  1. Yeah, good shout that. Could well work because Azaz has not been what we expected so far. Would also like to see Fellows moved from wing back as you suggest because he's wasted there - with Stewart getting the big confidence boost of scoring two goal we need to be supplying him with chances from both flanks.
  2. Watched Coventry last night and they are easily the best side I've seen in the Championship this season. Unfortunately they are streets ahead of us so we'll need to continue the progress we're making to get even close to their level. The number of goals they're scoring tells its own story.
  3. Coventry looking like the stand out side who are going to run away with the Championship. Beat Millwall 4-0 away tonight and have now scored 22 goals in 8 games. They look very good and have a strong squad.
  4. Not if Stewart manages to stay fit.
  5. No thanks. Every time I watched him play for West Ham recently he did nothing but jog around and play simple passes. They looked better on Monday without him and he's not popular with their fans for reasons that are obvious. Not taking away what he achieved for us but he's well past his best now so steer clear.
  6. To be fair to him I don't think that was a chance - at no stage did he have an opportunity to put the ball over the line because the keeper made a smart recovery.
  7. Agree, the club should ban players from knee sliding to celebrate goals especially someone like Stewart.

    Will Still

Agree on game management when we go in front. What we should be doing is going for the jugular a bit like when a boxer lands a big punch and piles in to try to finish the fight. Ok, not completely gung-ho but the opponents will be looking to get back into the game so that usually means committing more players forward. All the good sides get in front and go looking to finish the game - we, along with many other teams seem content to hold on to what we have which is just about the worst form of defence going. I'm sure Will Still is going to be working to improve this aspect of our game.

    Will Still

Was he about to be sacked then? Must have missed that news.
  10. What was scrappy about the build up? From what I saw it was a decently delivered corner, Arma jumped well and headed against the bar with Stewart on hand to slot in the rebound. Nothing scrappy about that in my book.
  11. Take a point but a win would be great. Stewart's performance tonight should have them worried.
  12. If he takes it then fair enough but he's been well short of his expected levels so far and was rightly dropped. On his day he is a good centre back but he seems to have lost his way. Roy needs to have a firm word or two with him about career prospects because he's gone backwards lately.
  13. Yeah, he's looked rock solid and hardly put a foot wrong - no mistakes in good old dependable THB.
  14. Think that is down to improving his match fitness and, hopefully, he'll get stronger yet with more minutes on the pitch. He really deserves an injury free run - if he gets it he'll score goals and be a handful for any defence. He's what we've needed as long as he stays fit because he is a very good striker. He won us the 3 points tonight because that second goal was a worldy struck with great precision and power - it'll encourage him to hit more shots from distance. The first was a smart finish and taken with calmness. Good signs.
  15. No, it was a tidy finish in the chaos of a crowded penalty area. Stewart took it with coolness and placed it firmly and accurately where others may have panicked and fluffed the chance.
  16. Yeah, you missed their player backing forcefully into McCarthy as he went to jump for the ball. Clear foul all day long.
  17. Agree. I actually thought Downes and Jander worked really well together against Liverpool and was surprised Will Still decided not to stick with that pairing.
  18. I think he's winning a few over because, unsurprisingly, he's had his doubters. Needs to stay fit and get stronger now and he could score a load of goals for us.
  19. Agree on the ref - nearly every tackle from both teams resulted in a free kick. The worst one being when O'Hare went down with zero contact from Edwards yet he gives them a free kick.
  20. He was playing as a wing back so had to be disciplined and do his fair share of defending - I think it wastes what he offers further up the pitch.
  21. Agree Quarshie struggled today. He's got a foot like a JCB shovel at times.
  22. Agree but we were sleeping at the free kick which is unforgivable.
  23. The positives, 3 much needed points and 2 goals from Stewart the second of which was a belter. He is beginning to look the part as our centre forward. Edwards had a good game other than letting the ball glance of his foot for the corner from which Utd scored the disallowed effort - rightly so because their guy backed forcefully into McCarthy. We still look very disjointed and slow in our build up with possession given away far too cheaply. Too much passing between defenders. We don't manage the game at all well when we get ahead - a collective panic sets in and we just lump the ball aimlessly away from our goal then back peddle as it inevitably comes back. Lots to work on and clearly we're not going to be a promotion contender unless things improve by a massive amount. Celebrate the hard fought win but we remain poor all over the pitch.
  24. He's doing too much walking football today and engaging in the Russball fest.
