It should be made a condition of their contract for new signings that they never kiss the badge. Ever.

Im not interested in selling my support. I am a SAINT FOR LIFE

The medicals would be interesting. -
Just for comparison on wages..... I used to see what the pompey players were earning many years ago. The team that got promoted to the old div 1 for one season had some big names. Their top earners used to gross, with bonuses etc, around £40 k absolute tops. Most were in the low £30 k region. To compare, at that time, a classroom teacher was earning around £10k. Not quite the same today.

Will Saints ever be a "bigger fish in the sea"?

Leeds. Big city. Big fanbase. Big dreams. Won the league. And then..... -
Will Saints ever be a "bigger fish in the sea"?

Things are getting more and more predictable, sadly. An american football style franchise model , with their recruitment systems might see smaller regional cities with clubs at. The top for a while, but who wants that? -
Wouldnt surprise me if the new regime think that staying in the PL is a lot easier than it actually is. Somebody send them the dvds from seasons 2003/4 and 2004/2005 please. You would surely have to know precisely zero about business to jeopardise PL status?
-
I expect so.

From the position that we are in the board should be able to recruit a really good manager. that manager really ought to be able to recruit quality (if not equivalent) replacements for Lallana and Shaw, with some of the cash generated, and to keep us comfortably mid table. That is the only game in town. There is no next level without hundreds of millions invested, and that won't happen. Keeping the club safe in the PL will be KLs prime objective, unless a credible buyer can be found, in which case selling the club will become the top priority.

McClaren's stock is pretty high these days. Would think he was a big enough name for the board to contemplate. FWIW. Not saying he is the one for us though.

Is it likely or possible that Shaw has a clause in his contract that allows hime to move if a bid of a certain amount is made?

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

No, certainly not. Would Tomkins be worth giving a chance at some point? Got to be as good as Smalling or Jones? -
Has been a really good player for us, with some vital contributions. The late winner against Bristol Rovers was a great moment. Best of luck Guly, a real Saint.

World Cup 2014 - anyone going?
teamsaint replied to positivepete's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Sadly not, unless I win a competition. Its my one unfulfilled footy watching ambition , to go to a WC finals. Have a great time if you are going. -
It does indeed stink. I wonder what the 10K Gasheads who were present to see their team lose their league status would have to say, for instance. Would have been interesting to see Dykehead announce his plans in front of the Tote End, (as once was). If there is a need for change, which I don't accept, how about some sort of formalisation of feeder clubs? Not saying I am in favour, but it might have something going for it if there were advantageous loan arrangements for feeder clubs, perhaps. Plenty of scope up north, and in the big cities and fans of a club like Bury might benefit from seeing rather better quality players than currently. And obviously we would lurve to have our own feeder club..........

Well said. And great to see poopeylass back .

There is a slight difference of course, in that Guly made a significant contribution to our pretty amazing championship promotion season, and is a handy squad player in the PL. But because he is Brazilian , and falls below Pele levels of brilliance (or for some other unfathomable reason), he gets way more stick from a few of our dafter supporters than he deserves.

I lived and worked in portsmouth for a few years. I also worked with a lot of poopey ST holders, all of whom were great for footy banter, dished it out , took it back, and were a decent bunch. They even bought me a Saints Mug when I left the job ! What REALLY got up my nose was the grief I got from those that never went near nottarf krap, absolute dogs abuse I got from some of them. TBF, the ST type guys I worked with were not yer average knuckle dragger, of which poopey seem to have more than their fair share.

video replays can't be brought in soon enough, IMO. So many games turned on awful or hard to call decisions.

schools are not, in the main, very healthy places, despite the dedication and skill of most teachers. This is a terrible idea, a grotesque step backwards, and has a lot more to do with social control than any good intent for children.

I'm just starting to realise how many uses there are of the word " conference" in every day conversation. "Meetings" will just be a thing of the past............

all blue shirts. Saints should never, ever, under any circumstances wear blue.

i thought that Lambert was finished, rubbish, slow, legs gone, whatever? Thats what i read on here.

depends which calculation you use. per Journey its far from the safest. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation_safety

Can you be more than unplayable? Just a technical point ! Gaston showed why he is only a bench player.

I've got the same feed as you, TP.
