Anyone know of any decent recruitment companies or specialists? I'm looking for a press/communications role and have been absolutely stitched up by a number of recruitment people lately. Either they don't read my CV properly and offer me roles that are nowhere near what I'm after, or they keep me waiting for weeks on end about jobs I've applied for or interviewed for without the common decency to tell me if I'm successful or not. Today I got fed up of waiting three weeks for an answer from one particular place - having been told twice to expect a call - and found that they just didn't fancy telling me my application wasn't being taken further. That was after a 20 minute call to one firm in which I said I specifically didn't want marketing roles, and later got a call from the same place asking if I was interested in a marketing specialist job. In October a recruiter flat out lied to me and told me I had a job when I didn't, the organisation didn't have a clue where the recruitment agency got that impression from. It's unbelievable. I'm sick to death of these people and just want to find a job...! Anyone got any recommendations or advice?

I know that Les Ferdinand has been doing some behind the scenes work and Redknapp didn't like it. Would think that Ferdinand may well have a shot at the job full-time.

To be fair, one decent performance does not make a good player, so Holmes needs to back it up by playing well week in and week out. It is telling however that a club that is perilously close to the drop zone would get rid of a player wanted by sides at the opposite end of the table. If you're not much cop you don't get suitors.

Probably more about saying 'Yes you can have him on loan, should you want him permanently it'll be a fixed price of XYZ.' If there's no 'option to buy' I suspect it would mean that there just isn't a fixed price.

Agreed. I've been very impressed with this guy at FC Copenhagen - saw some YouTube videos of him playing him in the Eredivise a few years ago and he's brilliant. Reckon he'll be on Koeman's radar, played at De Graafschap and Utrecht.

If he goes, and at this stage it's a big if, then we've only ourselves to blame. Waiting this long to offer him a contract, then imposing a deadline on him to sign it, isn't a very stylish way of dealing with things. Didn't Fonte get upset about his contract being posted to him to sign? Anyway - there could well be another side to it. You have to be pretty confident that it's not a big loss and that you can replace if you play it like this. Plus the summer taught us all that it's not about individuals and that we can more than handle player departures.

I wasn't born for another five years - I've always said I was born in the wrong generation. It's probably no comparison at all but my first game against the few was the Cup game in 2004/05 when Crouch's penalty won it in the last minute. It was quite special to me as a 15 year old, so God knows what it must have been like at their dump!

Agreed. The Conference play-offs that is. He's got great experience having got Aldershot out of non-league, plus Tubbs scored for fun at that level with Crawley.

I love how everyone thinks that him being a fan is going to play a vital part in any hypothetical deal. Is this not the age of players showing no loyalty that we all moan about? Let's be realistic - six days until the window closes. Burnley have said they won't sell, if they were tempted to they'd have bugger all time to find a replacement. I'm going to boldly say it's not going to happen.
