  1. Don't remember hearing that at the time, I must say.
  2. We might expect him to come back, with a possible announcement soon. I've got no evidence of it though.
  3. These are all very good points. So once again we conclude that there is no evidence to suggest we 'might expect to see' anything 'happen' and nothing to be 'possibly announced soon'.
  4. Bit late for that. Apparently we might expect to see stadium expansion and it will possibly be announced soon because we've sold out the odd game and might be a Premier League team after Saturday. Oh and because we've got work being carried out at the training ground, which is directly linked to the possible expansion of the stadium, and the players that play in the stadium.
  5. You're still saying that if a number of people over a number of forums said something then suddenly it has to be true. You are in fact, wrong.
  6. No you're absolutely right, in as much as he said we would never do it, he also said we would do it soon, should expect it soon, should see an announcement soon. As in, he didn't do any of that. What a day this is turning out to be! Guys, you flatter me.
  7. My point exactly. One I've already made, in fact. Also I think it's worth pointing out that new training ground facilities are one thing, expansion of a stadium is quite another. I think certain people have got a bit carried away.
  8. If ten people said that the sun didn't rise or set yesterday, does that mean it didn't happen? You're not a Bill James, Paul DePodesta or a Billy Beane. Stats are not the be all and end all. You're the one who started a thread with 'what we might expect to see happen (and possibly announced soon)' when the truth is, there is NOTHING to suggest either. Nothing. The Cortese interview in which he said they had looked at options for the stadium both then and in the future is NOT evidence that we 'might expect to see happen (and possibly announced soon)'. Quite.
  9. No, I've said this before to you. He never said 'expect to hear something about stadium expansion in the future'. He said he had thought about it, or something to that effect. By the way, if he's said something privately, how do you know about it? Another one of these fabled things he's said over dinner? Speculation. I'm honoured.
  10. You have still no evidence that there is anything we 'might expect to see happen' and for that matter, no evidence that something could be 'possibly announced soon'. You're all for stats, well look at it this way. Barcelona had 72% possession in BOTH games of the semi-finals, they still didn't go through. Possession is useless unless you do something with it. If anything, Reading have proved that attendances are worth **** all when they can barely sell out the Madejski yet want to expand their stadium. You can do all the analysis and bring up all the stats you want. There is nothing to suggest we should expect anything or we should wait for a announcement coming up soon.
  11. Those Carling Cup games against Preston and Torquay really highlighted the need for expansion for me.
  12. A game has sold out and we've freed a few seats up to ensure it's as packed as possible. Big woop. Still no hard evidence to suggest that there will be an expansion any time soon, or that there is anything that we 'might expect to see happen'.
  13. They chanted at St. Mary's and I noticed at the Walkers that the home crowds were 'only here for the West Ham'. Whoops.
  14. West Ham still have 750 tickets to sell. Wonder what that says...
  15. West Ham still have 750 tickets to sell ahead of the Hull game. Oh dear.
  16. A user called PompeyInReading. I cannot imagine something worse. A town full of plastics and apparently, a skate. Nigel Pearson was referred to by Le Tiss as 'the cheap option' - and I've never found reason to disagree with him. Far from a hero, again, a glorified coach - back then anyway.
  17. You've also got to love how Appleton is being hero worshipped. For what, exactly? It just demonstrates how stupid and particularly how fickle they are. Michael Appleton is not a hero. He's a glorified coach who wanted to make a name for himself, so he took a job where he was promised money to spend and fed tales of great potential and amazing fans. He couldn't give a toss that it's Portsmouth - if it had been Wycombe he'd have probably taken the chance up. Sorry, but maybe its just this part of Hampshire that knows what true heroes are made of.
  18. Alan's son is on Twitter, drop him a mention, I'm sure he'd be grateful. http://twitter.com/jimmyball8
  19. Barnard scores the winner and does the Tim Cahill handcuffs celebration
  20. That's just gay.
  21. Used my lunchtime at college to go down to Winchester cathedral and pay my respects. RIP Bally.
  22. I don't know about him not being in the squad but certainly I wouldn't be best pleased if he was a starter on Saturday. That is until he scores a hat-trick and comes over to me, sat just behind the goal, and says 'Are you Crazy Diamond? You're a ****'.
  23. Lambertinho. Anyone who reckoned he wouldn't do well in this division must feel stupid now.
