  1. I think he's right footed but can play on the left?
  2. Lack of the awareness of danger and ball watching are just two of the worst faults that can rightly be levelled at Captain Jack. Even when he is not making glaring errors his all round game as a defender causes us lots of problems. High time he was binned along with the calamity that is Bazunu. Take this pair out and also THB after his performance yesterday and we'd probably be a lot more solid at the back - time Will started selecting our best players not those who have traditionally played...we are allowed to drop them and now is the time.
  3. I love the way Slot says 'Isaac has not trained much and McCallister has been missing, I could go on and on' He's got it really hard with such a small squad and so little quality 🙂
  4. Blimey, we're going back to lumping it long to the big guy up front - wonder what will happen to Russball when even his mate Pep is ditching playing out from the back. Lump it long, win the second ball and swarm forward in numbers is the way forward - shame we don't have a big strong centre forward at the club.
  5. One of our manager's will spot his glaring weaknesses soon surely.
  6. I don't see the desperation to make the play-offs never mind top two as we wouldn't be ready to try again in the PL and it would likely be another disastrous season ahead. To me we need a gradual reset and a little time to build a good side with good habits which is why I am prepared to give Will Still more time plus the new players also need time to find their feet which always happens when moving to new clubs - it's just not new team mates and new style of football it also involves relocating etc etc. However, if there are no signs of progress after another 10 games then questions will have to be asked and decisions made.
  7. His performance yesterday ranks among the worst I've ever seen by a Southampton centre half - and there have been some bad ones. Roy needs to have a firm word in his future son-in law's ear about being combatant, committed and putting your body on the line for the cause.
  8. Tells us all we need to know about Baz.
  9. Have you considered Mr Hockey might have thrown the envelope down in disgust at the end of the game?
  10. Yeah, just watched it again and I'm still convinced the scorer is offside the moment the ball is headed.
  11. Better not watch another game until he's left the club then.
  12. Look at the highlights. I've watched it a few times and freeze framed the moment their guy heads the ball and the scorer is clearly in an offside position - it's not even marginal.
  13. Sink or swim time 🙂
  14. Macca Jelert Wood Quarshie Manning Charles Matsuki Robinson Aribo Edozie Stewart Probably get hammered but let's give these guys some game time and see if any of them do enough to deserve a spot in the side against Boro - if the two centre backs can't better THB's performance yesterday they may as well give up the game.
  15. Maybe time to give them their chance against Liverpool - let's see what they have to offer. I imagine we might see these two plus McCarthy, Edwards or Wood, Quarshie, Robinson, Matsuki and Stewart.
  16. Agree but not sure how the lino missed the offside.
  17. On an awful pitch we did have some good moments but not enough. All 3 Hull goals were a joke - first one is offside to compound Bazunu's mistake, second is a sloppy pass from THB then zero recovery defending and the third is a cheap free kick given away by THB which is swung in with Azaz of all people seemingly designated to mark McBurnie which only ends one way. THB was a disgrace and certainly needs dropping. With Downs we've signed yet another powder puff player.
  18. Not an excuse but the first Hull goal is clearly offside. If you freeze play at the moment the Hull guy heads the ball the player who scores is quite clearly ahead of our two defenders. VAR would have ruled that out.
  19. Time to bring in Quarshie for me - hopefully he gets a start against Liverpool so let's see how he copes against Isaac 🙂
  20. A single new player tends to take quite a few games before settling and demonstrating his true form. Will Still is trying to juggle introducing 5-6 new guys at the same time and blending them with others who suffered the trauma of last season so no easy task. Add in the fact that he is saddled with a goalkeeper who continues to make schoolboy errors and it is perhaps not surprising that things have yet to click into place. I was initially very angry about yesterday and the Pompey game but maybe there are mitigating circumstances in which case he needs more time and, to be fair, he's never said any different himself.
  21. Well I can't disagree that we need new owners because SR has been a disaster from day one.
  22. After my initial anger at the last two inept performances has abated I tend to agree - give him more time. Personally I'm not desperate for us to bounce straight back up to the Premier League as we wouldn't be ready. If Will Still can steady the ship and get us playing some decent football with plenty of wins/draws and we look to be progressing in the right direction let him carry on. However, if nothing changes within say the next 10 games it will be time to admit he's not the guy for us. I think gradual build is the way to go with the overall aim to have a side ready to have another shot at PL football within 3 seasons.
  23. Regards Edwards a QPR fan was on here saying he was poor for them first match but improved game by game until he was superb - said he'd love to take him back. Maybe he just needs a run of games.
  24. Yeah, he'll have Isaac in his pocket 🙂
  25. Throw in that he immediately recognises that Baz isn't a goalkeeper and he'll be perfect.
