Rumours in the stands were circulating on Saturday that a wealthy Italian family were interested in purchasing SFC and the Liebherrs were willing to sell. As i say rumours.....but you heard it here first. Back on topic, the time surrounding the Paul Allen takeover rumours were incredible, hours of speculation, PR plants and plenty of supposed ITK'rs. Leonard coming, what a strange poster he was.Helpmerhonda was just plain mad,St David, the heart in the right place plumber who went missing for weeks when he was due back iminently with some important info. And who can forget,Lifelong saint AKA marc Jackson and the monkey petting zoo stadia, bringing in alongside him David Beckham. Magical times.

I am begining to feel very uncomfortable with all this talk as though we are over the line and we are promoted. Let's not talk about pitch invasions and speculative dates on when we are up. We would be heading for a very large fall if we don't make the automatic spot. What will happen will happen. All we can do is support them whole heartedly. This could pretty much sorted this weekend, the next game or go to the last game of the season. Or even 3 more games after that.

Just came back from there and was quite surprised how little amount of stock they have,i take it this might well be down to the sale that has been on,however hardly any home shirts available, luckily found the last one in my size so nabbed that one. Are they getting anymore? will they slash the prices on the few they may have left over? The Staff were a little uninformed when asked. The shop looks very sparce. There were some fairly good deals, kiddies complete kits for £15 seems quite fair.

What age to take kids to saints - vftt. was wrong
saint lard replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Just got tickets for Walsall for my 5 yr old,his first game. Picked him up a hat and scarf also. £15 for the nippers full home kit was quite a good deal also. Really can't wait, hopefully it will be a promotion party and the atmosphere will add to his enjoyment. My dad going as always also,so 3 generations in attendance. -
Just back from St Marys, picked up two tickets for myself and my little one in the family section, only other places available was at the back row of Itchen block 3,back row Itchen block 13 and block 43.

The trotting out of 'he got Scunny promoted' was constant, but the fact he got them relegated was often glossed over. I too would be intrigued to know was it purely down to the lack of financial clout. But let's be fair we have not even been promoted yet,so that question can wait a while. I will just try and enjoy the moment.

He appears to have installed some positives in the sqaud which were previously missing, however peices of the jigsaw are still not in place, the style of play which is still below par for one. We still can't play on par for much more than 45-60 mins, usually in the second half. If promoted next season will be the acid test,as we will not be the big fish in a small pool, not unless he strenghtens substantially.....this is another area he is really yet to be tested....the transfer market. He would have done well in getting us up,but that was really to be expected. Well done NA,now the real work begins. Again i will reitterate, his tenure and achievments at scunny should not and should've never be compared to SFC,something that many often do...continually,including himself banging on about what he did there. Next season,if promoted,we will find out if we have discovered a gem in NA or another mediocre manager.

This is a very good post and encapsulates my stance on the subject pretty perfectly. Our performances, both individually and collectively for the majority of times, have been just a tad disappointing/underwhelming,this and for this reason only i have been critical of Adkins.

Getting a little worried, will be straight down to St Marys in the morning. I need a couple, one for me and one for my little boy, will be his first ever game.Hope there will be some in the family section.Never been in their but probably more prudent to take a 5 yr old in their than anywhere else, but if needs must we will sit wherever.

on holiday on the isle of wight, just hoping we can snatch a important victory and i can enjoy myself tonight. Team line up is,well, just a bit worrying, but hey ho. COYS....PLEASE WIN THIS:

Brighton's promotion a possible blessing?
saint lard replied to SaintAmongSkates's topic in The Saints
We have'nt done this for an age,and when we did it was extremely sporadic. -
The guard of honour thing was mooted a couple of weeks ago and a few Brighton fans were hoping it would pan out this way....i think they will get their wish. Not overly important in the grand scheme of things. But the result is. We can win this. I truly did not,at the begining of the season, think we should be fearing at trip to Brighton. Mind you, a few other games have fallen into that same catagory and we fell short. I think i will be expecting more from MK Dons over Huddersfield, that game is also crucial to where we finish this season, imo. The games we have not been involved in have had a great bearing on our season, almost as much as the ones we have,we have been lucky on occasions,i hope that luck continues. COYS.

Well in that case we really have underperformed, performance wise. Welcome to the darkside, my young apprentice. Anyway, moving on.

Good evening DD. I can always be assured wherever i post you are sure to follow. Read again.."i don't think Adkins is sh*t" Hope that clarifys my position. But he is not blameless for poor displays. No more,no less. You're views are to polarised for me,you will be happy to know. And i will also clarify ONCE AGAIN....when i stated early in his tenure,as opinion, that the players were not playing for him it appeared that the players were not able to produce what they had been instructed on the training pitch, and what Adkins was saying to the fans and in the media about how he wanted us to play. Nothing to do with them not playing for Adkins. Thats the last time, either confirm you understand or will you again blindly ignore my explanation in a vain attempt to score points.
-
Meh,i agree in part with your post, which part though?......i can do sarcasm aswell. Pardew is history and i don't think Adkins is sh*t,but i do blame him in part for performances. Anyway, congrats to the 5 players.

Do they have a league 1 manager of the season? And Durham is quite correct, collectively we have underachieved, the performances still remain staggeringly poor. Many results have flattered to deceive. It seems many are happy to gloss over this fact.
