  1. No you're right, my abiding memory is that he was a fat little ****e.
  2. Not entirely true. Most rumours do have basis in fact.
  3. The most ridiculous thing is you take one rival journalist and then brand the whole of journalism in this country as ridiculous. Good work.
  4. At least my profession is made up of people that can spell, but anyway...
  5. Good luck!
  6. HCNDAJFU He could NOT do a job for us
  7. He's clearly as deluded as the rest of them down the road from that quote about it being like a victory. Going down is not like a victory, I hope whoever subs his work does a good job...
  8. Media policy is very rarely straight forward and often comes down to the manager actually. Harry would let the world and their missus into the tunnel at full time, Burley then asked for only the people that absolutely had to be there to attend and no one else. Look at Ferguson, he bans anyone who looks at him the wrong way or doesn't dress appropriately. This guy at the Portsmouth News is a small fish. It's not worth worrying about.
  9. Din dins! Pass.
  10. Genuine fan of Yeovil, not us, but he is a bit better than most club PR people. Bristol City's mob, dear oh dear...
  11. Yawn. The guys at the media department get a bad press (forgive the pun) but are a nice bunch who do a good job and work very hard. I'm glad they've been backed over some Portsmouth News hack with ideas well above his station.
  12. Can't agree to be honest. Didn't look as if we played half as well as we could have. That's what disappointed me the most about that game. It was comfortable. Palace never looked that threatening, highlights on TFLS made it look a closer contest than it ever actually was. Even when Palace got gritty and tried to kick us off the park, we were up for it and never looked like losing or dropping points. Agreed.
  13. There were sod all left yesterday and someone mentioned today there are less than 60 remaining. The hotline will be busy with people ringing up for Peterborough, as it was yesterday, so if you've not got a ticket, ring up and get in the queue quick! Also use the 'alternative' number...
  14. Against Palace we looked comfortable. A performance of at least that standard, and not a performance akin to what we saw against Blackpool and the blue few, will see us alright. I'm confident.
  15. We all know we have to focus on ourselves and control the controllables. Well. Two big games tonight, Brighton v Reading and Skates v Millwall. I think it's worthy of a thread. We all know what we want from the Amex (I think!) but anything but a win for the blue few and it's all over bar the shouting, surely. A friend of mine who supports Reading has just informed me that they have an injury crisis. Ian Harte is facing a late fitness test, Mikele Leigertwood, Hal Robson-Kanu and Jem Karacan are all out of tonight's fixture. Looks set to be a big night. I won't go as far as to cheer on Brighton or Millwall but they have my blessing!
  16. Almost sold out I think. Only places two sections left, I've had to go for the Itchen/Chapel corner.
  17. May I suggest paying attention then? It was genuinely nice to see, especially as I have an abiding memory of him against Hull when he sulked and threw his hands to his side when he was being man marked, rather than try and get away from his man or put up a bit of a fight. Also, out of that list posted earlier, I am only old enough to know four players. Rasiak was used in a long ball game under Burley yet got 20 goals before Christmas, never had a problem with him. Didn't see much of Jermaine Wright but he was just extremely average when I did witness a performance of his, Puncheon again I've never had a problem with, Guly, my views are well known.
  18. I'm not going to fake some sort of affection for Brighton. The cross section of fans I've met are absolute morons. Control the controllables. Focus on our own games, etc etc. Nigel doesn't say it for the sake of it.
  19. Nice to see him put a challenge in though, genuinely can't remember too many tackles by him in the games I've attended.
  20. I'll take it thanks - that is exactly what we all should do. Call it as we see it. Today he looked a bit more lively, should have scored.
  21. Quite possibly. Whenever Hammond starts it tells me that we're expecting a proper midfield battle - take Millwall. Nigel mentioned how Josh Wright was dominant in midfield when we lost 3 - 2 to them in the Cup. Hammond then played 60 minutes at their place in the league fixture, was only brought off when we needed more attacking options and Sharp came on. A Hammond and Schneiderlin partnership for the game yesterday sounds retrospectively just what we needed. Morgan comes off, Cork comes on and the plan has to change.
  22. Yes you certainly wouldn't get me agreeing with that any time soon. I have wondered whether losing Morgan contributed to our pretty poor display, partly because of what he provides in that role and what we then missed when he was taken off. Cork just never looked in control of the ball.
  23. No you're right, 11 is more than a few, I take your point.
  24. Yeah, some woman was hit in the face, was in tears afterwards.
  25. I've said all along what you have said there. If he's done well, praise him. If he hasn't, and it's worthy of valid criticism, provide it. I've also said that he's got a few goals and a few assists and that's to his credit. There's the praising part. He's also not played very well generally even when he has provided for the team. There's the criticism. I'm now saying overall I'm unimpressed by him and in my opinion, based upon what I've seen and nothing more, I'm not sure he has a future with us. I really don't see what the problem is. It is much worse, again in my view, to just go around saying you can't criticise a player as it's not being a good fan. Someone had the audacity to say I'm not a 'true fan' for not liking the guy after a series of bad performances.
