It goes to show how important it is to have the right kind of people running the right areas of a football club. Improvements off the pitch can be attributed to Nicola Cortese, and his appointments of AP, DW and WD have reaped rewards after only a couple of months. Business people doing the business. Football people doing the football business.

There's been a fair bit of anti-copper banter at away games too this season. I love it, because I hate the police. Please can we have another of those threads where people try and convince us how wonderful the police are? I love those threads. But seriously, does anyone know why people whistle the Laurel & Hardy theme tune at the police rather than something else such as the theme from Panorama or Antiques Roadshow?

The standard of football wasn't very high (apart from Arshavin's goal) and the famous Anfield atmosphere was non-existent; I hardly heard the Kop sing at all. The highlights for me were the goons singing: "Thursday night, Channel 5" "We pay your benefits" "Feed the scousers, let them know it's Christmas time". Hilarious! Johnson was, is and will always be gash. I enjoyed shouting skate at him whenever he was close (which was quite a bit during the 2nd half) but got a few bemused looks from the surrounding goons.

Nice bit of kit for the price. Never seen these before. I just sold my old Creative Zen Vision M 30GB and bought an 80GB ipod classic. The ipod is great but itunes is utter gash.

Just been offered 2 tickets for Anfield on Sunday sitting with the goons. Obviously I'm more excited by the Tranmere game, but this will be a nice distraction on a Sunday afternoon.
