Thanks Rory. Didn't realise there was a new mixtape. Pancake obviously hasn't had time to make a sticky yet. I will give it a listen, it looks intriguing though, I'm not familiar with much except Matthew Herbert and the Cinematic Orchestra.

I love this story, particularly the theatrical manner in which Holmes reveals Oldacre's hiding place!

Some of my favourite albums of the year, in no particular order.... The Heavy - 'The House that Dirt Built'. Great album, 'How You Like Me Now?' is an outstanding tune, check it out here http://www.theheavy.co.uk/ Yage - 'The Woodlands of Old'. Dark and spooky stuff from Amorphous Androgynous' producer. Bibio - 'Ambivalence Avenue'. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Clever. Hudson Mohawke - 'Butter'. This sounds like an explosion at a soft toy factory whilst Outkast are being given a guided tour! King Cannibal - 'Let the Night Roar'. Some excellent programming. Very fierce indeed. Quite unsettling at times. Wildbirds and Peacedrums - 'The Snake'. Amazing female vocals coupled with some serious percussion. Fantastic.

Agreed.

The Chinese 'government' are an absolute disgrace.

Why did you build your stadium in a swamp? Bring back Layer Road, I liked it there.
-
Just back. Sh1t ground, sh1t fans. Colchester seem to have built their shiny new stadium in the middle of a swamp. I half expected to see Swamp Thing lumbering up the pitch towards me, through the fog. We were unlucky not to get something from this game. Poor officials (as usual), and ball boys that deserved a good kicking. Good support from us though. Revenge will be so sweet....... We will beat Colchester in the play offs....... You heard it here first!

Woob - 'Woob' (emit 1194). This sells for about £60 now, I have seen it go for much more.

It was a travesty. I had to lol at Charlton "gun crazy" Heston though.

The books are worth reading. There aren't many, why not invest in a copy of "A Study in Scarlet"?

What a great debate about the great detective! IMHO Brett's portrayal of Holmes is superb, and nobody has come anywhere near. I just spotted the Granada / Jeremy Brett box set for only £30 in Tesco: bargain! As for radio productions, the BBC produced the entire canon with Clive Merrison as Holmes and Michael Williams as Watson a few years back. They are pretty good although Merrison occasionally gets on my nerves. You should be able to pick them all up on CD as audiobooks. PS. Holmes never took cocaine when he was on a case.

Thanks to all the admins & mods for making this such a great forum. Thanks to all the posters for all the great debate. Merry Christmas to you all. See you at SMS on Boxing Day.

Block 5 replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
You may have a point, but ultimately Morgan's improvement should be attributed to AP and the coaching staff. -
Tombstone was on the telly last night. What a crock. I hated myself afterwards, for being too lazy to get out of bed and switch it off.

Thanks for clearing that up Andy. I was willing him to hit it first time......

Not when it comes to the taxman.....

Couldn't agree more. Imagine Conno and Rickie pick up a couple of knocks........ we will start dropping back down the table.

Didn't he get the ball on the edge of the box and lay it off instead of shooting?

Another good awayday. We got what we deserved from the game. Andy Porter has covered pretty much all of what I wanted to say. The main thing I want to highlight is the lack of options. After Leeds scored we needed to change things and take the initiative but AP had very little on the bench. Mellis and Antonio are two loan players that may or may not be here in January. Gobern just isn't ready, and proved it yesterday by completely bottling a shooting opportunity that could have given us the equaliser. We need to strengthen in January, I want to see players on the bench that will strike fear into the opposition.

we've ridden the storm so far. Beckford has threatened but lacked final touch. Pitch is awful. Favourite chant- beckford is a cross dresser!
