contract!

Do Boer has been hyping himself for virtually every PL job for the last year so he has probably already flown over and is waiting in Totton incase he gets a call. Shows how highly Everton rate Koeman that they have overlooked those free and available Managers to instead pay quite a bit and get who they want. Hope we do the same, as in get who we really want not just who is a free agent at the time.

Most of the names in those betting lists are awful. Certainly nowhere near Pochettino or Koeman levels in the main. Hopefully we have bothered to have meetings about potential replacements and have something left field in mind.

Convenient names to pull out the hat for the reasons he states. Mostly wrong ones but easy links. Forster is the only potential dodgy one depending what happens with Dave Watson and he just signed a new contract.

Those are mostly players who were going anyway. Plus, its The Sun.

Virtually all your posts are about me. Its a ****ing football forum. Its the place for speculation. What do you expect? If you want to wait til its on the OS then thats fine but others will want to discuss the story as it develops. Aren't you in your fifties as well? Surely long enough to have developed your own opinion rather than just slating others for having one.

For making a joke that anyone with a few braincells would spot? Lighten up! FYI once you admit to yourself he is going despite it not being on the OS it will make it easier. His loss, frustrating yes but we move on like always.

Was a joke and obviously about the Euros. There isn't anything to love and equally nothing to hate. Saints were around long before Koeman was on the scene and will do fine after he goes. Its a bit frustrating but its Saints and it wouldn't really be the same any other way.
