  1. I've got one or two. My absolute hero Bob Dylan let me down big time at the O2 arena in 2009. Couldn't understand a word he said, couldn't even see him until I moved into a vacant VIP seat halfway through the show, couldn't tell what songs he was even playing. Paid near £60 for the privilege. I can however say I have seen Bob Dylan live, which is a big plus. Maximo Park at Southampton Guildhall. That was a wrong'un. Their second album wasn't that good if you ask me (although 'Our Velocity' is a great song) but I wanted to see them. The best thing about the night other than Our Velocity and 'Apply Some Pressure' was someone throwing their shoe at the lead singer and being told the Liverpool - Chelsea score in the Champions League semi-final. I also recall going to the Portsmouth Pyramids to see The Rakes (great band, two solid albums, one pile of ****e) and having to bear witness to the genocide of modern music that was 'White Rose Movement' warming up for them. I only remember their name because I came up with the nickname 'Sh*te Bowel Movement'. I was so disgusted with them that when I found their album in HMV in Winchester, I threw it under the display shelf so no one could find it.
  2. I was disappointed the Arctic Monkeys were born, grew up, learned to play instruments, formed a group and then released anything in the first place...! Yeah it's not my favourite as I said before, and it can be hard to listen to at times. That said, when I was in college and loathing my existence as a 16 year old it was good to listen to whilst waiting for the bus. Other than Dark Side of the Moon I'm not sure I even like a whole Pink Floyd album. 'Wish You Were Here' for example has 'Have a Cigar' and 'Welcome to the Machine', neither of which I'm too keen on. I actually think 'Meddle' is their best album other than DSotM, but 'Animals' is also an underrated work of absolute genius.
  3. One or two hacks I've worked with in the past only have nice things to say about him. As for colleagues in football, that's a different story. Oh I quite agree. Very strange. Clive seems a nice man but has some very strange things to say - not great when you're a commentator, admittedly...
  4. Clive Tyldesley told me earlier this year that he prefers the Skates to us after we sacked Pardew. Seems to have the media on his side.
  5. Had Hoddle been appointed, he would still have worked under Rupert Lowe, and whilst I was not part of the original 'Rupert Out' brigade, things very quickly became farcical and he did have to leave. It would have made very little difference and added to that his record at Wolves and his subsequent career, or lack of it, no. Appointing Glenn Hoddle, or your perceived failure to re-appoint him, would not have changed a thing.
  6. Congratulations to all those who succeeded. I failed my A levels first time around and taught myself my three subjects again from home and eventually got the grades for uni. I finished uni this year and can say that it's not all it's cracked up to be at all. Third year in particular was a massive let down. I got a 2:2 - would have been higher I dare say but I was involved in a car accident that had severe consequences for some of my work. But as I soon found out with A levels and GCSE's before that, no one really cares what you got. All the job interviews I went to said the fact I got a 2:2 didn't matter one jot. So well done, but be warned its soon forgotten and its all about getting the next bit of paper with a letter and some numbers on it!
  7. His pre-Cardiff tweets were brilliant. "I feel amazing today. Zen even. Zen as ****. To top it all off, Youssou N'Dour is popping round this aftertoon to chip my Nintendo Wii." "I am so ****ing psyched about the Cardiff game on Sunday. I just took a **** in a musical jewellery box and posted it to Katherine Jenkins" "Is she even from Cardiff? I don't ****ing care. That's how psyched I am."
  8. He's a money grabber. That really is all there is to it - Fulham fans I know found that out rather quickly. Bad injury record and a questionable attitude too. Avoid at all costs I'd say. That said, Warnock wants him at QPR, was meant to be their top transfer target at the start of the summer.
  9. No thanks.
  10. Remember seeing him sign for Watford on Football Manager a few years ago. Hilarious.
  11. They don't even know why they don't like us. That's the honest truth of it. So incredibly stupid.
  12. Why are people still listening to Illingsworth? For Christ's sake.
  13. Bought it when it first came out, the demands of the game were too much for my scrappy PC. I didn't get very far as it was seemingly impossible to play. Bought the deluxe version when I got a decent laptop about four years ago, played it a bit, no success again, and I put it away. Rediscovered it and it runs smoothly on my current laptop, but it still seems very difficult to play! Anyone had any success with it? I've been looking through the net for guides and I've compiled a list of stuff to do, going to have a crack at getting me a metropolis!
  14. I have anxieties over any away game and this is no exception. Other than last season, I can't recall a time since I've been following Saints that we've ever been that good away. I remember how overjoyed I was when we beat Middlesbrough 3 - 1 at their place in 2005, since wins away were so hard to come by!
  15. A player at Staines Town was found to be involved in the rioting in London. Their official Club website has a statement: "In the light of the news received late yesterday via the BBC Staines Town Football Club is shocked and disappointed to hear of Mario Quiassaca’s involvement in the recent looting and rioting in London. As a consequence of this Mario’s registration is terminated with immediate effect". That's embarassing.
  16. True. It also occurs to me that there's a chance Maynard could be our record signing. If that's the case, our record spend on a single player could be when we're in the second tier, despite 27 years of top flight football. Does that say something about our ambition back then or does that say more about us now? I think it's a bit of both to be honest. £7 million is too much for a Championship club though, wouldn't you agree? No doubting his talent though as you say.
  17. Well we should apparently start hearing things on Monday, if we are to believe the Twitter talk. I'd still prefer Ebanks-Blake.
  18. Keith Millen ahead of the game against Cardiff on Maynard: - He has a year left on his current contract - They've made a 'good offer' to him on a new contract - It's now in the hands of him and his agent (he said his agent first...) - They hope he signs a new contract - Transfer offers so far for him haven't been anywhere near what they'd accept - Those offers came in 'a while ago' - They don't want to lose him - He is a key part of the team
  19. Maynard starts for City today.
  20. One poster on there is quite right though, pointing out it's all just conjecture. Got to love the guy with the David James 'Pride of Bristol - Pride of England' signature. Simpleton.
  21. I blame Jimmy Hill.
  22. Keith Hill... Worst dressed manager ever? Purple shirt, silver and blue striped tie, grey suit and brown shoes. Oh dear. I used to work at AFC Bournemouth and met him in the tunnel before a game once. Looked like a bloody farmer! Here's what I mean... Someone feel free to do some photoshopping by the way, that water bottle can be easily changed.
  23. The referee actually sent Gervinho off for the stupid haircut, only a yellow for Barton, his style needs some time to develop.
  24. I worked at Dominos. I do not have a story similar to yours to share I'm afraid.
  25. Just been to the kitchen for a snack. The microwave heard about the result, and showed his happiness
