The point is both those players had some level of success before they joined us. Pulis has done absolutely nothing in his career. No one apart from his dad has anything good to say about him. I'll give him all my support and hope he's a success, but I can't say I'm too optimistic about him doing much.

Crouch had done well at other clubs before signing for us and always looked Premiership class IMO. Marsden was always a very good championship player who clearly had something about him. Pulis has been around for years and has never done anything. I haven't read one positive thing from Stoke fans who have seen him. By all accounts he couldn't even cut it at Torquay or Bristol Rovers when he went on loan to them. A useless skate who wouldn't be playing professional football if it wasn't for his dad.

I've been in the lower tier twice and the upper tier once. Always thought the view was better in the upper tier but the atmosphere was better in the lower. The view is still fairly good in the lower though.

People talk about Bernard and Davenport etc but for me Higginbotham was our worst player in our relegation season. He cost us more goals than anyone else. Gave away a needless penalty against Bolton. Wasn't on the same page as the rest of the back four against Arsenal and Bolton when he played their players onside. That own goal against Middlesbrough. Plus many more just general crappy performances.
