Sounds like you know these anti flair player threads well. The point is not about the player it is about the type of player that offers something different to the ones who presently cannot score or assist a goal against an under 7s team that continually are not being given much of a chance. We cannot after all the games this season and about the last 5 home games of last continue the current approach. We buy these flair players for what they can bring offensively to the team not their defensive contribution. As someone has said elsewhere we have 2 rocks in DM so surely we can risk having a player who might lose the ball a lot, make a bad pass but is trying to beat men and go directly towards the goal, when he loses the ball let the the ray donavans clean up after him.

If Eric Black is so well liked by the players then the question for me is who is helping Pelligrino by reading the players the riot act, whose his Sgt Major ?

The problem I have with this all is during the 7 games the manager has had plenty of opportunities to change up the players or formation to resolve this and he only added long. He has had pre-season and 7 matches and we are still unimaginative and goal shy. I would of expected Pellegrino would of also watched last season's matches and again noted with the same starting players playing this formation meant we can't score goals and yet he still went ahead with the same approach. How stupid does someone have to be to not see to indicators that maybe this is not the right approach for us.

Can some one explain what the manager is trying to do with the formation that is different from "defensive" claude's one ? They both pick the same people and play the same formation so what's changed ?
