He didn't strictly say that but that would seem the case. I would wind it up if I were him. Can't force people to buy us and he's tried every other tactic. The Football League have unshamedly nailed the coffin firmly shut imho and not helped us one bit. Small clubs, Small Fry (no pun intended). I am pretty disgusted by their attitude and bullish tactics. We deserve the -10, I accept that. The Football League - A Members Club - ironic really as that's exactly what they are. MEMBERS!

I think the staff remaining should get a small loyalty bonus if all goes well....non playing staff (i.e. not the players!)

Oh, f*ck me Mr Hindsight steps in yet again. I'd love for you to run the club and take over from the administrator. Oh, no I wouldn't. Anyone rich but without companies of a high turnover would be automatically cast to the scrap heap leaving us...Marc Jackson! :smt119 Maybe you should stick to your maritime history and ease the arrogantomoter down a notch or 2! You've had some good points in the past but don't let that go to your head! :smt020

I seem to have moved from your corner into the corner of doubt and disillusionment. Whilst I felt it unfair and insult and abuse Lynam and Pinnacle, I am seriously starting to question these inconsistencies. The man (Mr Fialka) talking on Sky last night may have been genuine. However, it did look odd and I wasn't left convinced. That's not to say I'm correct. As often is the case in life, actions speak louder than words and I gave this week as my cut off period for any remaining optimism and future for our club. The clock is ticking...LOUDLY! Whilst I was was frustrated by many of the vitriolic assassinations dished out under very little evidence, I do apologise to the more diplomatic posters (as well as Duncan who used to be a lot more diplomatic and reasoned, no offence) I criticised for bandwagoning and unfairly dismissing Pinnacle. However, the week isn't over yet. If I'm totally wrong, I'll swan dive into the Itchen and you can drag my body from the mud, cremate me and turn my ashes into an etch a sketch! I hope I was right and we just need to be patient until end of play today.

Pancake, not sure if I've asked you this before but is your Avatar a Planet of the Apes homage or, like me, you're a big fan of the popular Japanese underground and exclusively rare clothing label, BAPE? I love the Bape brand (Bathing Ape). Even wore it before the likes of Beckham and co jumped on the bandwagon. So there! Or, am I giving you too much kudos for your age?! I expect a smart arse reply!

No, apparently Fergie's the only one able to play Giggs in August! Sorry!

I think many comments were unfair and overly harsh (not that I can speak by my reactionary nature! ;o) but I am now in quandary and, as Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction would say, in a "transitional period" so I don't want to lambast anyone today! I just wish something positive will happen and football matters can be straight forward and simple. Fat chance. Mole, it's a new thread. Deal with it! You starting to sound a lot like Stanley. Riposte a plenty and a cynical, misreable Alpine esque nature. It's only football. Chin up!

I saw the Sky interview last night with Michael Fialka and I have arrived at two conclusions. I thought I'd sleep on them to give myself a fresh perspective this morning. My conclusion, I believe Michael Fialka was either thrust into the limelight to act as a face instead of the real money man (in an ill-thought out and naive attempt to appease the fans) or these issues with the Football League have actually forced the real money man to back out (as initially reported on Sky last Friday) and Pinnacle have been stalling this week to bring in new investment on top of the original management strategy (possibly from one of the backers that originally backed out). After all, the consortium was one "individual". Now Lynam refers to one of "the gentlemen putting his hand in his pocket". Something decidedly fishy going on and I have now changed my view on Pinnacle and this whole affair. One final point, as has been mentioned, Mark Fry has some serious questions to answer and he now needs to step up and address the public. He may have made some big mistakes, he may have been professional, then found wanting or let down by creditors as a result of the Football League's actions. Regardless, we need to know the situation and whether the club will go into liquidation if no offer is completed by next week. To be frank, I am virtually past caring anymore. What a farce. Are we not due or allowed good fortune in the city of Southampton? It is as though our football club is cursed or a magnet for t*ssers. I'm sorry Matt Le Tiss got dragged into all this by surreptitious businessmen. I apologise to Duncan and those I criticised for doubting Pinnacle and the bid (and the administrator). I thought you were jumping the gun and being unfair to Pinnacle and Tony Lynam. I now believe we have been kept in the dark and there has not been as much transparency as Tony purports to purvey.

Gordon Mockles replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
I thought the same........... It's all a dream............I HOPE! Freaky kid! I do feel this is a front man thrust into the limelight instead of the main investor. Just my humble opinion. -
OMFG That's rich considering Nick and all the other takeover doom and gloom merchants were the most fence sitting, non committal, rose tinted spec wearing people of non-opinion on this forum during one of our worst seasons ever. "We'll be ok", "Keep the faith", "Jan's got them passing really well, we won't get relegated" and words to that effect. I, along with many others, knew we were f*cked as soon as Lowe and Wilde came back and rid the club of Pearson. Point proven. Now, we are seriously stretched in admin. and time is not on our side with this takeover stalemate but it's all terminal according to most and now, apparently, there is no hope of this deal concluding. EVIDENCE? Just wait until the end of the week, then you can be happy Pinnacle have failed (as you seem to heavily infer). You used to wear rose tinted specs when we were getting trounced week in, week out under Lowe's Dutch duo and youth team of injured loans that no-one wanted...try having some faith in Lynam, Le Tiss and Pinnacle. They may just conclude a deal before the week is out (or is that too optimistic for the Deal or No Deal viewers who smile, clap and deludingly insist it's alright that they've just thrown away £250, 000. Or, £500, 000+ if you're Pinnacle). Luckily, I don't think Pinnacle are that stupid, deluded or naive. FFS, it's astounding.

