Well, for a start, we are forced to live with a 200 year old railway. The Germans effectively built theirs from scratch after the second world war. It's not easy to update such an old system and run services on it at the same time.

I'd like to point out that the post comes from 'the lad bible' - 'lad culture' needs to be stamped out or we risk another generation of young men acting like c*nts and thinking it's acceptable.

Yep, very true. I can well remember dashing to get a train at Crystal Palace station only to have confirmation it had been cancelled a minute before it was due to arrive. The train had been terminated half an hour before but no one thought to update passengers. Similar story with First Capital Connect. Waiting at Haydons Road, two minutes before its due in, cancelled. It then races past us and the boards are THEN updated. By comparison, South West Trains although expensive, are brilliant...

I spent a year commuting from Shawford to Waterloo at 6:49 every morning, getting the 5:39pm back. Problems were few and far between. It seems to me that the closer you get to London, the worse it gets. I eventually moved to London and used First Capital Connect to go from Wimbledon to Farringdon and it was atrocious. South West Trains aren't nearly as bad as other companies, long story short. The worst thing about them is indeed the price, I had to pay £500 a month for the pleasure of commuting, money that amounted to the same as a month's rent to live a few miles from my office. The worst thing, by a mile, are idiot passengers. I don't know when it became acceptable to eat on trains, but it needs to be stopped.

How did you guess that? Oh wait, you've been on SaintsWeb longer than a day!

An expensive mistake, and yet another lesson to all of those who easily get carried away. Reminiscent of the Steve de Ridder YouTube clips debacle.
-
Simple, they're not in the Premier/Football League, and that means that the FA aren't embarrassed enough, if at all, by it.
-
It's very strange. Plymouth v Carlisle I could just about understand but they probably didn't even fly up to Liverpool for games against Scousehampton and Everton. It's a billy big b*llcks attitude that other clubs will get very tired of though... If they haven't already.
-
I'd say they look forward to Dagenham & Redbridge when it comes to London, as they play quite similarly to us according to Gus Poyet.
-
The News tomorrow... BRAVE POMPEY GO DOWN FIGHTING IN THE BATTLE OF BIRKENHEAD. I look forward to the next time they're there to play the mighty Cammell Laird.

Technically it's a burglary, not a robbery. (Waits for the inevitable dispute over terminology)

Glad the poster of the original remark is in America, couldn't bear to be any closer to them. Christ what a load of drivel. Ever had a bad day at the office? Did that make you sh*t at your job forevermore? No. Same thing applies. -
Disappointed Connor wasn't first and that MLG has disputed the birthday with some endless boring statistics that make him vastly superior to us mere mortals.
-
It's also only being mentioned that he was about first team acquisitions. The interview in the feature about the new pavilion said that he was also involved in the acquisition of youth team players, so perhaps Spurs want him to find young players and train them, rather than let us train them and then buy them...
-
And herein lies the problem. Mitchell can get the club to sign whoever he wants but when you have no continuity as a result of sacking managers, those players will not perform as hoped. When that happens, and Spurs don't achieve, they get sold. So what's the point?
-
This is going to be a job that a lot of top people will want. You never know, we might improve upon him. As for Spurs, they're not going to finish in the top four any time soon, so bit of a backwards step for those who keep heading to White Hart Lane as soon as Levy wants to make changes.
-
Maybe that's where we went wrong, he's a goalkeeper is he?

I was a mere one year old when this came out. Brilliant stuff this, hope the club put an updated edition along these lines together in the near future. Just the 129 years (I think?) to cover! -
Well, Inter let him out on loan to Sassuolo... And then let him play against them. Sassuolo lost 7 - 0 at the San Siro where Osvaldo scored twice, Taider playing the second half when already 4 - 0 down. Not great I'd say. He's still not clocked how ridiculous his hair is either.

Liverpool are John Conteh, fittingly.

What is the point in being smug exactly? I see people on social media giving grief to the supporters of opposition teams and guess what - as soon as we have a bad result, they'll respond, and then who looks stupid? Just enjoy this success for what it is.
-
I remember when Hunter signed, it was a big deal. We did very well to get him - and have done even better to keep hold of him.
-
We should probably appreciate this for what it is, Southampton doing well in a cup competition, something to enjoy.
-
Why? What's so special about them?
