Does seem a bit weird, but it does happen sometimes. I think we played Hull twice in a month of something a couple of seasons ago as well.
-
That's my point. Why do people feel the need to bring it up again and again, it's ancient history now. Personally, I wanted Mark Hughes when Strachan left.
-
Point is he hasn't done it many other places so there's no guarantee at all that he would have been a success second time round. Obviously he'd have been better than Wigley. Sturrock though? I personally thought he was doing ok. I don't think his record was bad, home games against Liverpool and Newcastle and away games against Man City and Wolves were awesome under Luggy. Besides, there were plenty of managers around at the time that were far better than Hoddle, Sturrock and Wigley that we could have easily signed. People like dalek talk like Hoddle was the only good manager we could have possibly got.
-
Never said he didn't.

1. If it was the minority then surely you should be blaming Lowe and/or the board for making decisions purely based on what a small section of the fan base wanted? 2. Whose to say Hoddle wouldn't have done the same? He's well known for having poor man management skills. James Beattie, David Beckham, Steffan Freund, Tony Cascarino, Tim Sherwood, Ben Thatcher all criticized Hoddle's managerial skills in public (Which players rarely do) 3. He did very well with us I will give you that. England though? He only got to the 2nd round of France 98 (Including losing in the group stage to Romania), and made a poor start to EURO 2000 qualifying (Losing to Sweden, draw at home to Bulgaria) Didn't exactly set the world alight at Spurs or Wolves either, did he?
-
You're deluded if you think it was a minority. What makes you think Hoddle would have done any better anyway? It's not like he's Sir Alex Ferguson or anything. He's a very very average manager.
-
Maybe you'll get over it one day.

I'm might be in the minority on this one, but I'd rather have Cork at the back than Svensson at the moment anyway. Svensson has done brilliantly to come back and has played well, but he looked kind of off the pace against Blackpool and has made mistakes so far this season. We could do with some pace in defence imo, so I'd be happy to see Cork play. The boy looked class against Derby and Brum.

I'm English but I absolutely despise the England national team. I can't support a team that is full of Skates and overrated tossers like Fat Frank, Gerrard, Terry, Cashley etc... I'd love it if England never qualified for anything ever again.

Blue Square Premier maybe?

He was definitely the best keeper in the Premiership between 2002-2004

Can't stand either of them.

Is the Premiership the promised land for the Saints?
Papa Shango replied to Long Shot's topic in The Saints
No, but there's no guarantee we'll be relegated. We'll almost certainly struggle, but we did that nearly every year in the 1990s, and personally I found those seasons a million times better than any we've had in the Championship. I'd take finishing 17th in the Premiership every year over anything in the Championship. -
Apart from the Fulham game, got to be that triple save in that brilliant 3-2 win against Arsenal 2002/03. Can't forget his penalty save against Michael Owen in Sturrock's first game either.
-
Both of them? I'd go for 1. Davis 2. Holmes 3. Lallana
-
Bit harsh, he's only played 1 game for them so far.
-
Good post, I can remember all those games too. Think Delap scored for Derby in the 3-3 game, which is probably what convinced us to blow £4m on him. If they don't win their next two it'll be a year since they last won a game. Wouldn't be so sure about that. You look absolutely awful at the moment.
-
Stopped caring about England long long ago. Hope Croatia absolutely destroy them (again) next week.
-
Only because of the points deduction. They'd be joint top if they didn't start on -17. Agree that it'll be a tough game though.

If he hates it so much here why didn't he go to Ipswich when he had the chance?

Seems to be a lot less chavs than there was when it was Ikon/Diva. The Icehouse is basically Ikon redecorated. Jaks is pretty much identical. Much better to go on a Friday when it's free to get in. Been on a Saturday and it took forever to get in because the que was so massive, and it's £7 to get in.
-
As Arizona says he's looked off the pace a bit recently, and Cork looked very good against Derby and Brum. Just my opinion.
-
I'd go for Davis James Cork Perry Surman Schneiderlin Gillet Thompson Lallana Holmes Pekhart