Yeah, and what great ambassadors they were for SFC (as well as facilitating takeovers). More worried about what into their pockets (whether remuneration packages, dividends, share issues, etc.) than the coffers of SFC or their mutinous grip on power, no matter to what detriment to the club. Pair of ****s!

Yep. If you follow the link in my post above, I've previously mentioned all this. It was part of my argument 4 people claiming cos his businesses had seen substantial value wiped out, it rendered Ratcliffe broke! Nope! Not quite. After all, you don't build 5 star hotels if money is tight. Esp. in the current climate!

I don’t think much is confusing. It’s tricky without knowing all the facts but Lynam’s comments strongly suggest the stale mate between the League and Pinnacle may be over the possibility of the League imposing further points deductions on the club (re: the CVA issue). If this is the case, Pinnacle are surely shrewd in ensuring the football club they buy is protected (and not sabotaged by insidious point penalties imposed by an erratic & poorly governed league board with a track record of trampling over smaller clubs). They want their new ownership to begin life as strong as possible. I'm not having a pop at you personally Duncan but so many on this forum moaned (& rightly so) at the media blackout and total lack of information coming from the club. Now we are in admin, the potential purchasers are keeping us informed, all be it restricted through the stipulated NDAs, and that is still not good enough. They can’t win. I respect Tony for informing us daily and it shows he's in touch and at least has PR skills. He must be extremely busy at the moment. Read between the lines, Pinnacle seem to be near the finishing line and it’s merely a case of the FL and Pinnacle meeting on the middle ground, which they are reported to be near. You must all know solicitors?! A simple house purchase can be stretched out for weeks, months. That's without the deliberation (which must have fuelled TL's previous Lawyer kicking jest). Imagine that situation with a football club, with various assets. Have patience and quit with the cynical belief of doom and a failed bid. We’ve a couple more days before the weekend and I’ve booked my celebratory drinks in Oxford St Friday. I hope I’m not the one left with egg on my face... OWTS

Ketamine is quite readily available these days! Even clubbers seem to like it! ewwww!!!

Jeez, let's f*ck off Pinnacle then and bring in Jackson then! Can't be having that.

All this Ratcliffe talk is giving me a terrible sense of de-ja-vu...again! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=329944#post329944 Are you sure you’re not getting muddled up with Pinnacle’s registered office being located just off the Avenue?! (By Cavendish Grove) Morph, why do you think Tony Lynam is a tyre kicker?! Do you and Duncan all huddle together and chose a person to vindicate when you’re not kept in the picture. FWIW, I expected better from the pair of you. Time has dragged out but it’s pretty ignorant just to label someone a tyre kicker because things aren’t happening as fast as you both want. As Lynam said, the delay is for the best interests of the club and could be ensuring legalities are tied up so we don’t impose further deductions. I don't disbelieve him (FWIW). As for the professional comment...I assume you refer to your buddy Salz. An astute and respected businessman. However, he’s not really come up with much in the “saving our club” saga of recent. So, to call Lynam and Pinnacle tyre kickers when the people you purport to support haven’t really set the city alight smacks me with as mildly hypocritical. At least Pinnacle have put a great deal of time, money and effort in. Hardly the behaviour of tyre kickers with no commitment. Unless you know differently! People need to give Pinnacle more respect, dragged out or not. If this week passes and nothing happens, then by all means pontificate and criticise but, for now, everyone should keep the faith and be a bit more respectful. After all, this group have put a hell of a lot of energy into this attempted takeover. Maybe it will be worth it. I didn't see any other groups put half a million on the table before Pinnacle and I don't see anyone else doing so now!

Good post and agree with that point myself.
-
Or, Fry is again using the media to get at Pinnacle and make them hurry up. More likely. If what we understand is true, it's the FL we're waiting on. Who knows?! Time will tell...it's GOT TO BE TODAY THOUGH! Taking the p*ss.
-
You comments are always quite patronising but that one was funny. I'm astounded by the sheer level of supposition and ridiculous theories people come up with on here. They're laughable! All unfounded cynicism & ludicrous conjecture. 90% not ever remotely plausible. People need to: Keep the faith Trust Pinnacle and realise buying a football club is not straight forward. Would they be as blasé with their own money? Be patient At least give a little bit of respect to the Pinnacle Lawyers. If they work for a man estimated to worth several million, you can rest assured they're probably fairly astute with legal issues & contractual law. Still, the self-professed TSW posters/wanna be lawyers may have another idea....

Penis call...Errr. Pinnacle! Incidently, Pinnacle's registered office is based right by my old house, Cavendish Grove (by the Avenue, Dominoes & The Joint Chiropractic clinic in So'ton) Ideal for both Matty, and the squad!
