You've read the trouble George Michael got into! :smt046 -
However, Wes puts a good, well structured point across! Whereas...*ouch* Pot...kettle!

Because no-one on this forum is patient enough to wait. It'll come. -
Think you need to get out more! ;o)

Just done it. Good move! I just called to cancel my entire sports package (not a fan of Golf, Cricket or Rugby) and was offered amoney saving deal whilst STILL keeping all my Sports Channels. Saved £30 instead of £6.50/month (if I'd cancelled in the normal way) until August. They'd rather do that than be overwhelmed by resubscribers in August. Only thing, you can't make any further channel changes until August (fair enough) or you'll be charged full. Worth a call, saved me £30!!

It was a nice, warm evening. It seemed rude not to have a few glasses. Still made work the next day!

I was chatting to Mark this week and he mentioned it may be hard going back to his original role of Academy Director, after managing the first team. He didn't rule out the option, mentioning names like Strachan (who he's love to work with) but he didn't want to be part of "an old boys club" (referring to Matty and past mates/players). I found it interesting Mark brought up Strachan, cos I didn't. After reading this, I'm unsure if he knew more than he was letting on. He was off to Germany (although another reason given, rather than football) so that could tie in with the talk in the Echo about another club and he mentioned that he would be working in football again next season, regardless. Personally, although he seemed open and honest, Wotte did strike me as knowing more than he let on. Obviously, he's in a position to keep club matters private and be discrete but I felt he knew more than he let on. The comments about not wanting to be part of an 'old boys club' suggests that he possibly knew of Matty having some ideas on who he wanted to appoint, and who he'd be prepared to work with. Also, contrary to the Echo reports, I thought Mark had already spoke with the Pinnacle guys. That could be my misunderstanding as I had drank 2 bottles of Merlot but pretty sure he said he'd spoke with them. Personally, Dowie would be a good shout. Clever, articulate man who has more to offer football than he's had chance to achieve. Coppel would be an excellent addition as manager but one I don't think will happen. Strachan, now that would be superb but I find it hard to accept he'd come to a League One club unless he really loved working/living here (still has a house) and he was maybe offered a good remuneration package and phased add ons/bonuses for promotion. It would certainly not be so intensively in the spot light, which he may prefer. I miss his post match interviews! Time will tell...............

Three pieces of advice for the new owner
Gordon Mockles replied to saintbletch's topic in The Saints
And I don't want to read yet another sarcastic, condescending post from Pancake. There should be set limits to the amount of user smugness posted! -
Quite possibly. The Swansea Chairman tried to cancel it with the Celtic interest but the contracts had been signed. What a dumbass!!
-
I think so altho, in fairness, I didn't ask!
-
Dyer's gone! The contract has been signed although the Chairman tried to wriggle out of it cos of Celtic approaching and the likelihood departure of Martinez. Swansea have been a pain in the arse!

Trusting all goes through and there are no problems with the paperwork, I am just happy we have Matt on board to assist our gradual rebuild. I am confident we will overcome the car crash catalyst of destruction created by Lowe and we will finally purvey some long absent ambition combined with actual direction (finally) mastered by people with a modicum of sense and knowledge about properly running a footbal club. Well, we hope. I am confident because the club could have not been run any worse in the past, so any improvement is positive. Long live the Saints!

Could be a result of the new ownership. Not necessarily sinister...unless there's more to be disclosed?! I like listening to Radio Hants. Shame if it's to go. Solent and their practical stories like "how to remove poo from sheep's bum fur" doesn't always rivet!!

But let's hope they're better role models than a philandering, woman beating, talent wasting alcoholic! It may seem harsh but it annoys me when so many people praise Best when he did so much wrong. Does kicking a ball well & loving to drink & party forgive you for so many wrong doings?! Maybe my moral compass is different. Never the less, may he rest in peace. :smt059 [Disclaimer: I wasn't implying Ladysaint was overly praising Best, just so many make him out to be some angel when he had a very chequered history. Now, back on track....oh no! Still fighting about grammer and punctuation!]

Saints Aid.. This bank holiday weekend

no Delays playing or have they previous commitments? -
Foolish comment. In fact, I think he may find his level in League One (although in his head, he probably thinks he should be in Barcelona's starting 11!)

*Passes Richmond the immodium* I get a similar impression to be fair. I feel that Fry may have become a bit worn out and frustrated by the lack of financial action (rightly so) and has pushed Pinnacle and the joker Jackson gang to the side, preferring more serious players. I believe he is playing a risky strategy but I can't blame him. Purely supposition (what else do we do on here?!) He hasn't much else he can do with a poor offer from Jackson, Green, esq. (and not a good track record for reliability) with add ons, phased payments (not what creditors want - they want money on the table.) Then the lack of payment (exclusivity) from Pinnacle and the 500k deposit (whether they aren't able to find funding or it's just a strategy is anyone's guess but Fry may favour someone else as a result of this inaction). Then we have this foreign interest which I, frankly, believe. I also believe that Fry may use this as his best (only) bet, being properly financially backed according to reports (if true) and levering some action from this mysterious biddder on the back of the former, less promising bids. Who's to guess?! Not me. Well, errrrrrrr....I just did. Tried to figure something out. I do believe the foreign option is the bid Fry is keen to encourage, purely from the simple need to sell the club and pay off the debt. Serious backer, serious money, actions, not words. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock..........
-
Just lock 'em all in the boardroom, Fry in charge with a Liger on a lead. Then order them "best offer gets the club, sign NOW or I release the Liger..." Sometimes strong arm tactics are necessary! ;o) Ok, more seriously - What the hell is going on?! I am being patient and expected another full week (this week) to run without news but how much longer must we wait?! I don't want to use the well worn "I am beginning to fear the worst" line but time is not on our side. Let's hope something can be wrapped up by next week, latest. Does anyone actually believe we have foreign interest and it's now a case of due dilligence with them, followed by tabling a bid or period of exclusivity or is this an unreasonable request by Fry? 500k non refundable deposit. Anyone serious would surely not mind. Or, have the actual demands of Fry (on behalf of Aviva and those idiots at Barclays) been too much (possibly too greedy, considering the financial situation and their management of the debt)?? Or...is there just too much paperwork and haggling going on? I mean - confidential information not for the public's eye, intricate financial dossiers, clauses and financial plans, combined with repayment stages that are still being amended and haggled over?! My bet is with the latter...I hope.
